From my experience on a race team for about 5 years, the more you can build inhouse, the better off you are long term. Almost every time we had to deal with outsourcing, even from "reputable companies"- the team ran into major delays like the one youre seeing. I know axles and the like are fairly expensive and difficult to produce in house, so I can understand your frustration. In the future, i would definetly ask more questions before giving someone money (not faulting you, but making it clear you need parts within a certain timeframe ect is important) and getting a notarized contract in writing will save you a lot of heartache. What a rollercoaster. Holy. I can't believe how unprofessional AKD is. It seems like he threw out the whole "Your order has been cancelled" as a scare tactic, and when you were like "Ok bet" then he started to panic cause he didn't want to give you the money back. Unreal
Sorry to hear about your problems bro. These things can be extremely painful. I have experienced it myself. A few years back I shipped a guitar body down to the United States for a paint job. (I'm in Canada.) The guy at the paint shop gave me the runaround for months before I finally got the guitar back and when it arrived there was a massive dent in one side of the body! I had to ship it back down again for a repair which he also charged me for. It's a nightmare dealing with these kinds of situations but patience is the key. You handled it as best you could.

People like Devin Niemela should inspire you to keep going and never give up he built an AWD Fk8 & ran into many issues but eventually got it done! Bro just came across your page today, been grinding your videos on this project while at work in my 9-6. I Recently purchased a 24 Civic Si and wanted to know more about modding potential. Do not quit man this is the e adversity all RU-vidrs talk about before blowing up! I'm confident you keep putting in the work you will have a successful RU-vid career. I was in Uni as well recently graduated. I tried RU-vid got a few pops but ended up archiving a few vids and quit. I regret it, real world rat race sucks but I can't say I don't relate to your situation. For now keep grinding school but once you get them axles in, grind out the content! Put in more time in editing keep investing in yourself I believe you can pop off similarly to how TJ hunt did. I remember watching him at a few thousand subscribers and you reminded me a lot of those days. Keep up the good work man. I work in aerospace and Jesus does production take a FAT MINUTE. Some parts really take 1-2years to make. Idk if that's just my industry or the times we are in. I hope it all changes soon

My cousin ordered a body kit for $4000 and never got it, but the company had the same story. Think people come and go, the timeline limitation should be known by anyone using a bank. 4 months is actually very generous. Last time this happened to me it was only 30 days.

Personally dss is good imo i also had to wait for a drive shaft for close to three months i contacted them an they said they make all their product to order that they dont have any in stock and they where experience manufactureing delays due to shortages etc but the dss drive shaft was for shure worth they wait but in your specific situation you aint got much time to waste tho thank u for great content tho subbed 🙏
I feel your pain bro. I hate doing business with American companies. People are functionally illiterate after COVID. I work in business sales. This is your typical interaction day 2 day. Misspelling, missed assignments, failed promises, high prices, the most of all highly illiterate people working in these companies.
At this point you might as well invest in type r knuckles hubs and bearings along with control arms just to rub oem axles. Yeah it might be expensive but you’ll have it running sooner than later

The way he dealt with u is crazy. This could have amazing pr for the company identity. Even if they couldnt deliver if they treated u well could have boosted their rep especially with u being a influencer.
I have been waiting for a billet viscous coupler since August 2022 $1,570... almost 2 years with the exact same story, manufacturers issues blah blah... and also sent me the Rocky Chen (manufacturer) conversation threading him... Not defending anyone, but one thing you should understand is that driveshafts are expensive and the profit margins are pretty low. As a result there are very few manufacturers who will make driveshafts. Basically your experience is common and not unexpected. Also people shouldn't take people's money if they can't deliver. That being said, DSS hasn't taken your money so at least there's that.
Even for production OEMs, half shafts are often one of the worst supply chains. GKN has over 50% of the market share and you move at their pace or pound sand. It's insane.

Sadly its exists in a few in the aftermarket parts space. Some people have ambitions of running a business and likely have good parts but are terrible business men.
AKD's address is a UPS store PO box inside a shopping center in Virginia. you and everyone buying from this guy are being scammed there is no shop there is no AKD. no legit shop makes their address a UPS store PO box. That is hilariously sketch. At the very least that tells you hes def scamming people to not have posted a physical business address anywhere on the internet. the maryland address is a USPS PO BOX Lawyer up and warn the others
Thats exactly why he dragged it out bc he knew the bank wouldnt cover it. Take him to court try to find others that have been swindled by him. Im so sure there are more. Thse are classic con artist responses. Also as arrogant and proud he is but never shows his face on videos. Hes 100% not a legal citizen or hes cpuld be wanted by the police and living under fake identity
