This is how much it cost to do a K20C4 engine swap in my 10th gen Honda Civic Si. Since I recently finished the swap, I have gotten a lot of questions regarding how it works and how much it costs. This swap is slightly controversial so I am hoping to shed some light on the concept in this video.

Awesome info! Interested to see how this would apply in a FK7. Another nice benefit is if you blow it up it’s done now so it will be potentially less money then replacing the stock SI engine. Also always nice to learn from short haired Squall lol.

@gavindanitz Great job! Thank you for all of the sweat and tears on our behalf. At the end, you showed the 2 types of people. I'm kind of in between. What is your opinion of the built L15s being sold by various shops as an in-between? FC3 and don't want to change...

The built L15 is still a good option for some. The benefit is that it’s a much easier process since it still mostly bolts together like oem. However, it still has many of the downsides of the L15, primarily that it’s just a small displacement engine designed for economy. It can also be extremely expensive once you add on a built trans, fuel system, and turbos. The k swap is a better option for those who are willing to do a little extra modification

So question for those more inclined than I, if i were to buy a wrecked type r for only the trans, and electrical (interior wise and wiring and ecu tcm everything essentially) would that then be “swappable” to a 10th gen LX and be more or less plug and play if its a roller chasis LX to make a sleeper LX sedan

Curious as to why you say you don’t want to use the stock accord turbo, as Sis need “big” turbo swaps to make 300+ hp while the accord makes 300+ on stock turbo

Another random thing bruh how does a Nissanz make 1200hp but an si can’t ? And idk if y’all saw that red civic si about 6 years ago had like 1000hp i was trying find like build info but what I found is once you go pass 500hp in the si it’s no longer daily able ..I wanna drive my si ..but that type R …is being taxed heavvvyyyy so si for now sigh..W vid !

If this can be done with a civic si, why when the question is asked about a 1.5t to 2.0t in an accord, the reaction is usually the same. Pretty much too much money or just trade in your 1.5 for a 2.0

If someone wants a sleeper, you throw the 12K at an accord 2.0T and a stage 3 tune. And suddenly your average 5.0 is a bit scared.

12k and stage 3 tune? The same tune that’s meant for stock turbo? And only meant for 93?

You don’t even need 12k or a different Turbo in an Accord 2.0T to kill 5.0’s and Scats. 5k or less is enough to turn the Accord into a muscle car killer. Just need a Tune, intercooler, intake (K&N drop in filter works better than most intakes though),down pipe, and better tires.

are you not worried about the accord block? its def not the same as the type R. from what ive heard the accord blocks are pretty fragile in comparison. for the price i guess its worth it bc getting another block is pretty cheap tho

The pistons are slightly different, but it’s the same block with a forged crank and rods. Either way they are cheap

@gavindanitz yes it does same 1.5t the only thing that changes is some bullshit on the manifold dude trust me I know I had a 2018 civic si bought brand new had it for 3 yrs and I had to swap the engine because the original motor spun a bearing I swapped in the crv 1.5t like I said the same shit point is you are not getting back anywhere near that if you were to sell the original motor and transmission

They’re not. I’m not sure how you even use that engine considering it has different cams and a different fuel system
