The 2021 lawn season has been a rough start for sure. This is a quick video on what happened, how I recovered, and how things are going now. I am by no means a pro landscaper, just wanted to show you some DIY action!
Looks great! got to love that Georgia red clay LOL. I'm in Chatsworth ,ga. Y'all was smart and done it early instead of late when that red clay turns to brick ha. I got to admit that the rain barrel collection has interested me but they say a house can fill up a 55 gallon drum in a hard rain pretty dang fast. Collect your own rain so you can water your lawn with good natural water but it can be a little complicated to do that and that's why I kind of never pursued it any further.
I’m in Dacula! You’re lawn is a dream. We have a very similar front yard and have been working hard at getting it looking right. Do y’all have a video that shows the drain installation?
Thank you so much! I hired that part out I can prob send you the hyperlapse version if you wanted. They ran our downspouts down near the road to a pop-up drain .
Thanks Travis is your new place almost done? I'm certainly no landscape pro but we tried our best, I had the whole family out there helping and yeah no football field over here 🤣
@@BermudaBoss 😂 y’all did a great job. Looks awesome! We’re getting there. It’ll prolly be late august or early September. Plumbers got going this week. Patience is the number one word in construction right now.

I'm a plant nerd too. Looks like you have a lot of hydrangeas? I tell you what would look good, some lantana. They bring color and also bring a lot of cool things to your yard like hummingbirds butterflies, the good bees and more. get the ones that come back every year. There's three that will come back every year for us Georgians. You ought to try pink Mully grass. I have about 30 of them now from turning one plant into four small ones over the last 2-3 years. They put on a show late summer early fall with pink cotton candy like feathers. During a pretty sunset they look like they're glowing.
I do love rocks but I don't think I would rock the entire bed. I have to be very careful as well if they get in the lawn bc rocks and reels do not go well together.
