I failed the gym leader portion as the cities in Paldea do not have names that you can absolutely remember. I ended up saying the water types gym city was where I battled iono. I barely even remember Mesagoza. First I thought it was Megazola, then Megagonza, then Megagoza before Bulbapedia told me it was Mesagoza from a Google search.

God damn, right?! Glad to hear I wasn't the only one who had a panic attack the first time around. It was like every job interview I've ever been to: sweaty palms, heart pounding, mind racing (Is my resume up to date? How long was I at my last job? What WAS my last job?! Oh dear God, I'm not ready for this!!)

I passed but barley because of the gym test question and what academy I went to. So I randomly guessed and said "yeah, these look correct" the gym part got me because I'm terrible at remembering city names. Then they asked me the gym leader... I had to look it up and somehow it was the one I had problems with. The typing was easy.

I nearly failed the interview one time. I played violet before hand and it taken me a while to get used to Uva Academy. I play Scarlet after beating Violet and I nearly Click Uva because I was used to it 🤣🤣 I ended up picking the right one and passed first try.

In the Japanese version the school names are literally just "Orange" and "Grape" so it was never meant to be a hard question. Thanks English ver for making this question much harder lmao

That's less dramatic than I was scared it would be, tbh lol. I somehow passed mine on the first try even though my gay @$$ was FULL OF INTERNAL SCREAMING BECAUSE HOW DARE THEY MAKE RIKA LOOK THAT GOOD IN GLASSES JFC. (Nemona is still my favorite though.)

I failed this exam three times. Once for the lols Twice cause I forgot the name of the city of the gym leader I chose Third cause I redid the test so fast I didn’t even realize what I chose for “what my goal is” I took revenge by destroying rika’s team with one Pokémon, and then proceeded to win the elite 4 first try.

I failed because i was playing my character as uninterested. Like every time nemonda showed up my inner thoughts were "you again, let me guess you want to battle.." or every time she showed up at gyms "I'm only doing this so i can control this damned level 70 i found by accident."

So I was playing a Spanish playthrough of Pokemon Scarlet to get Koraidon and have a foreign Ditto for shiny breeding and since I'm no Spanish speaker, I was surprised that the interview ended abruptly. Hehehehe

It was actually a treat for me as an institutionalist to see that the Pokemon League in some regions takes the rigor of grooming the next Pokemon Champion seriously enough to make them interview for it. This felt like variation between regions that seemed like developmental progress rather than a difference in cultural tradition.

I hate the fact there is a interveiw. I wanted to jump in game, knock her out the way and just go in. I got the badges screw off with this interview. Honestly the elite four was dissapointing overall. Only five pokemon apeice and easy teams and no room for each member just the same drab one.
