What happens when an Elden Ring "Pro" Tries Sekiro for the First Time?! 

This game needs a sequel or spiritual successor. One the the greatest games ever made

This game really does need a sequel.. it's one of the most unique combat systems ever made. It's a masterpiece

Sekiro is all about rhythm. Once you get in a good rhythm it becomes very fun. Top 3 souls game for me

You probably didn't know can take a life of a miniboss with a stealth kill. Works on like 80% of them

This one has a special place in my heart. I’ve never had to dig harder for a final boss fight in my life. And ofc my first playthrough from what I’m told I got the hardest one. Never have I had more satisfaction learning a combat system. When this came out I knew that fromsoft was up to something big. “Oh you can jump”….”oh there is stealth”….”oh it’s more story driven”. Most of these elements I feel were them testing the waters for Elden ring . Even the posture system remained (though posture is nothing new to series). My biggest tip to newer players is to feel enemies out even more than other souls games. My personally style I adopted was using light attacks as baits and waiting to see what the enemies response is. They key isn’t just offense or defense it’s about a flow of both.

really nice video, a tip for sekiro is to forget everything about elden ring, and to just leave the dodge button alone until you get the skill that lets you deflect thrust attacks by dodging into them, just imagine that your only way of protecting yourself is deflecting, even if it looks like there is an attack you can't deflect, as long as the red thing doesn't show up above you can deflect it. so don't be afraid to go for it edit: also use stealth as much as possible, if you encounter multiple enemies just run, because even the simplest enemies can easily kill you

"I get a feeling I can't really deflect that hammer" - mistake every new Sekiro player makes. You can deflect anything if it doesn't have a red symbol

I miss this game so much, but I already got all the endings and a couple of NG+. I really want a sequel.

Love a good slow drift towards insanity. This game is just beautiful and brutal

In the chained ogre fight, there were times a circle appeared above his head. This means you can grapple on him. Later in the game you can get a grappling hook attack for instances like this in the game

One of the greatest games ever made for hardcore gamers. Ive just got all four endings and still want to play. It takes a lot of commitment to master and the victories are satisfying every time you earn them because you die a lot without cheesing. Say no to cheese unless it's the Demon of Hatred.

Sekiro was my first FromSoft souls game. Bought it on a whim when it released and struggled at first and regretted buying it. However after a few days break I tried again and it quickly grew on me. I struggled on some main bosses for hours. Mainly the first time I beat Generichiro on the castle I had spent hours and took a break from the fight. I went and did literally everything else available at the time including all of Senpou temple and eventually came back. It took a few hours but o eventually beat him and was definitely excited to continue. I played through the remainder of the game doing everything possible. When I hit Sword Saint Isshin I spent an obnoxious amount of time making progress very slowly. However after all the time and effort i spent getting that far I was absolutely determined to finish the game. I spent a few hours a night for like 3-4 nights and eventually beat him and it was by far the most rewarding gaming experience I have ever had. Talk about a rush. I later went back and completed the other endings in NG+. After Sekiro I tried Dark Souls 3 and really struggled to get into it Bd eventually quit really early on. However when Elden Ring released I began playing it the night it released. I played it straight through for like 45 days amounting too around 200 hours doing literally everything the game had to offer. I explored everything and had all endings available and choose Age of Stars. It was one of the best games I’ve ever played. I’m currently playing through Bloodborne for the first time and when I complete it I will give the Dark Souls series a try again. Elden Ring was definitely much closer to Dark Souls than Sekiro was. I remember being overwhelmed coming to Dark Souls 3 coming from Sekiro given all the additions like many different weapons, stats and upgrades… whereas Sekiro was hard a Exploring fun…. It was just so much simpler with its focus on gameplay and upgrades coming from defeating bosses and your prosthetic upgrades and skills which effected gameplay. All that to stay bc Sekiro despite feeling much much much harder than Elden Ring…. It was an epic game on its own merits. But the experience was so different Dark Souls was just too different in comparison to get into it. I’m hoping with Elden Ring under my belt that I will continue to enjoy Bloodborne and finish it and hopefully Dark Souls will grow on me faster than the last time I tried post Sekiro

Sekiro was my first souls game. I was stuck behind blazing bill at one end and lady butterfly at the other for so long that I can't say. But it slowly clicked for and became my favourite game. Bloodborne is the other game I played. I preferred the Sekiro combat but Bloodborne lore and world and weapons are just on another level

Exploring the world itself is highly valuable as you can find all kinds of things as you'd expect, however one of the most valuable is eavesdropping and finding out some bosses weaknesses or extra hidden loot or even important lore bits

Almost thought you were a channel with 100K+ subscribers, you're heavily underrated. (remember, always deflect, dodge grabs with step-dodge, and jump to dodge sweep attacks)

A game set within the same world of Sekiro would be nice but I think the story of Wolf/Sekiro should be left as it is. His story is done but another story in the same world (Japan with the supernatural elements) would be nice to see. Also the voice actor for Genichiro Ashina did the Japanese voicing for Ripperdoc in Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Edward Kenway in AC4, and Tiziano in Jojo Golden Wind.

i love how i did the exact same thing as you with the ogre on my first playthrough, just dodging his attacks, deflecting makes that boss soooo much easier.

The executions in this game were just so satisfying

Theres technically 2 snakes, there's literally 2 to 3 variations on a lot of mini bosses. Also relentless attack is actually important, in combination with perfect deflects. The best way to build posture is usually a 2 hit and deflect combo.

I played Elden Ring before sekiro too. I did the exactly same thing with you always dodging. But after 4 round and all achievements, it’s still so fun to play.

I love the general namori miniboss, because it's the first boss in the game to give you two choices, you can choose to run right at him it run down his two health bars, despite being way stronger than you, or you can go around the top, and do a deathblow from above, and get rid of half the fight in one button press. While the game is more difficult than other souls games, thats kind of the point, because you are fighting against samurai, who are just better at fighting head to head like that, but you play as a shinobi, who fights with stealth, and tricks. If you get the drop on them early and sneakily, the game rewards you for it

For chained ogre, notice sometimes the grapple icon shows on his head. Use that and also just circle around him. A lot of this game can be done completely passive or aggressive. It’s doing both where you make mistakes. Like you can literally just stand there and deflect all attacks except the ones that need a jump or mikiri counter and you’re good.

Not gonna lie but i have so much love for sekiro i just love this game. Its definitely a different experience from Dark Souls, Elden Ring and Bloodborne but its just so good and unique. The combat is just mmmm chef kiss and the bossesss dude holy shit i love this game man.

Someone probably told you this already but you can stealth stab almost every boss and take a life off them. Fun vid, makes me want to run through Sekiro again :)

I, just got sekiro. And, at first I was getting pretty frustrated because of some of the early mini bosses, (a certain ogre) but after a while, after I had gotten used to the mechanics started to feel on PAR with bosses. It felt like a genuine fight between 2 warriors. Now, I am almost finished with the game and can defeat bosses that I used to absolutely despise, and I enjoy it.

I’m not sure I’ve done that, though. I probably have and then some, but seeing you do that is a skill. Especially since timing, rhythm, and skill are crucial in this game! Mad dope, yo! P.S. I watched it again! I don’t know if I’ve ever done that. You like accidentally dodged right, but ducked down with it. I think it did that because you were on this ledge and stepped down off of it when you dodged. It still amazes me at the things that are hidden in this game / the things you can do. 😲

The best thing in this game is that you can parry things you think you cannot for example the hammer of that giant, some punches from the ogre or the shit that guardian ape throws at you

ymm just a little advice here. You can parry all attacks in game unless japanese sybol appears(then its either grab, stab/thrust attacks which you can also deflect but the window is a lot smaller, and undeflectable attacks which suprisingly there isnt much of them)

The final boss in Elden Ring took me around 2 hours worth of attempts to beat, but the final boss in Sekiro took me roughly 2 months of on and off attempts. And I'm not a terrible player either. Almost lost my mind during those days hahaha

Chained Ogre can be quite a pain in the arse :D

The only boss that's really hard is fighting the owl everyone else you can get attack patterns down and timing of when to counter or evade, but owls sneaky he bailes on certain attacks mid strike alone with some power combos and is far more unpredictable asf

Amazing game. Discovering that the lower an enemies health is, the faster their posture goes down changed my perspective on fighting a lot. Whiff punishing with Whirlwind Slash to whittle down a boss' HP before trying to build their posture makes them a lot more manageable early game

Imagine a Star Wars game like this, where the challenge is in deflecting blasters and breaking posture. We could finally have lightsabers that acted like lightsabers.

Elden Ring,Bloodborne, DS3,Demons Souls,beat them all, but When I tried Sekiro it was a completely different beast. The combat system is way different than any of the others and took me a minute to catch on

Honestly did a great job.. I was miserable for a while, trying to through everything and failing miserably before I realized you can just stand in one spot and if you press right mouse button correctly you're invincible...

I thought this would go a lot worse. The dodges somehow worked really great.
