Ahh you might correct, Charlie does think of the most ridiculous plans that work, and they require deaths. Us small-minded fuckers could never ever think of these types of plans.
Absolutely. Fromsoft games have such a classic feel. Sekiro felt like what I dreamed games would be when I was just a wee lad playing PS2 all the time. Modern and classic, timeless. These games feel a void in my soul.
@@Zero-tz7vj yeah? did you beat him immediately? or does human error, resulting in getting one tapped because you’re a level 1, make it a little harder?
@@tommytwo-times9053 I was level 15 I think. It took like two or 3 tries but once you learn the attacks you can just attack before his heavy swipes and run away
I'm actually surprised that Charlie's chat keeps underestimating him. "It took this streamer this many times to defeat this boss" or "You're under leveled"
Could be that they're just looking out for him. Telling him xqc struggled can give Charlie advance noticed to clench his cheeks to prepare for a tough one.
People just can't help themselves, irresistible urge to share their Google search results knowledge whether Charlie wants it or not. Like the friend you have who tries to tell you how to do everything in a game to impress you, but you just wanna figure it out yourself. Or maybe you're that friend, idk.
Besides the constant FPS drops and clear button delay. But it’s pretty good. People calling it the best game ever is a little overboard. But it’s good!
I honestly feel like Margit might be the hardest first required boss in the souls games. He has a lot of health and odd timing on hit attacks. Not to mention the variety of attacks he has.
@@doggymustach4749 most of them are exaggerating the fuck out of it. It's far from unplayable. This game is literally near perfect for what it promised to deliver.
Everyone has their own playthrough, and their own gaming experience. Just enjoy it. People like charlie relish the challenge, but there isn't a wrong way to play any game
Hint, a friend usually will help indeed, I do almost every boss ever coop, but Margit was the ONLY souls Bourne boss from the whole series that is actually harder with friends due to damage and health scaling, maybe fight him for a hour and study his moves THEN bring if your friends that's what I had to do. I even got him to one shot by myself but I was angry and called in da boiz
get the margit shackle, its in a cave near the dragon and it costs 5k but you can trap him twice in the first stage for a few seconds and do a lot of damage, esp if you have co-op
The main challenge imo is patience, if you want to solo and "git gud" all you really need to do is accept death as a common thing, focus on learning the boss and just practice over and over. You can even google tips to save some time.
I beat margit with overpowered Skelton summons that basically made the fight easy as hell, but as you play the game and fight more bosses you learn how to fight against them, and I was able to defeat godrick in like 5 try’s using a tutorial and generally better knowledge in dodging and being patient. And I struggled badly with this game at first not being able to kill a regular enemy in this game. This game is a huge learning curve you just have to fight more bosses and get more items and ustilise not spamming and dodging into enemy’s rather than from enemy’s
I was at school (high-school senior) and I was sitting in my 6th period/hour and got a text from my mom. It was a picture of this game and she said "I got it". I felt like a child man, the eager and excitement I had to go home and play it. Played for 9 hours straight
Holy shit bro, cherish that woman forever. You're at an age where a lot of parents would easily throw you out to live as an adult. Please be greatful you have such a close relationship with your mom.. Surprisingly not a lot of people you'll meet in your life are close to their mothers. Im 22 and my mom still takes care of me like im 12. You'll get picked on in professional environments because of it, but the only ones that will make fun of you are the ones who were never close to their parents. Just know that being a "Mommas boy" as an adult is a blessing that there should be no shame to, not many adults have such a privilege.
Margit has weird, fast timings that he can whip out of his ass. Like the yellow knife that takes about 0.01s to take out and stagger you with. Godrick is just predictable attacks and timings that are easy to counter.
13:12 had me cracking up I had the exact same reaction to "noble sorcerer" it sounded cool, yet... when I summoned him well... I got this dude hobbling about doing no damage to anything 😂
I genuinely love how this game feels like a colliding of worlds for the soulsborne universe. All the themes and art styles are there, along with plenty of the mechanics and lore ideas; when Miyazaki said Ds3 was the final Dark Souls, he didn't mean it'd be the final souls game.
Well said. I don't know if elden ring will be a franchise or if it'll be more like bloodborne, but either way it feels like the new era of fromsoft. They don't have any of the franchise limitations of dark souls and take complete advantage by showing some obvious sekiro inspiriations
I think the only reason this game is called Elden Ring is because Dark Souls 3 was a narrative end of Dark Souls franchise. At least that's how I felt about Ringed City DLC

@@onii-chan5072 I got clapped a lot of times already ^^ 29 hours at the moment, but I still think this open world feels like an empty place with....no soul? long ranges without any cool thing to discover, for example far north east after the bridge with the dragon...between him and the church at the end is nothing else than a few enemys and air.
i spent 8 hours today doing side stuff, getting flask upgrades, levels and weapon ups and finding the phantom summons to beat this guy... and Charlie just claps him without any of that shit .... damn i need to git gud
The thing with Margit is that he takes pure skill to beat. His combos and moves are completely dodgable and predictable. Pretty solid fight compared to some other poorly done fights in the game
i found the strat to beat margit was to use the jellyfish summon, the sorcerer summon, and a great sword and when ever he uses his hammer slam to either roll back or jump and then roll into him to get maybe a hit or so off worked for me so
I've been going balls deep on this game since 12am Friday. Shits SO GOOD. From software doesn't miss. Most consistant AAA developer in modern gaming history. Bravo!
Margit is an absolute beast, took me 3 hours of nearly constant fighting (did take a break to go get 2 levels in dex and vigor) before I finally managed to kill him, he's such a twat Edit: yes he is super easy if you don't melee
@@SifGreyfang he’s a really hard to read boss, I just beat him and figured out his pattern, but at times he broke the pattern which got me killed many times
I get the feeling that charlie just doesn't feel any negative emotions. Like where other people would rage he just goes "......waht" but when something nice happens he gives the most enthusiastic "OH YAHH BABYYYY!!" it's so wholesome and i love it.
Because the characters are still ugly despite that the gameplay is great. Wish they would use more detailed sliders and variants like in the Black Desert Online instead.
this is so fun to watch!! love the streams also kinda sad i missed earlier ones i respect that you dont like to cheese bosses from what i can see but rather do the skilled plays
If your struggling, try to complete easier areas in Limgrave and level up and pick up good items to use. I recommend using spirit summons against him, and running and closing the distance as necessary. The skeleton spirit summon is super effective in boss fights, can’t remember where I found it tho.

This is James Cordons only time he's ever shined. He's going to be having fever dreams of a heroic tales until Charlie lets the character go back into the ethers
Honestly one of my favorite additions in terms of combat was adding a heavy counter attack to stagger enemies after blocking with a shield. It makes blocking a lot more engaging imo
Elden Ring takes everything they learned over the years to make a great game yet Pokemon has taken 25 years to get to "walking with Pokemon" in the map
Yup some franchises are just so f***ing slow to evolve. Actually I jumped straight from Arceus to Elden Ring because I got bored. Let's just say no time to get bored in ER, you can't even pause the game to take a breather
3:00 it's modeled after the torture helmet of Griffith from berserk one of the biggest inspirations for the souls series along with many bosses throughout the games
God I wish I was as smart as Charlie. Being able to perfectly plan your deaths in a video game to not make your audience feel bad about themselves sucking at the game. He is so intelligent and selfless.
I wasn't a fan of souls likes till i played the elden ring closed beta and DAMN it was impressive. What's more is I actually fought all the bosses that charlie fought in this video during the tech test other than the dog one
Its so cool seeing this game getting the respect it deserves. 10/10 on more reviews, and its only getting better. Who else is ready for the Elden grind!?
The game itself is increadibly good. It's just the optimization, and when i play it in fullscreen it stutters a lot and there's like a tear in the middle of my screen aswell and only appears in fullscreen mode. I am confident that these will be fixed in the coming weeks so i'm not too worried.
With the Prisoner, I instantly fell in love with the Estoc during the tutorial the moment, I started the miniboss fight with the weapon art which caused his stance to break, and then executed him and kicked him off my sword.
I just spent 2 hours doing the Crucible Knight on level 11. It was a nightmare since even his fart would one shot me. But yea dude the AI is crazy, a lot of the time when i back up to heal he does his Lunge attack like 4 times in a row.
@@somezsaltz6835 hes on top of the West cliff side at stormgate. Some bosses are at These weird round spots with those stone serpents just standing around it. You have to interact with the ground and youll get Transported to him
i used prisoner class as well at level 16 with +2 estoc. 2 handed jump attacks saved my ass.this boss is a doozy. almost all of his attacks are delay attacks and it just fucks you up haha. and that massive jumping aoe attack extends past the dust cloud it creates and can take 90%-%100 of your health.
I'm only a few hours in and I'm blown away by how amazing the hitbox in this game, which I noticed a lot from the Tree Sentinel and the smaller humanoid mobs, like how some of Sentinel's thrust and vertical attacks won't hit you if you hug him and is standing in the right spot next to the horse and the spear is so close to your character's shoulder. I thought DS3 hitbox was as good as it can be, but damn.
@@ettu357 The AoE attack from what I've seen in Elden Ring are so large lol, I think the game encourage you to jump to avoid it. You can still roll through the AoE by using the short I-frame, hard to consistently pull off though
@@ettu357 Since I'm only in the first area, the AoE attack I've experienced to far was Sentinel's shield bash bs lmao. And the giant's stomps. Though, part of my fail dodges is probably my fault as well for treating the combat in this game as the exact same as DS3.
Hey Charlie, just wanted to let ya know that the boss at 15:11 can be cheesed by him yeeting himself off the stage. Idk how I even did it, he just went to jump back and just kinda clipped off the stage and died
This game looks good. The only complaintsI have seem are that it does not always work well with the higher graphic levels for some people and that there is this glitch that will randomly free you for one second during bossfights. I have also heard its anti-cheat does not allow for easy modding, but that all sounds mild ad fixable.
A game hasn’t felt this special to me since I first played dark souls 3. These developers are genius and always create a fun and special experience in each game.
@@externalboss9404 cod fans buy shitty cod games every year, sports fans buy shitty sports games very year. Isn’t it crazy that fanbases will buy things their fans of no matter how “same” or shit it is.
@@externalboss9404 Honestly, if all y'all see are the same stuff then you're all just being denial lol. Or just too focus on the similar parts of the games and call them same stuff from there, without looking at the whole picture.
Apparently magrit is programmed to use his throwing knife when you cast a spell or heal, so get 1 spell in from far away before he does that and gap closes, then do another. At best you’ll be able to fit 2 spells inb4 he wrecks your ass
First few hours and first few Margit attempts were an absolute pain because I was playing as a Wretched with little-to-no armour, a club and at Level 3. Somehow ended up in a well with constellations in the sky(?), and only then did I go get geared up. Once you get into the flow of the game, it becomes much simpler, although I'm still getting used to a couple of the control changes and how light the movement feels. Great first impressions so far, excited to explore the castle and finally get armour.
7:02 Funny enough, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood for PS2 was very Souls like in that it was frustratingly challenging at times and had of course.....dodge roll. Seriously one of the hardest license anime games ever made. It never got localized but it got an English fan translation patch.
This game is so fun man im having a blast. I started as a Wretch and it has been pretty fun being so underpowered. 6 hours in and i still dont have any chest armor
Loving it - my only two gripes are the stupid bird enemies - they are way too aggressive in groups. The tree lizard looking boss - wtf am I meant to do😂summoned 2 guys for help & it demolished us in less than 20 seconds😂
I made him jump off the edge. The wolves kept making Margit proc his jump back move with the throwing dagger until he was stuck in a corner. He then teleported, disappearing for 5 seconds then appearing flat on his back falling off the edge. Glorious
