what happens if the two best players in tww2 are forced to play what are considered the 2 worst factions with roughly half (at most) of their army value being chosen by their opponent how janky will the armies be and how do they compensate
The council guard fighting down to the last rat to protect their lord is so badass. Who’d have thought that the skaven of all factions would have the most loyal unit in the game
Because the council guard are awesome in the lore, iirc they're also known as the Albino guard? The council scares them so much they lose the color of their fur and become all white and are 100% loyal because they no longer fear any torture or death as much as they fear the councils wrath. This would be boring for basically anyone but the skaven.
I have absolutely no idea what is going on. There's no Yari Ashigaru here. Why is there a massive beast trampling around. Where did that lady get the bird from, and how can the Takeda abuse them. Fun stuff tho.
amazed how the skaven, at every point where it looks like it should be game over, manage to survive and threaten their opponent. like it seemed to me they were 'losing' the entire match and yet they win

PhiliChez true. But I also like the idea of Sigmar becoming the emperor on the golden throne 40k years after the events in all these battles that take place. That being said...you don’t find many Dawi in 40k...they didn’t make it:/
@@thethreeedgedsword7253 Actually there have been references to the squats in the 40k lore recently, though mostly as individuals not as a faction. (Though there was an interesting mechanicum transmission transcript which might indicate more, thats still in realm of conspiracy 8D)
As much as I was cheering for Felkon and the HE, Sooth was really smart here in knowing the type of builds that Felkon typically brings. This build would've been in trouble against a bunch of shadow warriors, but Felkon rarely goes with super missile heavy builds.
@@kano101435 warps are mainly for forcing Felkon to advance. Also that's the rule of tourni, armies with lower range have to advance, as I remember. If Skaven doesn't bring arti or range they would have to advance, and no way skaven can catch a cav army
@@Fly-the-Light Its hard to say. I think you could make a good argument that Aerocrastic and Lotus Moon are in the top 5 as well when it comes to competitive players. but there are maybe 15 or so that all right there at the top and stand a good shot at beating each other on any given day
This was the first multiplayer match I've watched. Great commentary and interesting to see just how different the multiplayer battles are compared to campaign. I rarely if ever use rangers in campaign
Glad you mentioned the warp-shard armor; I'm mostly through a(nother) Skrolk campaign, and that stuff is pure evil. Pop it on a durable lord/hero like Skrolk or a hardy Grey Seer and watch armies melt.
I just couldn't see the Skaven winning at all. The difference in the power of the units is just too much.... But he put up an AMAZING fight, he did far better than I expected. That was a fanatstic battle I'm gobsmacked!!!
You’d be surprised how far Skaven can get you in these mobile missile matches. I fought a guy earlier on who had a similar HE build and I thought “no way I stand a chance” I had 4 rat ogres Throt and one abomination with slaves somehow I managed to pull of a win when the HE player tried to kill my plague priest with Imrik. Point is Skaven slaves are perfect meat shields that’s how you win

Why would they? Obviously the lady's best invention was a noble steed, a solid lance and a man's(or woman's) strong arms to wield them. Such is the lady's will!
while these tournaments definitely show alot of skill in selecting units and playing out a battle, id love to see competitive players play a campaign, but it would be good if Total war could develop a much smaller circle like map for it A campaign can really change everything and test a player
woah i would have thought the elves were winning the whole game and ten the skaven just randomly wins. Great callouts on this match and explaining exactly what's going on. I don't think i'm smart enough to play this game but I try anyway lol
Don't forget that these players are the best of the best, your average multiplayer battle wont be nearly so complicated so don't be scared to give it a try.
The Skaven box formation cost less, than the HElfs who died, while breaking it. Getting rid of the cannons, early, is what made it a who dies first toss-up, between the Engineer and the Nobles. Like any RTS, it'll take a lot of practice, but you'll get there.
The skaven invested a lot of their power in their core of multiple heroes. High elves had more powerful, expensive units but only one hero. Still, the battle was insanely close and even one more charge or a little bit of extra hp on the high elf chariot could have won it for him.
Oh, yeah. Google something, like "RTS game training" or the like, and you'll find tons of tutorials, from Ye Olden Days of Starcraft. It was in a lot of peoples' financial interest to get as many non-RTS players, as possible, to git gud enough at the genre to feel comfortable with competitive play.
This is one of those matches where the battle is worth more than victory. Such skill and tenacity flaring up in a blaze of glorious combat warms my soul. Thanks for casting this, Indy, I would have missed it otherwise.
14:58 I felt so sorry for Felkon there. The way the Noble chariot wasn't able to pull off that charge was BS and could have won Felkon the game if it hadn't suddenly grinded to a screeching halt for no reason. Amazing battle regardless
I think it hit a unit before it entered its charge, and when it went to normal attack it was micro-Ed out. That or some wierd charge brace mechanic that kicked in incorrect. Shit like that is why I don’t use chariots.
Indeed but lets have a shout out for ma boy Sooth - showing why he is STILL the benchmark for greatness when it comes to TW2 MP , i counted a number of times the BOP was sliding out of control but yet he still walks a way with victory The Blessings of Ulric are with this one for he is the last of the Umberogen
Ehh I don't think it really would've mattered. We all know about how awkward cav/chariot charges are in how they'll often send lords/heroes on foot flying without doing any damage. I don't think he would've been able to get enough damage off against Skrolk and the Assassin before breaking/dying even if he got a full charge.
Third time I'm watching this match- live for the first time and on Felkon's stream for the second but this match is still a pleasure to watch. Indy's ability to build hype brings this to a whole new level. Really hope you cast the DE vs NRS match too if possible.

This is what I love about this channel. Epic music, informative and entertaining commentary, intense battles between top-level players, and the gorgeous cinematics to boot. Lotus is absolutely an amazing player. But I dont think he's demonstrated the consistency or sheer amount of #1 or #2 placements Felkon and Sooth have on big stages
@@milkandcookiesTW Not disputing any statements that they are very consitant and great players but i simply don't participate in events as the time slot they start for me really sucks :(, most start at 2 to 3AM my time and dont finish until 9 or so am, after about 3 games i simply dont enjoy playing at that time, not to say i would win or not but its the reason that i participate in an event once every few months. But going about consistency of placements in events i agree those two + Xhiphos should be considered best out there, if we include just important events i would add AERO to the list also.
Had a game like this today with even lower numbers left for a win. Me + Very Hard A.I. vs two players. We were losing horribly but surprisingly proper Dwarven Rangers won the day haha! I only had a Thane and two barely surviving ranger units 18/13 troops and elf ally had 2 units of 12/21 starshafts. Was so much fun!
Wow this is getting close to top level Starcraft content both in terms of commentary and more importantly gameplay as well, the strategy and micro from both players were just incredible!
probably both expected the other to go that way and thus surprise the foe with a semi-full melee. That Skaven build could out-gun most ranged units (at least from distance, for a while, with cannons) while HE would have destroyed any Gezells or WarpMachine Guns.
using the Less Blood and Gore mod. but if you have less animations, its likely because your settings aren't on Ultra. i think some animations dont play unless you have close to maxed out settings
Hell pit abomination + 1 LL, 1 Plague priest and 1 Warlock engineer. And a lot of meat shield. Can already tell the entire Skaven force besides 6 units were all expendable and only there to soften up the elf forces as much as possible so the other 6 can do the rest.
New to the channel - really enjoyed watching this... I’m a campaign only player, dabbling in online but man am I a rookie! Great video. The horror of the micro management terrifies me haha! Loved how you recorded this video and props for the Halo soundtrack!
