Remember if you’re water fasting for longer than 3 days please get some salt in. Other electrolytes are also encouraged like potassium and magnesium but sodium is a must
You are correct. I worked on a psych ward and had a guy that had drank nothing but gallons of water for days was brought in on a form 1 , he was bat shit crazy as he had washed amost all of the electrolites out of himself. In the end. It could have lead to siezures or heart attack. A few days of proper medical treatment he was as right as rain again.
I got to Day 10 , never felt clarity or more energy but I did gain a new appreciation for food. I never realised how much I looked forward to meal times and then when I did eat things tasted better and I savoured the smallest thing rather than mindlessly eating.
I made it to 5 or 6 days before and was only ever progressively worse. At the end I had found two accounts of two people who did water only fasts for 20-30 days and both described feeling “better” only intermittently after about 12-14 days but only slightly. I gave up on mine when one account described day 18 or 19 as “the worst day by far.”
Lol. After 7 days, I developed a craving for Brussels sprouts, a food that up until then, I couldn't stand! And ever since - the last 40+ yrs - I've loved them, 😂😂😂! Had some today, in fact, even tho' I mostly eat a carnivore diet! (it's healing my arthritis!)! 😉
How to prepare yourself for long fasting: Step 1: Get rid of your family to avoid temptations. Step 2: Don't miss step 1. Make sure they wont come back to feed you
Ugh I did for it for over a week a couple years ago and all I got was some awful headaches and being dizzy, faint & hungry literally ALL the time. Needless to say my blood sugar dropped dangerously low and fainted so I DON'T recommend this this to anyone
So true. Because if you pray about and ask the holy spirit to give you strength to stay away from food and you're born to eat. You last for 3 days even 2. The happy feeling knowing it wasn't you alone omg you know it was Jehovah God.
It’s 30 December 2022 I thought I was hearing things thank God I saw this comment I was looking for a sign to keep on doing fasting I noticed I started seeing visions as well of like the future and wars and shooting
I went 3days ester then continue till 7 on water, 2nd day i was in night vision in heavenlies and seen host of Heaven, dear Lord Jesus they are bright white light, millions of them, and are ready, 4winged angel told to prepare for coming of Creator...have a blessed life,Jesus is Truth
I never thought of it like a high but yeah, once you reach like day 4 it's like your hungry, but the hunger no longer bothers you. I don't have an eating disorder but I've fasted before
@@kokolatte825 No it takes a while for the build up, so it's more like when it's been months with nothing but coffee with Splenda Between that and running, I was always high with dopamine. Btw, this is no joke, refeeding syndrome kills. What I had was a horrible illness harder to kick than a crack addiction
I did this for 7 days. Day 3 was when the headaches set in. I simply researched and added Himalayan salt to my water for trace minerals ....alleviated the headaches immediately.
Yes, this is a method that I know works but I discovered by accident when visiting Africa, saltwater was drank as a meal supplement because there was no food and though it wasn't the meal of choice, nobody died from starvation either
I'm 58 yrs young currently 162 hours into a 7 day water fast. I'm type 2 diabetic and am doing this to lower my morning blood sugar set point. I didnt get the headaches I think because I made sure to add Himalayan salt to my water. It's extremely important to replace the electrolytes your body is releasing during a water fast. I also took All my regular vitamins because I didn't want to lose my hair or become dizzy/faint because I'm generally anemic without my iron vitamins. My body didnt start creating ketones till the last 6 hours of day 3. I only walked for about 40 minutes 4 days of the week. My blood sugars were in the high 9's and are now in the low 7's and I reduced my weight by about 8 pounds and lost 1.5 inches around my waist. I'm going to start the refeeding process tomorrow morning around 11 am with a tablespoon of either olive oil or coconut oil. Then just bone broth, soups and green juices for 3 days with sauerkraut on the third day to prepare my gut lining with good bacteria to digest the solid foods I'll begin on the 4th day. Hope this helps someone here.🎉❤😊
That sounds like a great plan. Maybe u should have ur juices from a blender and not a juicer so u can keep the fiber, which helps feed ur gut. Plus, u won't get the crazy sugar spikes. Steam ur vegetables and have those bf ur fruit juices. Helps with sugar spikes as well. Good for u. Dr Jason Fung is an Endocrinologist on Utube he talks abt DM2 and intermittent fasting. U seem very knowledgeable. He could add. Also, the order in which u eat foods could also control spikes... Salads, Fat, proteins, carbs, starches, sweets. It has worked for me. Congrats on ur self-control in ur fast. Also, ur fat soluble vitamins need fat in ur diet to be absorbed...A,D,E,K...
I have done Keto on and off for years. It takes about three days to burn your sugar stored in the liver. Then Ketosis. I use to use urine test strips to measure my level of Ketosis. I am 53yo now. I have to stops Keto due to my eGrf numbers growing low. After stopping my egrf numbers went up again. From 51 back to 64. Hopefully I get get this back to 70+. Diet is everything.
I did a 21 day water fast. Went from 264 to 221. I’d say day 1-6 were the hardest. After that you really don’t crave food. I went out with friends and had no issue with them eating in front of me. Make sure you’re hydrated because if you don’t you definitely feel it
@@tashliketrash9350 I did water fasting for 4 days 2 times a month and I lost 4 kg almost. Main thing is to maintain that weight after fasting. Better you should do dieting and exercises afterwards
There actually has been research where you feel hungry during your usual eating times. It actually will never get worse, it goes in waves of hunger and will never go away.
I've noticed this! I get super hungry around breakfast time, but if I don't eat I feel fine after an hour or two. Thin I get hungry at lunch time and the same thing happens if I skip! I haven't ever tried to fast, but I'm really curious to see what it would be like and how long I could go.
@@legendairy9054 agreed it took months in order to gain my appetite back. I fasted for longer than 21 days though, I went from 195 to 155. My body stole me when it was ready to start consuming what I previously did before.
@@treelicker lol I think it would be more challenging than you think, jus doing it jus for the sake of trying without a catalyst or a really good reason. Being extremely overweight, unhappy with your body, I mean to the point where you cry at while looking at your reflection in the mirror, poverty, depression, truth seeking, Ext. I couldn’t imagine jus waking up and not eating jus because you want to try something new, when there is ramen noodles in thaw cabinet 😜
@@keithsaunders3378 I mean, ultimately it's just mind over matter. It just depends on how much willpower you have. Having an emotional reason, such as hating your body, can definitely give you willpower, but it's possible just to do it too.
It’s indeed 100% mental, as we are “gods couched in creaturehood”-with Divine Power & Authority to rule/reign over our mind & body, which The Bible calls “the Earth & all its inhabitants”.
Make sure to be careful going into any diets, especially fasting, if you have a history of mental health issues related to weight and or eating. I used to do intermittent fasting, and I lost weight. However, I also gained a very unhealthy relationship with food, had seriously disordered eating, and was on the verge of becoming full on bulimic. I'm not trying to say this will happen to everyone. It works great for some people. Definitely talk to a doctor about it before starting. I wish I had, and it's taken over a year to get out of that mindset.
Very true. I also suggest looking into different ways to do it. Find a method that’s sustainable to your lifestyle and not extreme. I know a lot of people who do the whole intermittent fasting and what works for them is that their approach is moderation, not starvation. Like, eg before the day they fast they’ll actually prepare themselves by eating high fiber meals. Like the the point isn’t to suffer ya know? You’re not punishing your body. You’re trying to teach it better control. But I definitely agree it’s not the best idea if you already have a wobbly relationship with food.
Wait what?? Am I suffering from eating disorder then? I dont get hungry or has the desire to eat.. i have no appetite i skip breakfast daily and i eat less when i am already very thin from childhood …smh
This is only if you don’t incorporate exercise and eat healthily. You also should implement multiple supplements in your diet You have to have the right ideas and mindset for it.
Sister, when someone goes from starving themselves to eating a lot very quickly, the intense and rapid change in electrolytes can be extremely overwhelming to the body. From what I understand, introducing nutrition again needs to happen at a pace.
Which makes sense because when someone goes into this ketosis, it's a starvation ketosis. Your body thinks you are starving and switches how it functions to be able to survive. Well, if you're actually not starving, and you suddenly eat a lot of food, your body isn't in the state of constant nutrition and isn't currently able to handle a normal load of nutrients at that time
I actually fasted for twenty three (23) days only drinking water. The first 7-10 days was most difficult and then the hunger pains subsided. There were headaches and low energy but not agitated.
I actually do this twice a year, never to lose weight but for mental clarity and happiness. As soon as I'm on the brink of underweight I stop, which is around day 13/14. And I have no issue cooking for my family. actually, reading recipes and coming up with new ones is kind of the dirty pleasure of fasting...all that anticipation and being psyched about the most basic things like cheese and bread.. Makes you appreciate food so much! Can only recommend it.
This is accurate! I did it for 22 days! I lost 100 pounds in a year doing this. First lost 16 pounds. I thought it would have made me sick. But it was the most powerful transformation that I have ever experienced..
Hii hope you're having a good day.. can you please let me know that does water fasting leads to hairloss? Coz I've been already losing hair, and I want to lose weight but my granny's telling me to keep eating well to have good hair.. yet I've been losing hair.. due to this I've gained a lot of weight and I was looking for something like this.. so how are you doing with your health and does this affect hair?
On my first 25 day water fast day 10-20 was pure euphoria. Not hungry at all. In fact I cooked and baked for my family during that time. I'm currently on day 28 of a water fast and I feel pretty amazing. Tired but in total control of my desire to eat.
Mostly caused by indigestion. I tried intermittent fasting while drinking black coffee and water, so far it works. Planning on starvation fasting with coffee and water later.
My long experience: I did this for 28 days and well I’m still here. Lost 38lb and my muscles didn’t get smaller. After the first week you forget about eating and the urge is not as bad. My energy was off the roof after the first week. The first week is the worse. A tea spoon of apple cider vinegar every morning and every 2 days a half tea spoon of salt in a water bottle with some vitamins. You really have temptations but if you get through it, your discipline towards food and eating will thank you. Don’t do much activity if you decided to do it. I used to light walk for 30 minutes and lay in bed the rest of the day. Drink water whenever you feel hunger, Cold is best and sleep most of the time, you burn a lot of fat sleeping. Obviously after a while you only go pee but there comes a time when you are around food and you feel no need to eat. Around day 10-12. I have not gained any of the weight back and it’s been a year. I started the gym after and I maintain. I did this twice in my life. 2014 and 2020. If you have no health conditions and no eating disorder, go get checked at the doctor before starting if it your first time. When you start eating again, Start with broth straight from the carton and watermelon for a day or 2. Than mash with no butter and boiled chicken. The refeeding is actually the most dangerous. I went from 210 to 172. When I refed I was at 179. Now 177. Do not take my experience as your own. I am only 25 with no health conditions ever thank god, so do it at your own risk. I’m not an expert, just a fellow trier. Yes I looked younger and my skin was vibrant and clear, my hair grow more and now I get full from 2 slices of pizza while before I ate the whole box. Doesn’t mean you’ll be the same.
I fasted for 30 days. I lost 40 pounds, gained 5 after eating (colon refilled). After day 3, not hungry at all, your body stops producing the hunger hormone. I never felt better.
Now this is what I'm talking about! Weight automatically comes off when fasting. However, my main concern is my health. Today is day one for me and I barely had any pain. I'm more at peace as I connect with my Lord and Savior. Everyone has there process and it dosen't all look the same. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏽✝️🔥
Awesome! Read this thin book from the 1900s. “Atomic power with God thru fasting and prayer” by Franklin Hall. Great testimonies. Be very careful how you break a long term fast. Which I’m sure you know. 😊
I‘ve water fasted for 5 days once and it was really weird :D - I was hungry the first few days but it wasn’t that bad. I think having a big breakfast and then not having anything until evening makes me hungrier. - I wanted to walk very much but only very slowly, as I didn’t have the energy to walk fast. But it felt like I could slow walk all day. - I had weird fantasies about going and living in the woods for a few days, probably because I felt really free and independent of food. - The watermelon I ate to break my fast tasted absolutely amazing, and it felt like I could taste a wider range of tastes in my food. This effect unfortunately faded quickly in 1-2 days.
The longest I did was 19 days. Lost 19 pounds. Days 1-4 were the worst for me. Definitely easier after day 5. About 2 weeks in, I was incredibly fine not eating and even energetic. Didn’t realize how much extra time I had in the day when I wasn’t cooking or eating. Broke the fast with soup.
I did intermittent fasting for a month along with keto and lost 20 lbs. I didn't really feel hungry. I took cucumbers to work with me to munch on and since they are mostly water, they didn't raise my insulin levels enough to break the fast. I ate 2 times a day, once every 12 hours, and allowed a 1 hour window with which to eat.. My skin looked amazing and I felt really good.
20 pounds in one month is not healthy. The healthy amount of weight to lose is 1-2 pounds a week, which is at most 8 pounds a month. I lost 30 pounds last year over the course of 6 months or so and have maintained it just by gradually eating better foods, no fasting, no restricting at all really. I just replaced unhealthy foods that I liked with healthy foods that I also liked. I ate however many times a day I wanted but just kept calories tracked and made sure that everything I ate was providing the nutrients I needed. Myfitnesspal helped because it broke down my nutrients as well so I could make sure I was getting enough iron, potassium, calcium, etc.
@@umopepisdn. I went from being almost stationary to moving aroun 8-10 hours for.work, plus weighing 300 lbs. People who have alot more weight to lose generally start off losing rapidly. Part of it might have been water weight because I was hypertensive. I promise I didn't starve myself or do without nutrients.
I went over a month with jus water and probably jus a dinner plate of food through out the entire fast, which I didn’t know I was fasting jus, not eating. I went from 195 to 155 no exaggeration.
@@keithsaunders3378 did you feel ok? I can't feel any worse than I do now. Between the leftover covid symptoms and my hypothyroidism, I am so exhausted I just want to sleep as soon as I wake up.. I know once I lose some weight that will help too..
I've been doing this off and on since 2016. I have gotten my health back and have dealt with a lot of chronic illnesses before. I started out at above 340 lb and am now teetering a weight around 200. The longest I was ever able to go with 17 days and on that day the blood volume that I had lost was too much for me to bear and it scared me. But I'm about to see if I can do a 30-day fast. Every time I do this it's like it resets my body and all of my health problems seem to go away and feel like I'm 17 again. The first three days as long as you just keep guzzling water you will not be that hungry. Between day for 28 usually go through a healing crisis so your body starts to deal with the parts of your body that need the most work. And after about day 3 you no longer have hunger. But you will start to fantasize about food.
When I was at my highest (320 lbs) I did a 3 week fast where I only drank water. I didn't lose much weight, but that wasn't the point. I did it to get my appetite down, cleanse my body, and enter keto. 6 months later I was down to 215 and got to finally visit my friend in Colorado to go hiking with him. If you ever want to hit the reset button, do this, but remember that it will take a strong mind and a commitment to stay on track.
I'm like semi low 400s and this has given me some food for thought over should I do this and now I atleast found a comment like yours i might actually go through with it because I direly need a reset button
@@koalanutsama1851 Do what works for you. What matters mathematically is that you consume less calories than the amount you are burning. Do what is actually feasible for you-not a diet you’ll only do for a month.
I started 9 months ago @430lbs, I was obsessed with food, thought I'd die if I didn't eat for 24 hours 😂🤣 now, I only really eat socially, which averages out to about one meal every 7 days or so (I don't even count now!). I seen someone do keto for several months. Eat one Thanksgiving meal and let go one day. Its like his body stored up every bite. Weirdest and most unnatural thing I've ever seen.
I did 12 days a few years ago The hardest part for me was the sleeping and waking up portion Hard to sleep when starving Hard to control urges when hungry in the morning But after a few days it wasn’t as bad
@@mariaflips1882 The more fat on your body, the longer you can fast for. I've heard of an obese man fasting on just water and electrolytes for 3 years to overcome his obesity. He didn't die either. Your body just starts burning the fat away for energy. Water and sleep are much more vital than food. I could probably only fast for a month because if I lose more than 30 pounds I would be under weight for sure. Find out the healthy weight range for your sex and height, then fast until you are in that range then just continue with a healthy diet following it so you don't gain the weight back. If you have health complications then talk to your doctor beforehand and do NOT work out while fasting. Walking and maybe light jogging should be fine but nothing too strenuous. Take electrolytes also.
I started a 6 month water fast today. I am being monitored by my doctor. I’m 367 pounds and I’m 5’4”. I have water fasted before for 90 days and it was amazing. You did good! It takes a lot of will power to go that long. TW: eating disorders i feel like things like this can be dangerous to youth at risk for eating disorders. When i was 13, i was eating 300-500 calories a day, i could barely function and was starting to fail school. The longest without eating i got was 36 hours. By then even standing up made me almost faint. And at that point I was 89 pounds and didn’t have much fat for my body to survive off of when i wasn’t eating. I’m also now diagnosed w POTS, so that could’ve been dangerous for me. If i saw videos like these when i was 13, it would just motivate me to starve myself more.
Well fasting and having an eating disorder are different. Coming from someone who has experiences with both, fasting is far better and allows your body to actually feel healthy. Eating disorder on the other hand was horrible, gave myself just enough calories to want food and rely on it, but not enough to allow my body to function normally.

I highly doubt you lost 3 kg of fat in 3 days unless you managed to burn >7000 calories a day for 3 days while eating nothing and having a slow metabolism because you haven’t eaten. Most of that lost weight was because you had no food in your stomach
@@diogenes5850 well yes I guess, I used the weighing machine for those 3 days and that was the result. And yes, probably because i wasn't eating. I ended up doing 21 days and stopped because I really got sick. I had to stop or go to emerg. Throughout the fast I had slight nausea constantly. But on day 16- 19 my nausea was so bad I think it affected my water intake. My ketones were also as high as the urine test strip went, like a dark plum color. Day 19-21 I could barely move. On day 21 I may have kind of went into some kind of unconsciousness or coma like sleep for maybe an hour? When I woke up I was really scared and that’s when I started considering calling an ambulance or going to emergency. By 10 pm I made my way to the kitchen and heated some bone broth and over the next 3 days progressed to boiled veggies and broth .
I’m currently on day 4. My record is 6 days. I’ve been practicing for years and encourage everyone to do 24h every week to help manage temptations and allow your body to catch up on cell cleansing. Aging is caused by cell not being able to get rid of waste faster than the body is taking it in
I did a full on water fast for 33 days. I knew I had to eat again and didn’t want to because I felt the divine energy of the universe coursing through my veins. I only had to sleep 4 hrs a night and felt buzzing all day long. It was so amazing and I never felt better. All my inflammation went away. Amazing. I try to do it every year. It’s incredible. I now fast a few days a week, just because it feels so good.
I've done it before, I went 36 days for spiritual reasons. I was rushed to the hospital on the 36th day due to malnutrition. I was sipping on broth before I got back to eating but I felt led to be plant based. One of the best times of my life growing with the Lord (Jesus Christ) ❤️🙏🏾
As an overweight person, this sounds great and I’d be willing ro try it! And then I remembered I take medicine that require me to eat with them and was like, “Oh yeah lol, nvm, back to good ol exercise!”
Hi! I'm in the same boat. I was very sick taking 100 capsules a day. I did a 5 day fast and had MISO broth with my meds and I was good! Definitely worth trying
If you're overweight, this is not going to help you at all. You'll end up fatter because after ending that stupid starvation period you'll want to eat and guess what you'll choose?? The same old junk food you've been eating your whole life. Except that you'll eat even more because your body will be extremely hungry and your metabolism will have slowed down. If you're serious about losing weight, change your eating habits.
I used to water fast for 40 days at a time as a kid. My mother made it to be a religious thing but the truth is, she was highly toxic, manipulative and abusive and didn't want me anywhere near her because I was fat. She use to beat me for no reason at all just because she hated me and I can still see the marks from those heatings today on my arms and legs. I used to wear a coat in the summer time to hide the marks and no teacher felt a need to ask me if Ibwas ok. My mother used to pull me around the house by my hair, yank it out and then send me to school like that... with my hair tangled in knots and none of the staff recognize the very clear signs of abuse or they just did not care. I feel so let down by the system. Her treatment and abuse caused severe depression which caused me to turn to food for comfort. That cycle, along with her restricting food as punishment, encouraging me to restrict food as I got older and then rewarded me whenever I lost a noticable amount of weight (which became scary at times) - this has caused severe ED that I still struggle with in adulthood. I went no contact with my toxic family years ago but I feel the damage it caused me every single day.
Longest fast I went on was over 2 weeks. I lost over 15 pounds and I felt much better. I almost never eat and it’s normal to me now. It helped with my BED.
I’ve done this before. And honestly I was amazed at the results. I didn’t have a bad mood. I was hungry, but when you get past that you really just see amazing results. I lost a lot of weight and felt great.
Same did it for 10 days my 2nd year in college. Never did I have headaches, mood swings, or bad sleep. I did sleep a lot though but I still went to class and the gym everyday. Only sucked the first few days while in class u could’ve hear my stomach growling when it was all quiet lol
I think the longest I've ever fasted is like, 2 days. I'm glad that you brought up eating in an 8 hour window is best, also. It's definitely a slow process (especially because my diet is what you'd expect from a trash gremlin), but since January I've successfully lost 75 pounds from fasting/walking everywhere. It is definitely not for everyone, but I find it easier than changing my diet since I'm a picky eater.
Agreed with most of this, didn't have headaches, energy was way up and didn't need the sleep, only about 3 hrs a night. 3 times, 26, 29, and 24 day water only fasts. Doing it again soon, but gout (my issue not others) typically flares half way through. I highly recommend.
(Pretty long comment but plz read till the end): Seeing this brought back so many memories when I was 13-14. Stumbled upon a stupid video like this on how a fat guy's body pain and cramps were relieved by water fasting and how satisfying it was. That made an impact on my delusional young self and so I dug more videos on the topic and convinced my stupid young self that I'd done the research and was ready to go on full water fasting mode. Didn't consult any doctor nor listen to my parents one bit and somehow I managed to survive over a week on just water. Everyone at school would ask why I wasn't eating but I'd get away. Always got bad headaches, cramps, dizziness, fainting, hunger & crazy amounts of hairfall the ENTIRE time. Until one day after a week I literally fainted on the walk from school to home and got admitted to the damn hospital cuz of low blood sugar. Needless to say, I'm 17 now and all well but I'd NEVER recommend this to anyone. Don't listen to ANYONE online, just because it was okay for them does NOT mean it's okay for you and you would NEVER get the satisfaction just from starving yourself till you literally pass out. I still suffer from anorexia and hairloss to this day just because of that idiotic experiment I did when I was young. And one more important point to note here is that no matter how many pounds you lose cuz of water fasting, you'd surely gain it back within at least a week cuz you deprived your body that long without fat, it'd store as much as it can. Absolutely nobody would've read this huge comment till here but if you did thank you so much guys 💖
Well you fainted Got headaches etc. Bc eating is a source for keeping your body alive and water is a source for the throat so only drinking water will cause you to get everything you got,and i think water is important too tho,i got sick from not drinking enough water and had to drink much water because i had brown pee (sorry if it's disgusting) and it's still happening till this day, fasting should be banned for young souls.
I have. I never had headaches. However I was incredibly thirsty starting day 5 and by day 8. I started craving food and by the end of it hallucinating about it 🤣
I do a 3 day dry fast once a month. Start slow with a 24 hour and build up to 3 days. A dry fast means no food and no water ,not even touching water. I used to a 21-day water fast once a year , but switched to the monthly 3 days dry fast, and it's amazing. I have a chronic pain condition, and it's done wonders for my pain.
I did a 16 day water fast years ago. During the first 24 hrs I was ravenous. During the first week I had odd Herxhiemer-like symptoms. Very uncomfortable. The second week I felt great. At the end of the 16 days I broke my fast. But I had no hunger pains after the 1st 24hrs. No lie. On the other hand, I did think about different aspects of food (how beautiful some dishes or fruits looked, how ingenious some cuisines were, etc.) So, maybe that counts as hunger?
@@danleon2756 Yeah, I lost about a pound a day. Just as an FYI, the trickiest part of a fast like that is breaking it. You can't just sit down to a big Mac and fries, or you'll regret it! Gradually reintroduce foods over the course of 5 days to a week. Start with fruit and work your way up.
@@barbrishaw6883 definitely glad I was informed to avoid that. I ate fruit and vegetables to break the fast. But was able to eat normal by the next afternoon
As someone who practises these long fasting for spiritual reasons. All I can say is, if you do this fast or any prolonged fast of morethan 10 days, when you begin to eat, don't just start with solid food, start with soft foods first, because if you start with solid, hard foods, it will upset your insides as your insides would have been in relax mode as they haven't been working for that long. If you make your first thing to eat, a big meal, you might end up in A&E. Plus, try also, strictly vegetarian diet for 21 days, it helps also. It's called the Daniel fast.
Do you poop while fasting? Personally I have severe constipation issues and I would be ready to do this if it meant one week vacation without stressing about going to the toilet.
@@souleymaneadellah1176 are you sure you're getting enough water? Do you take any medication or supplements? Many can clog you up like pain meds or iron. Even if you think you're drinking enough water maybe try to drink more. I hope you find some relief.
I did a 6 day water fast. I got into ketosis within 48 hours. I was sooo hungry until that happened. I spent the rest of the week feeling pretty good, I even worked as a bartender full time. By the last day my blood pressure was too low to sit up without getting dizzy so I ended the fast. I weighed 135 at the start and 122 at the end.
He forgot the part about when you start eating again, your body packs on pounds due to being in starvation ketosis. Sure you might lose 25 plus pounds. And once you eat again you'll gain it right back. I would know, I lost 25 pounds from being ill and I was anorexic as a teen. I got sick at the end of October and lost 25 pounds in 3 weeks. Once I was better again, I started eating and within a week I had ten pounds back- which is good cause I'm pregnant.
I don't know about cases where someone is sick, but I've read a lot of research studies on fasting in healthy adults as well as those with chronic disease. They don't seem to find that fasting affects metabolism, so gaining the weight back is not a concern according to researchers. Calorie restriction does slow metabolism though, so if you eat less or even if you eat very little like one apple a day, once you start eating more you'll gain all the weight back since your metabolism has adjusted to consuming only the apple. It only works in your favor if you do a full fast and don't consume calories during the fast.
Small intermittent fasts are healthy, but not eating food for 21 days straight has to be bad for you. And I've seen this stuff lead into eating disorders for a lot of people. I wish people would take into consideration their own lake of self control when dieting. We gain too much weight as a result of this and fasting can lead into a further unhealthy relationship with food.
I did 3 weeks on water and clarity of mind comes a lot sooner than that. Withdrawing coffee was the worst, Eating again has to happen slowly or you can fk yourself up. I had a tin of soup to break my 21 day fast and it was the best thing i have ever eaten, that was 20 years ago now and I still cry with gratitude if i think about it. if you do a long fast you need to start eating again slowly, watered down fruit juice. My ADHD and autism was gone
Lol, this just sounds how you stop the hunger pains when you're too poor to afford food. At least, that's what I did. Granted, it wasn't my goal and I would eat every few days, but Water was a way to get temporary relief.
I'm sorry that you went through this..I've been there myself! I will always keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you and your family never suffer again!
Hello, I'm going through something similar right now. Although the longest I went without eating was only a week, I still sympathize deeply with anyone that hasn't had a hot meal today and maybe even for months yet because they can't afford it. I pray for them that they can at least have warm bread and water. I hope times have gotten easier and you can eat as many meals a day as you want. If you believe in Jesus, may God bless you and if you don't, then still have a wonderful day!
You all have been kind with your words. Thank you. I got out of the situation fairly recently. Being in that position gave me empathy towards others, however it also gave me a lot of cynicism towards others, as well. I am actually talking down to people here. I am making a statement about how 'wrong' this diet is. It's acting like this is a diet and some unique thing. It's literally telling fat-americans stop being so fucking fat. We're fat because we have the money to be fat and it's those who struggle that don't have the luxury of choosing to spend shit tons of money on food that isn't needed. We wonder why Americans are obese. And, not what Americans call Obese but actual medically obese; we call obese people fat and fat people normal and normal people skinny. This problem comes down to the massive wealth divide on our planet too. I'd say 'our country' but it's a problem the entire planet is facing. So much wealth is being concentrated other people don't have a chance or opportunity to get themselves out of a situation which they can't feed themselves. Americans don't want to recognize that wealth *IS* a Zero-Sum situation. There isn't infinite wealth on this planet or in the universe. There's a limit and we're getting to that limit quickly.
