Thanks Paul for commenting about recent events in the city. The club have had contact from concerned families who have tickets to the friendly this weekend. Majority of Liverpudlians and very friendly and welcoming. Truly are!! You get a minority of mindless idiots in every town and city unfortunately.
What's it got to do with race? Even if you're generally against people coming in who are from different cultures, etc, that's not about their skin colour, is it?
I'm guessing the 4-3-3 comment is more towards attacking shape. In a 4-2-3-1 you'd expect the double pivot to move as a unit and stay somewhat on the same line. With the staggered lines you also get different roles in joining the attack. The more defensive minded pivot (Wieffer who went to Brighton last year at Feyenoord) kept the defensive structure solid and stayed back a bit more, whereas the other pivot (Quinten Timber, Arsenal players brother) had the license to break the lines. Arne Slot has been quoted during his Feyenoord years to love runs into zone 14/the hot zone around the penalty spot as these are much harder to track. He'll overload the center, switch the play to create one on ones on the wings and then have a low cross into the striker or more likely the runners into the hot zone now that everyone is focussing on the strikers run. I love how Liverpool will be so hard to play against, Feyenoord was also good on the counter attack at times, but Liverpool is a quality above that. Combine that with some of De Zerbi/Arteta/Guardiola hybrid tactics when there is no clearly available counter attack possibility and you have a team that's really tough to beat.

I find it a little weird how we say carvalho shouldn't stay because he's 3rd choice in 2 positions but Joe Gomez is the exact same and doesn't get treated the same
What I liked about Slot after the utd game, was how he wasn't fully happy with the performance. He knew we still gave away too many chances and on another day, utd would've scored 3 goals too.
If Jürgen was in charge he would of spoken about what happened last week in Stockport because of his unique statesmanship approach. That wouldn't be expected of slot which is a good thing for him to focus on the football
New set looks great, content is great but I don't understand how Redmen has been around this long and has such terrible audio quality. Not sure if it's the equipment, the audio engineer or what but it always sounds distorted at conversation level and anytime anyone gets even slightly louder it clips so badly it's hard to listen to. It's every video.

I agree with Chris. Ive always liked Jones never had a problem with him. Has a role in the team. However besides his goal I have not been too impressed with him in pre season. Caught on the ball a lot and at times. Also Slot clearly wants him to hit the positive risker pass that breaks the press he fails to play it when it's made free. He will get better I know he will or Slot will adopt to get the best out of him. Like getting him a little more up the pitch. To me it's not an issue I think it's learning the role and overthinking his instructions. Few more games and training sessions and should be all good.
Great to see you back Paul and well said regarding the far-right riots. Nobody decides the colour of their skin and for people to not see that is small-minded and having a fascist mind set. We are human beings and humanity needs to be better educated regarding events similar to and including this.

100 % agreed. Too slow. Not cut out for Slotball. The same goes for Robbo, Endo, Konate, and Nunez. They dont simply have what it takes technically to one-touch pass the ball correctly and quickly.
Nunez might be the outlier because he doesn’t have to do the quick one touch stuff. He just has to make runs, stretch the play and score. Robbo it prob doesn’t suit him but we’ll see. Hopefully Konate improves but it’s a concern. Endo is defo no more than a squad player for slot.
@rickys7435 I suggest you go and watch some Feyenoord games under Slots leadership. His style of play takes a versatile and somewhat technical player. Look at Guardiolas players. None of them are one-skill players. Robbo, Jones, and Nunez will not handle fast one-touch high-pace Slotball
Firstly Haaland is about as pure a goal scorer as you’re going to find. So that undermines your own argument. Secondly if you want to write off all our players before they have even played a competitive game under slot, then that’s up to you. Personally I’ll wait until I have seen them in action first and then make a judgement. You do you though.
Curtis jones in that deep position isn't the one holding the ball to long further forward fine he gets injured a lot aswell we definitely have better but we need that dm in the door to add a bit more defensive solidarity, gravenbirch has more attributes that i like in that deep position than jones. Slot seems very no nonsense which is what we need
That we have just sold a natural goalscorer in cavaliho hope you do well in your new club never given a chance at liverpool I predict he will score more goals than Nunez and gakpo
Arne Slot has made me believe again! I was suspicious of him but have been watching closely and he seems smart, authoratitive & capable of keeping us competitive / challenging for the league. BTW it was good that you guys put in a message to address the recent news because the city has got some bad press thanks to the actions of some simpletons. those same guys attacking the mosque will be cheerin on Mo Salah and Idrissa Gueye every weekend.

Liverpool FC are a sell to buy club who don't sell players anymore unless we get crazy sums of money. Hey guess what FFP or whatever it's called these days means lesser clubs can no longer pay fortunes for LFCs less important players. I think a ball winning midfielder would be good as long as he is amazing a winning the ball - imagine a 24 year old Kanye in the Liverpool midfield. Also the disrespect Erik Ten Haag gets here is crazy - there is only City who have been more successful then Manure in the last 2 seasons. I bet if after 2 seasons under Slot LFC have 1 top 4 qualification, 1 carling cup and 1 FA cup I bet most LFC fans would be happy with that. In fact if Slot is a better manager he should do better than that, because he has a better squad of players. We will see.
