I've heard of Senior Cisco network engineer. I've went to a technical college and took some cisco courses and have my Net+ and Security+ certification from CompTIA. Im not working in the IT field but that Cisco network engineer is a highly paid position in the six figures for sure

I had a similar background as you. I had 3 major certs, MCSE, CCNA, and the biggie back in the day CISSP. So I can relate to you. The one thing you should be emphasizing to your followers that enables your lifestyle is not having to support a family. I came close a couple of times marrying and having a family but didn't. Because of not having a family it allowed me to own a 250k home mortgage-free (3 years), a new $45k electric car and a $30k toy car while being fully retired from the military. Both of my 2019 cars will be paid off next year. I haven't had a job going on 5 years now thanks to my $60k/yr pension. The point of my story to those reading this, is if you decide to have a family do not press your luck with high-end cars and living the high-life to impress your friends. You can't do it while you are still in the middle of your career without going into massive debt and risking bankruptcy. Wait till you are older before going for the toys. My goal in life was to own a home and be debt free by 50 and I did it. Then I decided it was time for the toys and here I am writing about it. It feels good being able to leave the rat race at 46. You can do it too if you play it smart and work the 401k or pension right.

I can relate I’m a Principal Technical Architect and pays great. I started from the bottom and now at the top. My career allowed me to have the good things in life and enabled me to buy my charger and soon to purchase my Corvette. My education level is the same as you. The only thing I hate is high paying taxes, and I’m sure you know about that.

So I saw the first video, and thought the same as everyone else. My next door neighbor is a tech guy, owns a Mustang GT, and a nice Lexus, no wife, or kids, huge house, and you'd assume a bit nerdy, but really just the quiet type. Bro, you got me so hyped. I needed this. I'm probably the same age as you. I work as a RN in the city and I am fed up. Got 3 houses (Multi-fam in the Bronx, rental house in a foreign country, the main house in Rockland County) with the wife and the kid. No exotic cars, just plain janes! However, the sky is the limit and working for someone else and making them rich is annoying the hell outta me! I am sure its too late to pursue Cisco and MSME at this age, but the video keeps me motivated and my eyes are wide open looking for opportunities. Peace! #TeamJMC

Just watching some C8 content while I'm still at 3000. As soon as I heard Cisco engineer, I was like okay I need to listen as you aren't JUST a YT. I've been a similar path, after military, earned the MS certs, then added Cisco certs, then security certs. Now a senior level architect, I'm doing well and very blessed to live in an amazing house, very nice toys, and love life. I take a lot of time researching wealth, business, etc. I know someone who works a job very similar to yours with cisco certifications (and corporate idiots you have to work with). While watching this video I realized one thing, this guy knows what's he f******* talking about. He's not the stupid ad with some guy spewing BS about how to get rich through his program. Hey man, glad your hard work paid off -- I would take someone who grinds over someone with 140 IQ any day of the week. Not saying you lack that, just saying grinders end up winning in the end. College isn't about learning technical skills needed for a job -- its good for seeing that you can put your head down, soldier on and do the work and finish something. It helps you learn how to learn. Keep on keepin on my man.

In my days you had to have a mechanical brain to work on cars or machinery . I had all that and was a # 1 or 2 employee. When computers entered the machine age i struggled , but i did make my retirement. Iv'e seen from your first video i watched that your electronic brain is somewhere i'll never be. But if i had 10 % of your computer knowledge i'd still be working at 70 +. You earned what you've got and many praises that you were gifted in a new time of progress.....................

What do you think about buying a reasonably priced house in a good location on a 15 year loan so you can pay it off quick . Maybe in 10 years or less and enjoy the freedom of no rent or mortgage payment. This is what I have done and the freedom is a very good thing. Also i have been very frugal and have saved an amount of money that further frees me from a 9 to 5. Also during the mortgage payoff period you can customize your home to your personal tastes. Ex. I cannot afford the million dollar mansion but I can afford the top quality carpet , furniture , appliances , electronics , faucets , cabinets etc. And I also have a new Chrysler 300 That gets 31 mpg has 300 hp and and cruises down the hwy at 85 mph easily at less than 2000 rpm. ( THANKS TO THE 8 SPEED TRANY ) I have owned old school big block cars over 500 hp so I know a lot about cars. I also own a paid off nice daily driver work vehicle. I keep a job that I like going to not a job that makes the most money and i can walk out at any time and take as long of a vacation as i want. LIFE IS GOOD !

Your dedication and determination to reading/learning IT from those dry ass IT books is commendable. I've gotten a few IT certs and BS in CompSci but have lost motivation with working in IT. Would rather run an IT business with my employees doing the actual work. Also looking at real estate and being a general contractor because I like building and think it would be awesome to renovate and build homes. Things that I can point at and say "I built that home"

Nice to see someone else doing what I did. I work about 12 hours a week and kill it. 7 vehicles (4 Corvettes) kids, wife, live out in the country on acreage with a big house and fishing pond.. I can't complain. But what most people don't understand, is that it was a LOT of hard work to get where I am, much like yourself. I'm not even much older than you from what I can tell. Great advice dude! True story - had a fellow network buddy tell me over dinner one night that he or another colleague he worked with at a college was to be laid off. The college CFO was looking to trim payroll and figured that with remote access, guys could do stuff from home, thereby reducing the need for so many techies. So what did they do? They monitored CFO and the college dean's entire monthly schedule at the school and quietly implemented "rolling node blackouts" at strategic times. Dean flipped out at CFO and said no way any of those guys are getting cut. #Stillmakingbank #TeamJMC

I was very curious how you could afford those cars and was very impressed with your drive and dedication. I am retired now but I was also very successful in my career as an engineer. Best advise I every got was when I was just starting my career about saving 10% of my salary and investing it in stocks based on the S&P index and did very well with that. I did buy my first new Corvette back in 1981 at 31 years of age and bought my wife a new Cadillac Biarritz in 1982 and in retirement I drive a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport for fun. I am sure you will do very well, a job well done for you. Enjoyed your video. I still love cars and plan to buy a C8 Z06 or Grand Sport in a few years when they come out. #TeamJMC

Wow I really feel many people can relate to you my friend-I started out in community college then the air force, then finally landing a decent job as a field supervisor at a major aviation firm in the east coast, but you can't stop knowledge so we have to keep going-you're an inspiration to many and I have to agree with you that it's a shame that many large companies doesn't want to give the time of day to people who graduated without experience. And for the church to turn you down is so hypocritical of them!

Even 60k to 70k annually in Georgia is good. People shouldn't compare themselves to other people to be happy. I say be satisfied and work with whatever you have instead of trying to keep up with the Joneses

Good video man, and very inspiring story. But let me tell you, as someone who is 32 years old now, and has never made more than $60,000 a year, I wish I didn't waste my last 10 years starting different businesses. I wish I learned a skill and went to work for a company making good money for the first 6-8 years, and THEN started a business on the side. The grass is always greener on the other side. Remember, most businesses fail. Btw, I'm now studying an IT program at a private college, looking to get a job in the next 6 months, as a QA analyst making at least 80-90k p/year. BUT I wish I did it 10 years ago when I was 22.
