As a vegan of 5 years, I would love to have Ben's cooking skills. Everything he makes looks fantastic. Especially that pie at the end. I really love lentils so I feel like I need to make that asap.
I'm flexitarian aka a semivegetarian. What I do is i do a 3/4 day. 3-4days vegetarian the other 3-4 non vegetarian. I mainly on my non days have fish so im mainly like a semi pescaterian. Thats a good way of having balance. I try and keep it 4 days no meat 3 days yes. And what I do is on my non days I have dairy for some protein and on my fish days I avoid dairy since i'm already having an animal based protein.
I do something similar, although the days are in a row. It works really well for me because I have some health issues, so the fish’s protein and omega three is great. Limiting dairy is also helpful for me! I don’t think I could live with a fully vegan diet (for many reasons), but limiting animal based protein in general is a good way to do it :)
I've been a vegetarian for almost 10 years and I completely relate to not wanting to inconvenience others! It's still a struggle but gets easier with time. My fiancé and I also get asked if we will raise our future children vegan/vegetarian since he stopped eating meat a few years ago but we're also planning to hopefully lead by example and let them decide when they're old enough (: Best of luck to you on this journey!!
I'd love a video on vegan recipes that revolve around tofu! I really want to incorporate more tofu into my diet but I'm unsure of any tasty stir fry recipes or tofu recipes in general. Def have to try out the dish mentioned in this vid!
I love your videos so much Ben, your receipes look really AMAZING ! 😍 I wish you and your beautiful family all the best, and I send you lots of love! Have a great day! 💖
Love this video!! As a full vegan and someone in my late 40’s it truly has changed my health it’s a game changer (any women going through menopause hot flashes gone 😉) & all the extra benefits to our world that it makes🙌🏼🙌🏼 keep up the great work 😃😃
Let’s just say that traditional meat sausages are also very processed. Good for you for eating more and more plants. For you, the planet and the animals. Very open-minded. Meditation is also a thing I love to do.
Wow, amazing that you're taking baby steps towards becoming fully vegan. For me, it was one of the best decisions of my life. Also, your cooking always looks fantastic and I'm looking forward to more vegan recipes!
*Last comment, I live by myself and I cook all the time and show off my meals on Instagram stories and you’re one of the top shelf chefs I watch on RU-vid. It amazes me how u can get in the mood to cook a lot during the day & huge portions*
Eat the skin of the pumpkin and potatoes!! It is delicious! And full of good stuff!!!🥰🙌 it makes it extra crispy when you first cook and then in the oven... thank you for this video 🥰
I've decided that you are probably one of the kindest and most understanding person ever! Your recipes also look delicious!! My husband and I are going to try your mushroom wellington for Thanksgiving!
Hey Ben! My diet is pretty much the same as yours, and I've also been thinking a lot about how to proceed with it... I love your outlook and philosophy - I entirely agree that our dietary identities don't have to be view through such a black-and-white lens. Doing what we can and taking small steps already has an impact. I was also really curious about how your meatless diet would factor into Lennon's lifestyle, and what you said sounds very reasonable - you seem like a great dad! Everything looks delicious and beautiful! Happy to see a peek of Jenn too :)
Hey Ben loving your content! Absolutely amazing and congrats baby Lennon is such a cutie :) Have you ever watched the documentary Earthlings? You can watch it on RU-vid or their website. I know you have been into energy and LOA recently, the documentary is heartbreaking but def a must watch all about how everything including the Animals and how we are all connected. Sending love and positive vibes!
Hey Ben, I am flexitarian (95% plantbased) and I recommend that you do pay attention to information about nutrition as well as ex-vegan stories as you transition fully, just so you know how to recognize symptoms of deficiencies if they creep up.
i recently started grilling my tomatoes with a bit of olive oil and salt for my breakfast sandwiches. it is sooo freakin good and adds so much umami on a budget. highly recommend!
Ben, thank you so much for this video and for sharing your view on vegetarianism/veganism in such a clear, nice and diplomatic way! This is exactly how I feel about my choice of giving up meat and I am at the same stage as you are (I eat fish from time to time, usually when there are no other alternatives and I don't want to be a bother, like you said). Keep up the good work!
I was going through the Green Chef website last week and was impressed by the array of really creative recipes that don't look like a headache to make, it was really nice to watch someone cook them, I love episodes like this. That code you have is so tempting haha :) this was awesome, thank you for sharing!
Omg this last meal especially looked FANTASTIC!!! I’m vegan & trying to think of cozy winter meals , that have a bit less processed vegan alternatives. And this last one is so simple, the only processed item is the butter ! It looks absolutely delicious and I’ll be trying it soon. Keep the vegan recipes coming! So excited for you in this health journey ❤️❤️
Ben, me an my boyfriend watch you a lot. The thing is, he is so much into watches and he kept looking at your wrist trying to see what you're wearing...but he couldn't see 😅 I thought maybe I can ask you here. Thank you! You're awesome!
ah! i was a flexitarian for a long time, too :) i was super surprised it was a thing, but i googled my food preferences a few years ago and found that term! lol. i just went vegan this june and it's been a fun foodventure since then! thanks for your vids, ben!
i would love to become a vegan as well and I like your strategy of less and less one step at a time, doing it in one go would be very tough! I have the advantage of eating sweet for breakfast, so no meat involved. I need to push the dairy side of the story as I am a sucker for milk! :) Great recipe!
Nice blog! Nice Menu! I make videos too and just recently started adding what my family eats in a day videos. I’m looking out for new ideas to keep my families meals interesting! Thank you for sharing this is informative and helpful! I’d love to support and learn from one another! 👍🏻👍🏻💙❤️💜💚🧡
Ben I’m vegan and so is my fiancé. Sharing this crucial value I feel is so incredibly important especially when it comes to us one day having a family so we can be on the same page with feeding and educating our child. How are you and Jenn managing this? I notice Lennon eats meat, including red meat. Does that sit well with you?
Ben I wasn’t a big fan of cooking lentils before. Today, after watching your video, I made your vegan shepherds pies recipe , it was delicious!!!. I used vegan Mayo instead of vegan butter for the mashed potatoes. For many years I made my shepherds pie with Trader Joe’s Beefless grounds, thanks for sharing the lentils idea! As a vegetarian for over 20+years, I have eaten tons of veg-meat alternatives, but my digestion always suffered, so I tried my best to eat less processed foods and more whole plant foods now. I still do love having a good Beyond burger every couple of months….I still haven’t made your bean burger recipe, will do next!
I don't know if you have this brand in the US, but here in Sweden we have something called Oumph (substitute meat) and it's sooo good, the best one is Oumph pulled! Also if you need ideas for vegan food there are these two amazing cooking RU-vidrs called Pick up Limes and Happy Pears, you should check them out if you haven't already! ✨
0:59 unfortunately this is just not true. I know many people that are extremely anti-vegan just because of their own biases, mostly men and conservatives. I've known people who were accidentally eating vegan meat alternatives or dairy alternatives that, when informed, will stop buying those products because they're 'not natural' or whatever even if they're healthier.
Love hearing your thoughts about vegetarianism and the environment. We can all take small steps to combat climate change! I also find cooking vegetarian is easier than dealing with slimy, nasty meat. It’s also less expensive!
