Tom have you tried the hearts of palm pastas? VERY low carb. I think they are much better than the Konjac pastas b/c they have a flavor of their own...very good!
Thank you for all of the helpful information! I’m a stage 3 cancer survivor as of March this year. I’m 26 hours into my first 48 hour fast. My body definitely needs a reset! Your videos have been so helpful!
Wow! Thats amazing. Wish you all the best in your remission and fasting journey. If you haven’t already, check out Dr. Mindy peltz videos on YT. She has fasting content specifically for those going through cancer and recovering from illness. Like Thomas, she does her research.
@@gvazdikasrudas5528 Not all girls are bad; pornography makes you think all girls are whores . ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_C6lNThb2cU.html I’d love to know your thoughts on this
Thomas: Would you consider making a video called "The Ketogenic Diet: Now vs Then" (or something to that effect)? In the video, you could cover how your opinion of the ketogenic diet has evolved these past 2-5 years (e.g. more recently). Based on your recent videos (and people's reactions to them), I think we've all noticed your opinion of the keto diet has been a bit more critical and nuanced of late. I think a more authoritative video about 'the ketogenetic diet today' would help us all get on the same page as we move forward.
Imagine what the people shopping near Thomas were thinking after hearing him nerd out about glucagon, ketones and fat oxidation. They probably thought they had to throw their whole cart away 🤣
Right? And with his physique, Thomas is a walking/talking testimonial to his cause. I'm not saying you should listen to any random brick shithouse that gives you health advice but when they're effortlessly spitting out that much data and science, it's hard to ignore.
The people around him think he's nut talking to himself. People shopping at Costco mostly don't know sht about fasting, gluconeogenesis, Keto. It's not wholefood market, it's costco. He simply sounds nut to them.
Gotta admit, I love Butcher Box, too! We've noticed the difference in flavor, and going this route, Im being much more careful about what we cook and eat - no more being wasteful!
I used to watch a ton of coach Greg videos and honestly didn’t like Thomas’ videos because I listened to the WRONG people about nutrition. I listened to a book by mark hyman and I’m 100% on board with a keto style diet now. Just like that I live this channel now.
We don't have a Costco here, so I went to one while on vacation in the N Dallas area, all excited. The Costco I went to doesn't have half the products he shows. The protien aisle had like 2 things to pick from. All that anticipation, and I left with a 2pk dog chew toy.
Organic foods are better for the environment regardless of it being on the clean 15. I will always encourage organic when possible, ie availability and or $$
The grass fed Kirkland's signature Frozen patties got deleted at my store here in Washington State. If they're missing at your store make sure to go to customer service and put a suggestion in that they get them back.
i crush 8-12 crepinis at a time w/ 1lb protein source such as salmon/extra lean ground turkey/chicken/eggs (1 egg per wrap), and 500g brussels sprouts, 140g combined kale/spinach w/ powerful seasonings, 150g plain 0% skyr. greatest wraps i ever see
Thomas, LOVE that you brought your own Tuna with you to Disney!!! We are going there in October, and I am in the process of reversing Type 2 Diabetes, and I watch Disney Food Channels on RU-vid = Diabetes City!!! I think I will get a Doc's note saying I need to bring a few Keto foods in with me. Love your videos, too!!! They are so helpful!!! I recently did my very first 3 day fast, doing exactly what you instructed, and it went great!!!
I really like your haul videos. Do you have one for Sam’s? I have started intermittent fasting; however, my doctor suggested a Mediterranean diet for me. Thank you
Great content … loved your haul .. tell us what you eat .. thanks for keeping it real.. not wanting us to buy products that sponsor you. Your non bias opinions matter. Thanks Thomas 🦋
16:17 - I can understand Thomas' frustration here.. it's reallly frustrating when so many foods out there are marketed as "keto," but once you look at the ingredients, it's NOT healthy.
Can't say enough about their frozen vegetables-riced cauliflower, broccoli florets, asparagus spears, brussels sprouts in olive oil-all good. The only disappointment is the zoodles, which have sucked every time I bought them-just a block if ice with shreds of zucchini in them. Haven't seen the Normandy vegetables or stir fry vegetables for a while, but they were decent. You never seem to mention it, but the wild caught salmon portions are a decent deal at $9.99/lb, and probably actually more fresh than the "fresh" salmon filets at the same price. The only issue is having to re-scale them because they don't do a very good job of it. The frozen 1/3 pound grass-fed beef patties are the best grass-fed deal in town, too. While you were in the deli section, could have picked up the raw sauerkraut or the kimchi-both fine items. I have a little with just about every meal. It's a crime to pimp that low-fat Swiss cheese. I simply stopped buying that nonsense. I buy the havarti in self-defense. They used to have a sliced grass-fed white cheddar, and I'm told they still do in some stores. When they had it, it was my goto. I still use the Kerrygold Dubliner grass-fed when I use block cheese. They had the sliced version of it once, but it breaks into pieces when you try to pull out a slice. Finally, I'm shocked you're pimping that other brand of sausages. The Teton River Ranch 100% grass-fed polish sausages are the cleanest sausages you'll find and NO SUGAR ADDED either. Together with sauerkraut, mustard, havarti and ground caraway, and you've got a nice polish sandwich, with out the bread. Throw in a dill pickle spear if you want. It's just a shame our Costco doesn't have pasture raised eggs like yours does.
Organic chicken: less glyphosate residue. It’s not that GMO soy is dangerous on its own, but that it’s often sprayed with glyphosate. I used to buy cheap Thanksgiving turkey and make it into frozen ground turkey. Now I just don’t eat much turkey. Not fond of it.
Our Costco has Kinder Zero Sugar BBQ sauce. I've never seen it on any Costco haul video, or product review. Sweetened with Allulose and Lou Hang extract. The only dirty ingredient is some corn starch. Really tasty. We mix it with some avacado oil mayo and some olive oil for a "Kraft Catalina" style salid dressing. Ours also has an organic plantain chip fried in organic coconut oil. Thomas has recommended a very small serving of plantains for gut biome. You have to be very careful with portion control as carbs are high.
So, this is random but, seeing the way the top of your head was cut out of frame makes me believe you are one of the guys that would look really good bald.
I've watched a number of your Costco vids over the past few weeks. Things I've noticed. The two Costcos I frequent do not stock a fraction of what yours has and your costco never seems to look like the over-populated night of the living dead.
Saturated fats do have health benefits 1. Saturated fatty acids make up at least 50% of the cell membranes. They are what create our cells necessary stiffness and integrity. 2. They play a vital role in the health of our bones. For calcium to be effectively incorporated into the skeletal structure, at least 50% of the dietary fats should be saturated. 3. They guard the liver from alcohol and other toxins, such as Tylenol. 4. They improve the immune system. 5. Saturated fats have antimicrobial properties, which protect us against harmful microorganisms in the digestive tract.
Great video and love the Bison meat at Costco! I would always get the Jarls Berg over at the Costco for the less fat in cheeses and the plain collagen peptides! Thanks for sharing what you eat at Costco.
Thanks for all the great information - listening to this video while making my Costco list! Following the Keto lifestyle has completely transformed me and my husband, and you have helped us tremendously. Thanks so much, Thomas!
Hey Thomas, question 4 you. I regularly take black seed oil, it has omega 3, 9, and 6. I know that u said omega 6 is not the greatest, yet I've seen it in alot of these healthy supplement oils. Why would they use omega 6 in such a healthy supplement like black seed?
Omega 6 is not necessarily bad for you. What your body strives for is to intake about equal amounts of omega 6 and omega 3. a 1:1 ratio. The problem is that so much food today, especially in American diets, includes wayyy more omega 6 if you add it together than omega 3. This is bad and can cause a lot of issues including your body not using omega 3 properly. It can be very hard to take in a balanced ratio so it is often recommended by Thomas and other health experts to eat as few omega 6 as you can to help prevent this.
For all things bacon???😂✌️ I would have totally thrown that alleged keto snack down too, Thomas, you're justified! Give Costco heck!!! I am so mad with you, I'm laughing! Laughing mad.
Yeah, that Trail Mix is NOT to be acceptable. It has CORN, which for me, could lead to huge hospital bills...if I live. I get my Jarlsburg Light Swiss from the deli because I can get chub ends for cubes and shreds, and very thin slices. My meat tends to be very lean, because we don't bait the wild herds. Duck and goose are much less fatty when wild, but if I have to buy meat, I buy bison or turkey, and I cook it, rinse it, then chill it to remove even more of the fat. Erythroil causes a desperate, sudden mad dash... So it's best use for me is as a remedy, but it does add volume and will lighten eggs for baking.
@UC0XLOFQmB2q0gyV6W7zlsHQ maybe, his studio in still in TO but believe he moved to Montecito so might go up to Goleta. Lot less people going up their i would think. I go to the one in oxnard but its always packed
I respect Costco for trying to cater to keto community but they got so many products that are only keto in name and are dirty. That's got to be scrutinized.
Thomas, I would love to see a video on the best prebiotic and probiotic foods to support a low carb lifestyle. Just love your videos! I appreciate how you support your information with research and explain why something is the way it is. Thanks for all you do!
He recently did a video on a gut reset challenge 😊 he explains when to use each. I think it's more sustainable to do it with food in my opinion because "Seed" is expensive.
Would you recommend chia over flax? I often alternate between chia and flax but like you mentioned, there’s a lot of mixed studies and reviews about flax that are counterintuitive.
Thank you, Thomas and the team, for the another awesome video; The DeLauer family Costo shopping haul! Please make it a series! Message to Costco: I loved it!!! Giving honesty credit to "Whole Earth" brand: I love it! Would you do the taste test on "Bombs" and "Kirkland Nutbutter??"
Great video as always Thomas! A regular follower of your videos since the beginning of 2020. My cart looks almost like yours every week (I also load up on the KS sparkling water). Costco has amazing sale on the Collagen and Orgain protein this month ($8 off). Just FYI for people watching the video this week like I did.
Have you checked out Wegmans? There are a lot of healthy food offerings like; Monkfruit sweetener, tasty seaweeds, a decent variety of olive oils, supplements, etc. I would appreciate your thoughts/evaluation/recommendations of what is available at Wegmans. Thanks for all the info you impart, I have and am learning alot from your videos!
Thomas, love your videos man! I've been doing keto 10 weeks on and will be carbing up for 3 weeks. Not sure if you recommend alternate day fasting getting back on Keto. But keep up the great content man!
Is olive oil better to get than avocado oil? Should it be olive oil or extra virgin olive oil? I may not have seen the video that covers these questions. I shop at Costco a lot so thanks for this...Plus my Costco has grass fed ground beef and you get 3 lbs for the same price as the 2 lbs of bison
Just started watching you and have to say you are incredibly knowledgeable and right on target. I too will try the bison. I am a huge safe catch tuna fan LOVE IT. I eat a can 3 times a week....is that too much mercury?
What is the purpose of taking collagen.? I’m a 31 yr old male that works in the sun a lot should i be taking collagen.? If so what does it take like or does it make you feel some type of way ?
