I seriously don't know why you don't have a bigger following. I've been binge watching your videos since I found you! I'm making a recipe from one of the books you reviewed, the Indian Split Pea soup. Thanks for this video! We're going to NY for Labor Day Weekend. Can't wait to try some of these places!
Thank you so much!! Honestly, some channels just take time to find their following, but ours has been exploding recently, so it's been nice to see people like yourself connecting with it - that's the main thing. I just focus on the quality of the info and content and know that eventually all that other stuff will sort itself out :) Comment again after your NY trip and let me know where you ate!!!
I just found your videos and have been binge watching. You, your family and your video's are absolutely amazing, awesome and so down to earth. It is so relaxing informative, entertaining and homely. So thank you.
I love that you guys aren't too strict with your diet while you are on vacation. I have watched a few people who do starch solution that would rather starve on vacation than have delicious food and a good time. 🙂
To each their own, but for us the trick is balance. We enjoy our treats, but we know that they're special and not an every day thing and we don't worry about it. We move as much as we can as well. :)
Fun video, thanks for taking us along! I wasn’t WFPB the last time I visited NYC. Nice to know there are so many delicious vegan options. Pastries are my weakness, they looked amazing. 😋
Loved this, the food looked terrific, would not like to take a shot at the calories count!! Really great as you seem to really all get along, ok not the (vegan) cheesy Waltons way but a really good, humorous and genuine bunch, more reels like this, please. Ps can you please take me with you next time x
Ha! Yeah - we walked about 20K steps a day, so that helped with the calories - also we shared a lot and the portions weren't too big. My scale didn't move when I got home, so that helped! Glad you enjoyed this! We'll hide you in our bag :)
great editing and such a fun video to help other vegans find some good food in the big apple. Love how you expose your kids to new environments and allow them to enjoy all the good eats of the city!
Thanks so much!! Not all the healthiest in NYC - but it was meant to be a family trip. The kids love being involved in it all - thanks for the comments!!!
I’m a New Yorker and hadn’t heard of Beatnic until I saw it in this video a few weeks ago. I just tried it out today and really enjoyed it, so thank you for featuring it.
So fun, thank for sharing. If you ever get back to Manhattan, I highly suggest Beyond Sushi, Blossom, the Butchers Daughter, and Big Gay Ice cream for their vegan option that day!!
Hey Jeremy, I live 1 hour north of NYC, so you were in my neck of the woods! We love Trader Joe’s, which is 25 minutes away from home in NJ. Their plain unsweetened plant based cashew yogurt tastes awful to me even doctored up. The flavored ones may taste better but they have multiple teaspoons of sugar in that little cup so I don’t buy it. I like Silk plain unsweetened soy based yogurt better than other alternatives. Anyway , I enjoyed seeing your family in NYC. Thanks!
I really loved watching your trip. I'm originally from NYC and it was nice to see how it has changed and yet is still so familiar. I'm also glad to see the vegan options, it gives me another reason to go back and visit. Was the Ab&b in williamsburg?
Oh my gosh, so nice you were able to catch a couple of shows with the family - what a great trip!! My sister lives in Brooklyn and when we visit we never eat out (always cook in). If you could pick the healthiest restaurant that you visited in Brooklyn, which one would it be? (I just can't eat the oil, sugar and salt anymore, it makes me feel sluggish and hurts my stomach.) The only place we have ever eaten out in NYC is the Whole Foods food/salad bar and a vegan sushi place. I would love your opinion on your best choice for clean eating at a vegan restaurant -- maybe Modern Love?! Thanks so much!!
I’m in New York for 6 days in September. I definitely want to check out petit monstre and the other cafe. Need to balance any sweet tooth with some savory food. Will definitely stop at Tompkins square bagels to start.
NY is awesome! Me and my husband went there for the 2nd time recently, all the way from Norway. Brooklyn was actually our favorite place. But, you lived in Brooklyn but didnt visit SCREAMERS PIZZERIA? They are NY's only all vegan pizza restaurant and they have 2 restaurants, both in Brooklyn. :D I was also surprised that Jajaja was in a Whole Foods, we couldn't find it first. But the food was amazing. Another gem was Willow, a fancy vegan restaurant that had vegan steak that blew our minds! And Anixi, a middle eastern vegan restaurant that had the most amazing "lamb" pockets and "chicken" kebabs. Omg. I so want to go there again! Wish we didn't lived so far away.
Screamers was on my list, but we were only there for 4 days and the scheduling didn't work out. Did you have it??? Yeah - the Jajaja's surprised me but they have multiple locations - we just ended up in the weird one. Willow sounds great! I'm lucky to live in a very vegan friendly city as well (Toronto).
@@pbwithjeremy Yes we had it, and it was awesome! I had 31 vegan restaurants on my list, haha! We have ONE here in my home town. Of course we couldn't eat at all 31 places, but I am pretty happy with the ones we did visit. NY is so great! We went to Washington DC for a week after, and that was even better, what a pretty and exciting city!
@@pbwithjeremy They really have! We went to DC Vegan, a vegan lunch restaurant & bar, where the food was out of this world! We only had the time to visit one restaurant there, but we had about 5-6 different options on our list. They also have a fully vegan donut shop (Donut Worry) which looks awesome. :)
Appreciate the feedback. One the things people seem to really admire about our family is that we're ourselves, and for better or worse we sometimes swear. That said, we're doing our best to keep it out of future videos - hope that helps.
Shockingly I haven't - I'm never a tourist in my own city - but maybe I should do something like that, huh? "My Vegan Toronto" - I did do a video for the CNE last year and Vegondale...
...hope this is OK, & I've tried really hard not to share this - I just luvvvv all of your beautiful fam; but hope you don't mind a loving suggest for your son's red cheek blotches...I bet of he got off of all dairy & animal prods for just a few days, that he would be amazed how quickly it would heal...❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing!! I'll bring this up to him and see how he reacts. My wife and I were just discussing this the other day so I appreciate the second opinion! Thank you for caring enough to tell us with the loving suggestion! (now the question is if he'll care....)
I shared your theory with my son tonight and he said thank you for telling him. He's going to try going off dairy and animal for 2 weeks and see what happens - and he said we can make a video about it. So thank you!!!
I’d like a follow up on your weight returning home and whether it was difficult to get back on track. If I let myself do this, it would be off to the races! I realize this was awhile ago.
Thanks for asking. When at home we generally eat WFPB, so after a trip like this we just go right back to our usual way of eating - so it balances it out. We're pretty disciplined that way - and we didn't even go that off the rails on this trip, given that most people just eat this way in their day to day life.
@pbwithjeremy I'm a native NYer and am probably listening too hard! No matter! Your family is wonderful and I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit. Come again! There are so many great places to try. Planta Queen is a must!
Ha - I'm sure one of us said it wrong. Planta Queen was on my list - just didn't have time. The kids want to go back for sure - so we'll likely make another trip at some point.
