In this video, I will share some of the challenges I ran into while using Microsoft Todo, and what tweaks I made in my approach to make better use of the tool.
Thank you Andy. Appreciate your view and concur that the tools we choose should serve us and not the other way around. I guess the same can be said for processes. PS - I shall not abuse my power, lol.
Andy, thanks for this video. I think I am the other way on this. I want the little tasks in my Todo, so I can remember to do them. Specifically admin tasks at work or around the house. I think Planner would be great for larger projects that need to be broken down into specific steps (i.e. Tasks). Just my thoughts. Oh and also, I always keep the app open and running in the background on my phone ready to check things off.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, at the end of the day, it's a matter of personal process and preference. I used to set a time in the week to brain dump everything (mostly small admin tasks) that were nagging me on a piece of paper and then add them to a todo list (GTD style). But then I ended up spending disproportionately large time adding and checking off these item rather than working on the big things. And I could never sustain this for too long. But you're absolutely right. I think you are correctly using planner and todo in the way that Microsoft intended. I'm still learning and refining my process. And I'll continue to share updates along the way. Keep the feedback and comments coming so that we can all share notes and improve together. 😀 Thanks!
