What I'm Reading 

The T.R. biography is chunky! It's one I'd like to get to. I have not read anything by H.W. Brands. How are you finding his writing style? You did say you thought this biography was very thorough, but how is the readability (ease of reading vs too academic if that makes sense)?

I definitely want to read a complete history of Britain before I leave the country in April, since I don’t think I will ever be coming back

Wow, The Story if Britain sounds like it covers a lot of ground! Sounds very informative. That Teddy Roosevelt biography does look like a brick! I think his life was fascinating, too. Have you read Rover of Doubt? Enjoy your books this week!

Are you finding this TR biography better than the 3 volume one by Edmund Morris?

Is there a particular brand of plastic book jacket that you like? I’ve gotten a handful of older books which really need them

Micah, have you read Mornings on Horseback, by David McCullough? It's a biography of Theodore Roosevelt as a child and youth--excellent book.

I read Kathleen Dalton's Roosevelt biography and thought it was excellent. I eventually want to read the Edmund Morris and the HW Brands biographies.

Looking forward to your final review of H.W. Brands "TR". I enjoy Brands writing and TR is the only bio on him I haven't read.

You've got some good books there. I recently finished Abigail Adams by Woody Holton. It was really good. Now I've got to get through a book on Palestine that's hard to follow, and a long one on the Puritans. I'm not sure I'll get through them this month.

I always wonder about those big ove views of history and how good they are, good to hear this one at least succeeds Micah.
