@Ethan Bouche you can literally see him thinking about what hes making up next while hes talking but he says it in a way that even he believes it. what was it? oh yea a dog.
This guy and crowd just absolutely suck and I died laughing especially at your comment for some reason. I don't understand the douchebags who think it depends on where it happened.. laughter isn't a decision. America isn't a bunch of idiots screaming all the time.. that's Australia and Florida.
@@CJM-rg5rt Forreal that guy was just annoying he kept trying to bring it back but in the worst ways it was annoying but Theo handled it well the crowd was eh tho definitely some people enjoyed themselves.
Theo is the type that almost every word he says is funny. Like you cant miss a word, so I think some of the crowd is trying to listen to what hes saying. I've caught myself doing that even though I have rewind on my phone.
Theo's material is actually so unique. Hes probably the most original comedian in my opinion. The joke on most people really is how he convinces alot of folks hes a simple, country guy when in fact hes a genius who comes in swinging!!!
Funny you should say this. I’m a sales guy with a southern drawl… I present myself as a simple southern guy and it really helps ppl to relate to, open up to, and trust me more easily. I throw in a little humor too in all my business discussions and customers absolute love it.
@@briancannon3987 maybe southerners are taught to listen and learn more whereas northerners in the cities want to act like they already know everything.
@@MeglynLad true that. you know how stifing it is to think you know about something youve never experienced. so u base your dicisions on things you really have no idea about
Theo is seriously one of the funniest comedians i've ever watched. Obviously puts in a lot of work to be a successful comedian, but the guy makes it look so natural, like he's just telling stories (which he's doing, essentially). Thanks, man.
He is just naturally funny and he got to use it cuz he lived in the south before internet and had to entertain himself and of course get pussy. Now naturally funny people don't get to use it because kids get all the entertainment they need from a phone and are less social. I am speaking as a 21 yo too.
As a southerner I can tell you that he's not lying., Growing up in the south is a whole lot different than anywhere else, It's like a different world. I miss the crazy, peaceful, friendly chaos that is the south.
Yep! I'm East TN born and bred. I could never live anywhere else - unless it was somewhere else in the South. But even then my heart would still be in Appalachia.
you can't corroborate his stories just because you also grew up in the south xD I also live in the south, and this shit sounds made up as fuck, but it's funny as hell, so who cares really
“Crazy, peaceful, friendly, chaos” is the near perfect description for the South. I live and grew up in Florida… stuff considered bizarre and only seen in social media videos by most people (except Russians) is just a typical Tuesday down here lol. But yes, the majority of his stories are just him bsing. Seems like they start from true events but then he just starts shooting from the hip keeping it going long as he can. Him and Bobby Lee are absolutely hilarious together… they play off each other so good… they may be the funniest comedic pair I’ve ever seen.
He’s obviously bullshitting. His stories come from real shit (like fucking around with stray animals and roadkill) but the rest is bull shut. He knows it. And he knows we all know it. It’s just his style of comedy. We know he didn’t have a friend named Danny with a wrist in his neck. But it’s a very southern style of storytelling.
Theo Von has this beautiful southern word play. It's born'd from having a connection to the past - an old creole Louisiana strut that came from his father. Like you don't just play in the grass, it's "playing ball out in the broom sage field." It's really lovely. Should definitely write a book.
Man it's nice when you get a unique comedian like Von come around every so often. Every time I hear him it's fucking hilarious. His podcast, This Past Weekend, one of the best!
This is seriously funny and not just because of theos stories. The interviewer was suggesting that southerners speaking their mind was something bad, presumably intolerance or racism, theo just nods and goes off with stories that i think are the exact thing theo was actually talking about. Its the unexpectedness, the turns of phrase that dont come out of normal tv watching american vocabulary. This is what i love about Theo. You cant predict what hes gonna say, he can say something normal but say it in a way thats foreign. He can say something weird and that's just theo. Your brain works harder because you don't know the next word then there is some weird release when you put together just how bizarre it is and how comfortable he is saying it.
The host is horrible, keeps butting in because he thinks he can hang with Theo. Just making himself look like a fool. Love the way Theo keeps cutting him off. Don't be fooled, true Southerners speak slow, but think fast.
So you're just as funny and quick as Theo cause you're both from the south? This is the problem with regional pride. Even Theo would roll his eyes at you and reluctantly agree cause he knows how "southerners" really are.
Theo is awesome. Love his style. Never get tired of his stuff and you hear some of the same stories across his various appearances on youtube but each one has at least one or two new crazy ass stories. He has seen some ridiculous stuff bruh.
I have seen clips of this gentleman doing comedy for about 2 years. His cadence and delivery have come a long way. His story telling is very funny. Finally, this crowd is not mic’d properly, or they handed out Valium on the way in to be seated.
Haha I loooove your stories. Back when kids were allowed to be naughty, curious, and adventurous. These days, kids are gonna tell stories about this awesome app they used to play in their room. Saaaaaad. Keep those adventure stories coming!
Lol this is why we spend tell summer in a campground. We have no TV and the wifi barely works...except early in the morning when the kids are sleeping in...
Rose Stewart sounds like those kids are privileged. I never went to camp lol I had a small tent on a patch of grass and that was kicks ass. Wouldn't change a thing bout my childhood
This dude is so damn intriguing! He’s engaging, funny, captivating, and random as hell! His perspective is like nothing I’ve ever heard! He doesn’t seem rehearsed at all! Genuinely authentic! I’m from Louisiana also and sometimes I can relate to what he’s talking about, but just when I think we’re on the same ball field, I suddenly realize he’s playing chess.
this room host included is an extremely tough room but theo is too strong even for the toughest room. this host is so awkward, he does good when he keeps his mouth shut but when he tries to chime in he fuks up theos flow.
I love how the crowd gradually warms up to his style and toward the end you can hear the random laughs where people are just tickled. Reminds me of how people reacted to Hedberg.
Only been there once. Drove out from the capital of CA. Stops were SF, LV, lake Powell, TX, NOLA, and drive through to ClearWater. Spent about a week and a half and caught a Dog back to SacTown. A sleepless week on the return trip. One of my favorite travels.
Theo just doesn't put himself down or "pretend" you can't have enjoy life/have fun growing up poor. Being poor is in many ways similar to being rich (it is, don't think that just getting money is gonna change everything for you cause it will but it also REALLY won't), neither necessarily mean satisfaction. But it's weird on both sides of the fence just in different ways, and it's good that the excitingness/wildness of the working/underclass is given a voice by Theo. The only difference between poor and rich is that the poor often have their dysfunctions on display while the "rich" generally hide it... doesn't mean it's not there... it's just constantly hidden.
I'm from near where Theo was born and raised, he is so right about the south, you can say what you want, and people don't get all offended. Love him, love home. ❤
Theres something about Theo man hes just so naturally funny with the way he says anything, and then he comes up with his own little goofy terms for things that always catch you off guard hes truly original and one of my favorite current comics
I know people exaggerate a lot, or say this sort of thing frequently, but that was genuinely one of the greatest things I've ever seen in my life. I was trying to eat dominos and doctor pepper and kept spitting it out cuz I was laughing every 5 seconds. god his delivery is perfect. and it was so weird. and clever. and unique. fantastic. I been checking out his stuff and enjoying it...but THIS is what made me a fan. just now. Theo Von is top notch.
