In fact, I think normal represents sound in some way (that would be the case of Exploud or Chatot, for example)... So I believe that Kricketot's line should already be a bug normal type

@@DavidGarcia-of1cn while I understand that, the way things have gone it appears Normal isn't actually meant to be a representative of Sound, but instead just a placeholder type, something more like "we know this Pokemon has a type/another type but we can't determine what that type is, so until we figure it out it'll just be Normal or type 1/Normal" we see this as the case with Fairy types, as some pure Normal Pokemon (like Snubbull) were retyped to be pure Fairy, and ones that had a Normal type along with a second type (like Togekiss) also had the Normal replaced with Fairy. Basically, we came to more or less the same conclusion, we just did it in different ways.

@@modelomegatyler as is being made of mostly water and needing it to survive, or having electrical impulses running through your body via the spinal cord and such, or having some kind of rock like structure (the skeleton) inside your body, etc. yet Water, Electric, and Rock types aren't classified as just Normal but instead classified as their perspective type, otherwise the majority of Pokemon would probably wind up being Normal.

@@jgr7487 not necessarily a good one. Psychic needs a buff or two. and again, fairy for Manaphy makes a lot more since because it is a fairy (and it will make it a lot better :))

I think Manaphy should be Psychic with Phione being Fairy since they need to be different enough to justify Phione's existence and I think giving Fairy to the cuter one makes more sense.

Fairy and Psychic in general have a lot of overlap not just in Pokemon, but also just in what they represent.

Both of Manaphy's signature moves are Psychic type, so I think Psychic makes more sense for it than Fairy.

I get that, but that's literally the only thing ground related that it does. I think it could be psychic, because of the mystical nature of it, but that's not great. My personal pick would be Dragon. It's a bit strange, but I think it fits the ancient titan idea pretty well.

​@@samlewis6487That is still a huge part of it. There are far too many of both psychic and dragon legends, and I think geound/fighting is perfect for it. It also clearly has nature inspiriation in its design so ground (being nearly as associated with nature as grass is sometimes) fits even better

I think fighting would have worked better given its contrast to bastiodon. Being steel, it resembles a door or gate, and rampardos represents the battering ram. So it fights throw the gate by bashing its head, and rampardos and rampage...mad? Rage? Gives it a reason to fight? Bit of a stretch but I also want to leave the dragon type with tyrantrum

In the Japanese language, “dinosaur” actually contains the word for “dragon”. That’s why a lot of characters that use dinosaurs in any way usually have a dragon somewhere. Rex Raptor from Yu-Gi-Oh has Red-Eyes Black Dragon, despite being entirely dinsosaur-themed. All devil fruits in One Piece that turn you into a dinosaur get the word for “dragon” instead.

I mean, the only thing that makes it a Dracorex over a Pacycephalosaurus is the spikes, but Drakorexes don't have the domes, which is more key to Rampardos than the spikes are. So personally I'd say it's not that much of a Dracorex, but I still think the dragon typing fits pretty well

And it might even let it be found more often like its skunk counterpart...

Though if I remember well, its pokedex entry is kinda dark, right? Using light to attract its prey deep down in the water... I actually would go for insect typing. Not the most obvious but pretty suitable for his look and informations we know about him.

Honestly there's a lot of pure Electric post-Gen 4 too! I don't know what their obsession is; I mean sure it's only got one weakness but the type needs more variety...

The only thing luxray has is an intimidating look, other than that, there's no reason it should be dark type (at least for me)

The shinx line has light motif in their names, so it doesn’t make sense for the line to gain the dark typing

@@rjfrost7090 I'd say the idea of a Grass Type squirrel in general is good idea, but this video series about adding Types to a Pokemon in a way that fits how the Pokemon aleady is. Pachirisu itself as-is does not seem appropriate for a Grass Type (I think).

Yeah, the idea with Burmy is that it gathers materials with which to cover itself, but those materials don't actually become part of its body until/if it evolves into Wormadam.

Actually Porygon-Z is just an option (a rare one at that) I guess togakiss is an option because Lucario will be getting his jaw spin by other fighting types and I'm trying to avoid ice types like the plague because of crescent I can also choose mismagius or roseraid I don't know give me some of your ideas because I'm kind of stuck

@@Roastatrice I'm also struggling to come up with a team, well at least a full team anyway I think I have at least half of it pretty covered. Torterra for sure (Probably just rename him Genbu like I did my last one) Weavile since I never used one and like dark types. Staraptor (similar to Torterra, I could just rename it Yatagarasu, though maybe Hresvelgr could work since it's a fierce looking bird) Floatzel (If it's female, just do the same as I did with Torterra) Gardevoir would probably be nice since I used Gallade in Omega Ruby. The last one I'm stuck on though maybe a ghost type like Mismagius or Dusknoir could work. I'd rather it be a fire type but Magmortar requires trading, Rapidash comes way too late and Houndoom would overlap with Weavile so to my knowledge all I have left is Flareon.

Honestly, I don't know why gamefreak is so afraid of changing their legendaries typings. I mean cresselia should have been fairy from gen 6 and up. It supposed to counter darkrai while in reality darkrai hits her super effectively lol. Should been changed into fairy along with celebi and the lake trio.

Yes! This is what i was looking for! Darkrai would be able to deal super effective damage (Ghost VS Psychic) while Creslia would also be able to do the same (Fairy VS Dark). The only slight advantage Darkrai would have over Creslia in this would be that Dark types are immune to Psychic, while Psychic/Fairy is not immune to dark type attacks (although the fariy type does resist so, normal damage). Still, it's a great matchup!

I can't wait to see what Pokemon get Ground and Dragon! But seriously, I do enjoy this series.

Just because you want them to be different from each other doesn't mean you can freely give them whatever type you want. What you suggested is nonsense and doesn't even remotely fit their origin and appearance at all. I mean, Uxie = Steel how? XD face it, they're all fairy.

@@adamswirls Actually Incineroar & Greninja do have prominent sinister elements in their origins: Greninja is based on a ninja, which where assassins. Murdering people for money is pretty sinister. Incineroar is based on a "heel wrestler", which is a villainous or antagonistic character in professional wrestling. And as for Absol, you're right that he is not sinister, but he also proves my point that being Dark type is not about being black.
