This is a different type of video than I normally do, but I had a lot of fun making it. It's sort of from Coin's point of view for most of the video, and it was really fun to write a sort of narrative/fan fiction. I hope you guys enjoy it!
If some of y’all don’t know, she only said yes to the capital hunger games so then coin would trust her enough to think katniss wasn’t going to kill her. She had been planning to kill coin since she met with snow in his garden, because she realized that coin had Killed prim. Coin knew prim was there and still fired the bombs. She thought that if katniss saw the capital bomb children/kill prim, it would make her want to kill snow even more, and would want the new hunger games. I believe that people would want katniss to be president, but she is unstable. She expressed this by saying gale brought fire to her insanity, but Peeta was her love. He brought light to her darkness , he was soft, and gentle, like that daisy on that she found after he threw her that bread, he gave her hope. I do believe if Peeta had not come to 12 after Haymitch dragged her back, she would have gone completely insane. I feel sympathy for the girl on fire. She always tried so hard to be strong when really, she was always afraid, too scarred to say anything, because it could have caused more pain and death.
THIS I only realized Katniss’s deception in her decision this year after rewatching the movies. The way she says “for Prim” is such a sly way of acknowledging that she knows Coin is responsible for Prim’s death.
lemondrizzlecake I wouldn't call it sad, rather bittersweet, as they did get to live in peace for the rest of their lives (atleast as far as we know) but the trauma from the games and the war is still there.
that its Peeta, Katniss loves?...I actually feel bad for him, Katniss does give him a hard time and that seem everything is his fault around Katniss, and doesnt appreciate what he does for her...Peeta's was effortlessly appreciated....
Did he tho? Gale turned into someone hell bent on revenge and hurting people, thats not someone katniss could like. Gale was also very jealous of everyone, even her relationship with finnick. Rip finnick
The “what if’s” are endless! What if Katniss (never doing the quarter quell, just the first games) had aged out a couple years later and Prim was chosen for tribute again?... I really like the fan fiction video, you put a good spin on it!
@@gracie9658 Prim could still have been reaped. The original 3rd Quarterquell had different rules than the one we saw. Plutarch changed them in a deleted scene so the plan for the rebellion could work
@@teddyn240 I mean, yeah. The french got rid of absolute monarchy then Napoleon came around with a different title yet pretty much the same shitty thing. Lenin fought for a communist revolution which turned into famine and poverty in Russia for a while which they haven't fully recovered from. I don't know much about the mexican revolution but from the biggest revolutions in history, the 2nd leader is usually also bad, if not just as bad, as the overthrown one.
seems it, but Coin wasnt as stiff as Snow as defintion of dictator goes...she was more negotiable, approachable and seem less threatening (than Snow)....so yes agreed one dictator to another...but equally, no...
angel91485 ehh I greatly disagree. imo, coin was just as bad as snow, maybe even more. coin was very skilled and clever in planning our moves and countermoves in order to get what she sought, and she could kill without a blink of an eye if a person was a threat or stood in the way of her seeking power. she was reckless in that sense, she killed capitol children and others at the mansion for no good reason, the resistance was already about to break down the gates anyways. she saw life as dispensable, whereas snow seemed to explain why he took life, and he actually did only take life for specific reasons, but I’m not justifying his actions in any way. he killed kids in the games to set an example, but coin kills for her own benefit in order to ensure her rise to power. coin seemed to be much more deadly than snow
Nothing..? Katniss will live in misery, she wasn't too close to him at that point but he still had impact in her. Overall she'll be like hamitch suffering from nightmares and trying to figure her way out. Now, if he died before the berries thing then it won't happen; shell win without doing the rebillion spark. If they somehow killed him that very moment by an attack of a monster or something, catching fire may or may not exist depending on snow's move after that and also the districts
Regardless of how you feel about snow, he never lied and was always upfront just like this video showed. In the books I could tell something was off with coin, but didn’t think that she was that manipulative. Watching her die was very pleasing and I’m happy katniss got a happy ending after all she went through and done
Maybe. But he was a complete idiot. Ruling by fear is just flat out stupid but he didn’t even do that right. If he actually wanted to rule by fear, Katniss and Peeta should have been dead within a month of the Hunger Games.
@@masterblaster7484 true but I think that snow saw there would be a challenge with Katniss and he wanted to show the others what could also happen aside from just killing them both with a bullet in the back of the head or poisonous berries. Obviously he failed either way but I think he wanted to show what more he was capable of

I think it's really interesting in this theory how Coin basically doomed herself. Yes, Katniss wouldn't have been sought out for as a leader... If the districts had been allowed to move on, in a healthy way. However, since Coin turned them blood thirsty, their opinion of Katniss then changed, she became the ideal choice for a leader, as she had displayed this ruthlessness. If Coin hadn't done the new hunger games, the districts would have seen that Katniss was unfit for President, and they wouldn't have fought for it. Thus, Coins own manipulations and want for bloodshed, would lead to her own downfall. :P Edit: spelling errors lol
@@animejerk05 I agree. It’s because of Katniss the revolution started. She was never a killer. And this person seems to forget what got Katniss to be loved by everyone was her sacrifice for her sister and helping rue. All acts of kindness and the “ruthless” stuff she did was due to the blood thirsty hunger games. So no way would panem ever see her as a person
They wouldn't have survived as what saved Katniss in the first hunger games was Peeta's charisma and ability to make ppl love him and thus her and their relationship. Gale didn't have that boyish charm and way with people as Peeta was a lot softer. Neither of them could've even conjured up the idea of them being a couple let alone kept it being as realistic as Peeta made him. Gale and Katniss were too alike, which made them very unlikeable to the Capitol whereas Peeta is someone that's easy to like.
Snow' s granddaughter wouldn't be wearing a braid. The oldman from district 11 would've never been killed. The third quarter quell would've been different. He probably would've suffer from some PTSD due to clove' s death since she died in his arms.
You forgot the part where Boggs even says that Coin fears Katniss because Coin doesn’t like people who she can’t control. This also suggests that Coin wanted to execute Katniss after the rebellion or have an “accidental death”.
This fan fiction is so creative and I really enjoyed listening to the whole thing. It would be great if you did more of these in the future. Keep up the great work💕.
If you only watch the movie then you might ship Katniss and Gale. But if you read the books and watch the movies, you will know why Peeta is the one for Katniss, not Gale. Peeta might seem useless but he sacrifices a lot of thing for Katniss and he always be there for her.
I believe Gale took care of a bunch of people back in 12 while Katniss was gone. I think if he had loved her more, he would have volunteered in place of Peeta.
Aslamnur Fikri I think if Aang killed Ozai I think a Coup would take place. Nothing can convince me that the whole nation would not be angry about their livelihoods being taken away by their new teenage Fire Lord with no past experience in politics. The new Fire Nation would suffer so much transitioning from a military economy to a market one. Especially rich upper class who would have supported Ozai, poorer people who would now have to learn a whole new set of skills and may struggle adapting, people living in the colonies that would now be displaced. Poverty would increase drastically with soldiers and those involved with military activities (even producing weapons) would now be unemployed. I don’t think the Fire Nation could afford to give handouts to those in need (I’m sure they had to pay reparations to the other nations and also) because it would be like ALL OF THEIR COUNTRY. Everyone was indoctrinated in believing Ozai was doing the right thing, so I think it would be difficult to accept they were wrong when this is something several generations believed (100 years- that’s parents telling their kids, telling their own kids). But overall, I don’t think Zuko’s rule would work out very well. I’m sure the people of the Fire Nation wanted peace and safety, but it would come at such a great cost of their own country’s prosperity that I think it would damage their pride and uproot their lives. I am so upset that there was never a fourth season that went into depth with Zuko’s struggles rebuilding the Fire Nation, like Ehasz wanted. It’s not something that Aang could solve with Avatar logic. It would be so interesting to see the political aspect of the country after the war.
I love how accurately scary the depression Katniss went through annd how she coped in the end, thanks to Bluebell for making her finally cry it out, and Peeta for always being there. "You love me, real or not real?"
Then the series wouldve ended. And Snow would still be president. A district 1 2 would never have started a rebellion they were never hungry and had special treatment.

I really like what ifs and fanfiction, being a fanfiction writer myself I can relate. You should definitely do some more videos of these, especially what ifs like say what if Gale went into the Hunger Games instead of Peta or What if Cato won the Games. Its definitely fun to speculate.
agreed, but not equally...as Coin was more democratic than Snow...Snow was pure evil and an unapologetic blatant cruel tyrant...Coin I think can be more reasoned with, which is probably a good thing as definition of a tryant goes...
@@angel91485 coin was worse then snow because she was as manipulative as can be. snow was straightforward we all knew he was evil straight from the get go and he himself knew that too. meanwhile coin like her namesake had two faces the reality and the facade she portrayed an understanding leader that wanted nothing more than the freedom of the districts (thus making her seem like someone who you can negotiate with) while in reality she will do and kill whatever and whoever it takes so that she becomes the leader of the “new panem”
I loved your poetic ending regarding Coin getting locked up in her own prison, as well as the cycle caused by Coin's lust for power. Incredible alternate ending, hope you enjoyed creating it as I did watching. :)
No lie, I really loved this. My expectations were somewhat mediocre, because I loved the original/Collins’ ending. It was really interesting, though I would have liked Katniss and Peter to survive, for the sake of having children. That way, they’d become even more famous and loved by Panem. Eventually, Coin would kill them off, but their children survive and manage to throw whoever was President after Coin (because obviously they can’t do anything when they’re young) I love your outcome too and it would’ve been amazing to read that. 💙
Here's my fan thoughts...Katniss announces she has 2 arrows for Snow, she shoots him in the heart and just as she's about to fire her second at him it goes straight to Coin.
@@johndyoderministries I think it would've made more sense for her to just shoot Coin and then kill Snow as well. I don't know why she just stood there staring at him laughing at her.
I like how this theory actually had quite a happy ending for the people in the districts and Panem (despite Katniss and Peeta being killed) where in the end they will still be able to move on without the shadow of another hunger games looming over their heads
Katniss killing Coin in the end created a very satisfying twist ending for the novels, and of course allowed for more balance in Panem by empowering other districts rather than just having a military district come in and take over. When I read the books, I was surprised that Coin didn't have Snow killed immediately after capture or why she would even allow Katniss to do it, but it makes more sense now when I think about Coin's political strategy.

I really love this video. The theory itself, along with the new story/fan fiction style that you did. You should do this type of style more often, I really enjoyed it. I also think that your version of this “alternate ending” of mockingjay is really plausible. I’ve always thought about what it would be like if Katniss had killed snow instead of coin, but I had never really considered the angle of Katniss gaining more support from the people as a leader. If that had happened in actual canon, I feel like what you describe in this video about how coin would’ve killed her really would’ve happened. The only small part of this video that I personally disagree with is when you say that Gale loved power more than he loved Katniss. I don’t think that’s true at all. In the time of war, Gale showed his more violent side, showed he could be a very destructive person. But I don’t think he wanted power for himself, or at least he didn’t want it enough to keep it from him protecting Katniss. I DO think he wouldn’t have wanted her to be a leader, but not because he wanted power. He wouldn’t have wanted her to be a leader because, as someone who knew practically everything about her, he knew that SHE wouldn’t have wanted a leadership position.

I feel bad for gale in the canon storyline. He had all this rage and anger built up, especially after the capital took away the thing loved the most and that anger was the thing that drove katniss further away.
I wish that The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes were about different endings (i.e. this, if Katniss hadn't volunteered, if the arena weren't destroyed, etc.) But I am excited for a prequel.
This story you made up for the ending is honestly better to me. More tragic the people we follow die as there are no winners they’re only survivors. This would make a lot go full circle and help make a rather “ehh” ending much better and thrilling.

This would have been an incredible fourth book. Gale as the main character after Katniss and Peeta died. In this one we could have probably gotten to know more about Gale’s life and his “why’s” to everything he did. I think this would have been a more complete and realistic ending to everyone involved, but honestly... we ALL wanted a happy ending to both Katniss and Peeta, and that’s what Suzanne gave us. But really, good job friend, I really enjoyed the video. 👌🏾
I love all your Hunger Games Video. I remember reading the books in middle school and falling in love with the story and was so hyped when the movie was announced. I went to the theater on opening day for each one. Those where good times. I just decided to watch the whole series again recently and I fell in love with the story again. These videos are so fun to watch. Thank you and keep up the good work!
You have no idea how much my facial expression went from calm to jaw dropped as Snow told Katniss his final words and explained to her that Coin killed those people, I thought it was Snow at first... Then I began to realize Snow was right and Coin was the real enemy. Snow could have changed. Coin couldn't.

That was enjoyable to watch! I think you should make one about what would've happened if the rebels lost the rebellion. In Mockingjay Katniss asks, "What happens if the Districts lose?" and Plutarch responds with, "Then except a very violent games next year."

Also, Voldemort had no desire or need to have sex, since he was asexual and strived for immortality. He didn't want _ANY_ relations with anybody. Which should be obvious to anybody with half a brain...
I like this a lot, always felt a bet weird Katniss and Peeta ended up happy. It felt like this would end in a tragedy. But I love how big picture wise yours still ends in the same way
