Just wanted to to drop by and say WOW. Not only did you tackle this iconic track - which must've been scary in its own right - but you did an outstanding job on it as well. To be honest I wasn't even sure if it was possible to match OWA to the style of Doom Eternal, and I'm still not sure *how* you did - but you succeeded. Kudos to you for achieving this; I'm sure I am not the only person who thinks this must've been a task bordering on the impossible. (And your ingenuity when it comes to finding solutions during the production process never ceases to amaze me!)
And when I say “the last bit of Latin,” I mean the “Veni-veni-venias” part. Even the clear Latin near the end of that part wouldn’t sound out of place in Doom Eternal.
The real talent here isn't the end result; no, it isn't the music. It's the fact that Geoff knows how to use this software without getting an aneurysm from confusion.
Not enough air horns during the John Cena segment... 2/10. Seriously though, this is freaking great. This is such a good balance of the two! Neither genre feels like it's overshadowing the other. Never thought I'd be jamming to OWA on a regular basis in my ost game mix but here we are. All the vocals came out stellar too!
In the first age, in the first battle, when SOLDIER stood fast, one stood. Embedded with the cells of Jenova, his soul blistered with the thoughts of the beast and tainted beyond repentance, he chose the path of humanitarian nightmares. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace and with boiling hatred, he scoured the realm of Midgar, seeking reunion to the beast that created him. He expunged the wing of the black angel, and those that taste the bite of his sword named him... The One Winged Angel.
Considering Doom Slayer glory killed a hell Titan with his bare hands, would be an amazing fight. BFG/Unmakyr/Blood Punch(he killed Kahn Maykr with his fists) and Hammer should give him DPS to match Sephiroth. I say Hammer because I think it’s stronger than the Crucible Blade. He would have to kill Sephiroth before Supernova could activate....If a Super Gore Nest detonation can kill the Slayer, I don’t see why Supernova wouldn’t. I could be wrong tho, Slayer did kill the creator of his universe (worth noting his creator did get his power of creation stolen, sparking the plot of the series). His durability and DPS are hard to pin down. Speed should be easier to figure out by power scaling with the demon data entries. Establishing his minimum stats would be key to the fight.
@@crackededge9351 Slayer can't die while his body can be harmed - he will be K.O but not dead, as he's Primevil which can be killed only by alike one, they work as Prototype's alpha's: they can devour each other and devouring is the only way to kill Primevil - get their soul. They got defeated before (Slayer got a temple on his head, Davoth got turned into the life sphere), they can be sealed or knocked out, but, not psychially killed by someone who's not Prime. And yes it's a confirmed info by Hugo himself - Slayer is a Prime.
The issue. Does Sephiroth count as a Demon? As he is a being made of DNA from an Alien Species. To which he isn't Demon. He may fight like one but DoomSlayer fights the same. On top of that Sephiroth doesn't have a physical body (at least anymore). He is pretty much infused with the spirit of the planet. Among the Defenders and of the Planet. Sephiroth is only seen as the villains as he was tasked with killing humanity. Who was kind of sucking the life energy out of the planet. SOOOoooooo.....who is to say that Sephiroth would even fight DoomSlayer? I mean if Demons end up. Start wrecking havock on Earth. Damaging the spirit of the planet. Sephiroth would rise up and start cutting through Demons. Likely killing humans in the process. As humanity is a plague regardless of how you look at it. So...maybe DoomSlayer would fight Sephiroth? Yet there are just a lot of Demons.
Something I love about your rendition is that, not only does it sound great, it also greatly parallels Jenova, who has really predominant synth's in her songs. It really highlights the danger of Sephiroth and his alien nature. Great job.
Wow. Just wow. Yes, you did... alright... 😏. I know I had just a minuscule amount of contribution to this, but seeing how epic it is, it's still something! 😄 Thanks for letting me be a part of it! -My only criticism is we can never have enough $tripperoth- 💸
I just imagine the demon from Hell sing the course as Sephiroth descends from the heavens holding the Father's head as the Doom Slayer breaks out of his imprisoned coffin
Bro! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this project! I’m currently listening to it right now as I workout and it’s giving me hella energy and pump! Hope to work with you more in the future!
I mistook your "For Those who Fight Further" as an actual DOOM song from one of Indeimaus' video and spent ages trying to find it. That song and this one are perfect Argent Metal covers. Keep up the great work!
The argent metal community is growing! Btw I also broke down and decided to build a six vacuum tube oscillating synth in the name of this ungodly sub-genre😂
I’d love to see Sephiroth fight all those demons. If he didn’t go crazy he would have eventually done it anyway. I can’t wait to see what they do with Seph in the alternate timeline.
geoff giving us DESPAIR because it’s so good it’s mind blowing!! this was so much fun to do vocals for 😄 i’ve been wanting an OWA arrangement from you for so long and this was certainly worth the wait!! 🔥🔥🔥
OH MY GOD ITS A MASTERPIECE One of the greatest compositions combined with one of the most unique and recognizable and undeniably awesome sounds in all of gaming history... and you did it justice. YOU GADDAMN LEGEND
I don't know if it's the experience gain from making these covers, or being able to put more time into them, but there's a chunky improvement in the production with each song. This one just sounds so fucking _full_ , I love it, killer work dude.
This is easily one of the best songs you've done right next to Outlander and I think it's been really fun seeing how you've improved at making this stuff. I'm excited to listen to the high quality version on repeat for the next 3 weeks.
Honestly, the short haired Sephiroth reminds me of Edgeworth.... ESPECIALLY that second picture. Anyway, that aside.... This is a really interesting remix. You NAILED Mick's style to a T.
The entire song was intense, and those vocals fucking melted my brain. I love the way you explained the tech work behind it - - I found Mick's video on the process of creating the 2016 soundtrack fascinating, and this really scratches that itch. Can't wait to share this tomorrow.
This track legitimately had a smile on my face the entire way through. I am almost disappointed Nobuo didnt do something more like this for Remake. Amazing job.
Could you do a DOOM style version of the Warden's Theme or Main Theme from Dragon Age: Origins? Very fitting as the Grey Wardens are essentially the doom slayers of that universe. Also the church choir style of the soundtrack would go well with Doom's overall aesthetic I think, complimenting it.
I literally love your covers of these amazing songs. It's very apparent you've put alot of time effort and care into them and I really admire that. You did my favorite song in gaming so much justice and I'm amazed.
This is insanity incarnate. Doom Slayer would definitely kill Sephiroth with the Crucible but because this is Doom, Doom Guy would have to farm demons from all classes all across a heavenly arena to gun Sephiroth down with boiling red hot lead and plasma until he succumbs while also avoiding Sephiroth and every demon's attacks, even Super Nova and Heartless Angel, but those leave you in slowmo invincibility to be fair and let you farm fodder to stand right back up. That would be the most intense battle ever.
fantastic! though i do have one criticism. The final "Sephirot" of the loop is perhaps a placed bit too soon. Maybe delaying it a tad bit would've sounded better imo.
Alright, so I really liked the Hades and Those Who Fight Further covers you did! But this? This is FUCKING I N C R E D I B L E. Like oh my GOD this is so GOOD.
Geoff, I've stumbled onto your videos over the last week, and you're amazing. Keep doing what you do. I have 3 suggestions, because I can't decide on just one: 1) A Mario medley in the Argent Metal style (I like the genre name. Stick with it.) 2) A Legend of Zelda medley in Argent Metal style 3) Octopath Traveler Battle 2 with boss battle music in Argent Metal. You're awesome. Excited to see your next video, whenever that is.
I'm not really into music (at that level at least), but I thought I'd check it out, and man was not disappointed, I watched the whole video, even though I don't have the faintest idea how those devices work, you made it sound interesting. Not to mention the final product was amazing. Keep it up! 👍🏼
