Peter actually got a good life at the end of this. Which is saying a lot considering his current writers have a fetish with screwing up his life for no apparent reason.
@@Enterprising_Aim Regardless, it's still such a hamfisted way of creating drama that really showcases the writers own lack of talent. Maybe not the first time, but at this point it's like writing a horror movie that goes like "The man threatened the life / innocence of a beautiful young woman". Makes me wonder how many lunch breaks it took to write. Maybe try something to create tension that is less obvious than the color of grass and more difficult to come up with than watching the nightly news?
Symbiote Spiderman is still my favorite and most preferred Spiderman to this day. I still can't accept that Peter Parker's hyperintellect couldn't find a way to coexist with the symbiote like nearly every user that came after him.
Every reader loves the symbionte so marvel milk it back to the story but when he first appear is like adderall/cocaine Spiderman, he is more powerfull and productive for a time but he is also more agressive and volatile, his morals get weaker and every person near him is telling him to chill and go to Mordor and spit that shit into Orodruin using the eagles insted of walking with Sam and a hobbit-junkie
I agree 100% tons of people have bonded with Venom, but every story with Peter just makes him a monster. Like is Venom even evil in the current storyline. Idk it just seems like the idea of Spiderman just holding back has over taken many of his alternate stories. I love Venom and the Symbiotes in general definitely my favorite part of marvel.
This reminds me of another What if I remember reading, where the heroes never returned from Secret Wars and this is where Spidey gets his symbiote suit for the first time as well. Since the heroes never return to Earth, Peter remained bonded to suit without ever finding out what it was, so fast forward a bit ahead where the other heroes have children, when the symbiote accidentally gets unbonded, the heroes only find out then that Peter was long gone & the suit was still attached to Peter's Skeleton, unrelenting in leaving from it's "first love".
Wlwctro has serve problems with his self-esteem. That's why he can't make the full use of his powers. Peter mocking and making fun of him legit hurts his growth.
Especially considering how Reed is a big fuck up a lot as well. This could very well have been a world where he became The Maker and they may have stopped many tragedies getting rid of him.
Let's be honest, killing those villains who have, on multiple occasions, attempted to wipe entire cities off the map, was probably not something a jury would convict lol
He bonded with Flash Thompson at some point. Flash had lost his legs in some warzone, so he bonded with Venom to regain his legs and be some kind of army hitman. Whilst he was still a bit wild, I remember him being fairly good.
I believed that when the time comes, Symbiote Spiderman is the ultimate combo. When he no longer needs to hold back, he will be unstoppable. Unfortunately, there are very few occasions that allow this to happen, and usually is against Hulk or the Thing, so he really not going all out either. Sucks that none of the Avengers, Xmen, or any other hero ever holds back, but we are constantly seeing Peter perform with one hand tied behind his back.
I'm surprised why venom wont go back to spiderman peter to prevent future venom king lmfao venom originally belong to Peter since he was his best host lol
In the comics he always saw Peter as another son but he hates Spider-Man because he doesn't like all masked vigilantes because one of them killed his wife. Which is why when ever he find out who they truly he completely changes thier mind about them.
I remember another version of this from the 80's. This What If had the symbiote draining Peter until he was old and jumping from one hero to another until he got to Thor.
It's weird...Venom stays with Peter, it stays sociopathic. It hooks up with Eddie Brock, and goes on that whole journey, and it eventually becomes at least a kind of hero.
Peter doesn't try to communicate with it and help it like Eddie and Flash. He immediately goes to attacking it and making it think it must assume control
@@OverlordAlastor You know, that's a good point. Peter got so much use out of the symbiote that you'd think he would have thought more about it. But then Peter's always been singleminded since his uncle told him about great power and so on.
@@vsgfilmgroup mhm, it really is a shame. Imagine how many peopld would still be alive and how much happier BOTH of them would be. That shit with Aunt May getting shot never would've happened. The symbiote would also probably sniff out Superior Spider-Man and tell an avenger
it's actually very nice seeing hi being genuinely nice to peter, he didnt just outright blame him he comforted him telling him there was nothing he could do
@@yaserhussain69 She has been some of the only stable ground for peter during hard times, has kept him anchored to his morals and has been a lover to him. Even after One More Day, she continued to be there for him
This whole "holding back" trope is a double edged sword. It shows how low-staked Spidey regular stories are. Like, how is he ever in any danger if all it takes was a "no holding back" punch to end things? I fell in love with a Spider-Man that was quick, agile and alert. He defeated Villains like Rhino, Scorpion, Lizard and Venom by outthinking them. How am we supposed to take a Rhino story seriously if we know he can just get one-punched? The "holding back" is Superman's thing. It makes sense because his theme is that he's a god trying to live with mortals. Spidey's a kid who got powers yes, but was a genius scientist and has strong moral compass rooted in family values. He helps solve problems that are miles above his pay grade with a little science and a little common sense. Leave the god mode stuff to Supes, please! Or Hulk, if you want to stay in the same universe.
I'm not even that much into Spider-Man and I agree. How are there any stakes if he can so easily defeat villains with one punch? Moreover, how is it ever morally acceptable for him to allow himself to lose? So anytime these villains kill people, it's because Spider-Man was 'holding back'? At least Batman has the excuse of, you know, not having literal superpowers. Again, maybe I can't judge because I've never read any Spider-Man comics (just watched the movies and a bit of the cartoon), but it just kind of seems like a lazy way to make a character badass without thinking of any of the implications.
Brock never controlled it the symbiote and Brock just had the same opinion on peter after they were satisfied Brock and venom became dependent on more than just killing peter
Everyone do yourself a favor and read "Spiders Shadow" its a great 5 part mini series. This vid is barely scratching the surface. Aint no way youre just gonna skip over the part where kingpin gets his skull smashed in by single punch, which leads to him revealing Petes secret in the case of his death only for the stinger revealing that not only did Fisk survive but he's about to become Carnage.
The only thing that I really feel should have blown up in Peters's face should have been his cheating (unless I misunderstood and Venom was in control there as well). As I would imagen that most of how he killed in true comic book fashion has killed crazy numbers of people, but I have not read much Spider-man so things here might be different than the normal in DC where there is somehow a moral dilemma over killing the joker after he blows up a bus full of school children. But anyways Great job with this video!
How is killing the joker after he blewup a school full of children a moral dillema? Just kill the joker, or tie him up and let the parents of those children go some rounds
Batman doesn't kill joker because because batman follows no kill rule. Similarly in marvel characters like captain America, daredevil, Spiderman follow the no kill rule.
Marvel doesn`t kill but if you are tired of DC having killing Joker debate nonstop, spiderman got it worse. spiderman is closer to the everyday man, and people empathize more with his pain, so they put him through hell nonstop. it got the point it is torture porn. this is not to tell you they are bad, be prepared to dump spider comics after a while.
Imagine Venom as being like alcohol, only while your judgements laps and your vision blurs your body is actually getting more energized. Your instincts are heightened, you become quick to anger! I wouldn't exactly say Venom was ever in "control" of Peter, but rather Venom influenced Peter! It was Venom's influence that resulted in Peter cheating, which would DEFINITELY require a long discussion and attempt at an apology. Whether MJ would stick around or not, that depends on how the writers think MJ would react.
Honestly it's not even a loss of MJ leaves, Peter can do better than her anyways. And as for moral dilemmas, Peter let's psychos like Carnage and Goblin love despite how many people they've killed.d Make that make sense
I mean, this isnt like he killed petty thieves or even one off or two off murders. Mysterio and the sinister six have killed COUNTLESS civilians directly and indirectly. I’m not saying he should have chosen to go on a rampage, but once he did, I think the heavy atonement is crazy. Sure he should have had to maybe get told not to do it again and maybe go to a psych for a bit, but legal punishment would have caused uproar realistically since all he did was further protect the world by removing them.
The court case would be controversial, at very least For you see, spider man killing anyone, ( Even if they deserve it, which in this case they really did ) immediately sets a presisnt. That would scare the general public. It also gives people who'd Shared Jonah Jameson's ideals more ammunition to work with. In denouncing vigilante heroic behavior.
This sounds cool, I'll check it out. Others should look for another version of this concept in Marvel Comics "What If?" vol. 2 #4, OCT 1989. The symbiote winds up going after Thor! Pretty good story.
"Oh no...I killed bad people who murdered countless....That makes me a really bad man..." Mf just saved countless families and he feels guilty for killing a couple low lives? "Hobgoblin! For the crime of blowing up a school bus full of children, I sentence you to 30 days on parole." "Peter Parker! For killing one bad guy who is responsible for the Brooklyn bombing, I sentence you to death!" That's just lazy writing
At least Peter got a happy ending. It's interesting to see that Aunt May is dead in most of the alternate realities where Peter's life turns better than in the main continuity, in fact One More Day precisely happened to prevent a reality where she was dead.
It would be interesting if Spider man joins the Fantastic Four in the MCU too. Then he'd have avenger AND Fantastic Four experience too by the end of those movies.
What makes this story good head canon for the game, is that the cheated with Felicia....and now we have Spider-Cat baby. Also, Hob globin and everyone else, have committed several murders by now. No one is going to find Spidey guilty, when he got rid of monsters whom have literally killed hundreds(Aunt May included). You'd be hard up to have anyone find him guilty in the actual world.
Symbiote Spiderman is still my favorite, it just sucks that the Symbiote and Peter can't reason with each other of what it means to fight for good, if the Symbiote wasn't so evil and change for good than both It and Peter would be an Amazing Black Suit Spiderman!
I always kinda forget the symbiote hates fire, cause they usually go with the soundwaves weakness cause it'smore unique of a weakness than just fire.... "it's fire, it's everyone weakness" was a line I heard once somewhere else. But ya, it's interesting to think that keeping the symbiote made it stop Peter from entering the flames to save his Aunt. But is also what ultimatly kills Venom in the end through human torch.
I remember that too, from batman in robot chicken about the contingency plans. "Fire is his one weakness!" "Yeah, fire is EVERYONE's weakness: It's fucking FIRE!"
People vastly underestimate how much Spiderman pulls his punches cause he not trying killed that person cause that Spiderman is literally one of the best and most dangerous hero's in Marvel. If he decides not to hold back he can easily take out most characters with ease
Hell yeah finally spider man has a backbone instead of making every situation as a joke that's the spider man that I want to see beat the shit off anyone that mes with him no held back
I just cant get into comics but god are these story lines so fkin good i wish they animate this stuff and not shy away from the serious and gruesome tones they take.
Agreed, when they adapt comics like these they should make them R rated. Also have you read the ultimate Spider-Man run? I'm starting it and I'm enjoying it so far and was made specifically for newbies trying to get into Spider-Man comics.
Please do a back story on The original black flash and the two people like Barry and zoom who take up the mantle after. I'd rather relax and listen to you explain it with pictures vs me looking it all up. I just know the name and the people who used it not the actual back story
Nice to see one of these elseworld stories not end in tragedy. The main continuity has to play things pretty safe so elseworld stories can stray. But because of that freedom, they often end up going all out and making some pretty messed up stories.
Would be nice to see another What if where the Venom symbiote doesn't corrupt the user and insteads helps Peter out and basically shares his ideals but then again this is Marvel we are talking about and they just want Peter to suffer.
Was this comic a What If One Shot story? Or is this something that was retconned into Spider-Man’s history? Regardless, this was a really cool story and I’d love to see more Spiderman adventures we haven’t seen when Peter was bonded to the Symbiote. Cool video and I look forward to seeing more of your content! Cheers!
