I am the first type by tendency, but if some one REALLY cross the line, I have an inner dialog with myself and you are OUT... if I am forced to be in situations with that person, they will feel my distaste... not good at hiding it, even through curt polite dialog.... I am certainly understanding more about this tendency and I know it must hurt to be on the other side of it... saying that if somebody apologizes with feeling and true understanding... I will melt :)

It depends on who it is... if it's someone close to me I can be extremely blunt and harsh (not in calling names or belittling) but it calling out things/behaviors the way I see it. If I don't care about you because you are a friend of a friend or my partner and I don't like you... it's easy to just smile and repeat in my head, "Good thing I know to stay away from you. I never have to see you again. That's nice." An inner dialogue of mine will judge and analyze the person so I remember why not to get too close. One friend of my partner likes to gossip unfavorably about her other friends in a really mean and petty way (like saying her friend smells like fish) and everyone is laughing except for me. I'm fuming because she calls this person a friend yet she's bashing her to us behind her back. OH, you bet I'll be superficial with her and just be a huge question mark to her as to where I stand with her. It's more fun that way 😉

I consider myself as a more passive-aggressive type, but when I am extremely angry, I tend to express my dislike more directly and sometimes harshly.

i've had to deal with that and in my case i found it very unfair as she was the one who initially judged me because she felt attacked by my opinion of alcohol (saying that there's nothing good about it). She decided that after 6 months of friendship it was nice to say "i don't want to meet you anymore" and acted in the most passive aggressive way when i decided it was better to end the friendship and wished her good luck. I truly want the best for people and to see someone being so hurtful against me it makes me sick. Do you consider apologizing after your behavior or do you just disconnect emotionally?

If I don't like someone, I don't interact with the person and do make an effort to interact with the person if I don't have too. And I am not passive aggressive about it either. You're not going to be everyone's cup of tea.

Polite, curt and avoidant for me. I think Enneatype plays a role as well. Looking forward to reading your books that are sitting on my nightstand. As you know, it’s all about timing and the energy for taking in volitional Se data.

True. Why make our lives miserable? Avoid associating with toxic people. Problem solved! LOL!

Interesting views :o I thought it's a coping mechanism of mine, where I deal with problematic behaviors by extensively analyzing them. Why the person did the behavior, the source of the behavior in the context, the origin of the emotion resulting in the behavior... It's like, I play the scene in my head from a distance and I try to interpret the other person's entire life sequence leading to that point pretty much in order to have ease of mind :') Then, further encounters with the same person come with much clarity and a peculiar way of navigating interactions with them. That is indeed if I don't decide that it's just better to discard them silently from my life :'D

I agree. I always want to understand the “why” behind the person and their unsavory behavior, even if they don’t understand it themselves. It doesn’t always work out though, and that’s ok.
@medots6194

@@JakeLikesJoking At the end of the day it's all efforts to safeguard our wellbeing, one way or another. Indeed, sometimes the pain still lingers even after analysis, and that's when time comes into play to mitigate the pain :) But nonetheless, the analysis is always useful, adding new behavioral patterns to my framework of human interactions allows for more refined future interactions :D It's like a life-sized trial and error experiment :'D Nonetheless, I wish you, myself and us all ease of mind and freedom of hurt ^^ --Also man, the way I talked here almost makes me feel like an alien, jeez :')--

I’m INFJ and in situations where I don’t like someone, I won’t be chameleon and don’t try to fit in. But I will be polite but not finding any ground to continue any further conversations. But if someone is rude and really unpleasant I become passive aggressive or withdraw from contacts. But if somebody is rude and aggressive then I will pull out of the vulnerable spot of the person and I can really “;roast ” someone in more psychological ways and I really know where is hurt! But you will never see me into any arguments or screaming match, but I can see that someone really wants that, I just have different ways to deal with twats.

At least for me, it really depends on why I don't like you. I would say I'm what you called "the infinite soul." It took some age and not so fun situations to get here though.

Years ago in an employed job I was working alongside a few people. Many were female. There was one woman I wasn’t too keen on, and I think I must have said something to one of them. Then I was shocked one day when this woman said ‘you like me don’t you’ in a sarcastic way implying she knew I clearly didn’t. I was a bit taken aback and lost for words. Probably words got around via gossip and/or she picked up on my dislike. I don’t remember being overtly unfriendly. This was a much younger, naive me. Too trusting.

Our psychology is not just the sum of our function stack in terms of individual cognitive functions. Eric Strauss only sees MBTI personality as a sum of the individual cognitive functions, but I see this as wrong. Our minds are an interconnected whole, not a series of discrete cognitive function boxes which we switch between.

Do you think we can actually be all those things but use them on different people? Cause theres been times ive been the Solipsistic where i immediately disliked a person and then there are times where the liberated soul comes into play with me. Or is that when an INFJ is on the path of liberation? Also great video like always Ren, cant wait to watch more from you. 💜

What about the super integrated infj... The one who uses whatever tactic works on whichever person that they know they're interacting with? The one who can employ any side of themselves depending on what the other is being? You've never met this mythical creature? well, it is my pleasure to say hello... At which point an infj is so unconcerned with whether or not they are even an infj, at which point their identity is so irrelevant, they might employ any tactic for any reason... They may even stretch into the domain of other types and take from their Play books... So adaptable is the i n f j... So strategic and tactical... That when they are fully integrating all of their abilities and when they have found their root objective in life, as they will, as the advocates that they are... they will not hesitate to take on any role required to get the job done. For unlike Gandhi & MLK Jr., and Nelson Mandela, they no longer have any kind of ego need to be represented to society as some kind of hero and Saint. Instead, they merely want to see humanity healed... As is the fundamental objective of every single infj acted out according to their ability...

That acquires very deep understanding of human nature indeed. However, isn't this constant adjustment and using a tactic/strategy (a.k.a manipulation - of yourself, of others, situation to gain your goal, although you May have good intention) an ego thing too? Your sincere INFP
