I'm genuinely so excited for the future of this series. As a young man who never got to experience the "golden era" of this game I'm hyped for the next generation and curious on where they'd take it. This game, which is basically a tech preview, is already so promising. Going from arma 3 to this is like night and day! Every little feature and addition just makes me so pumped, this is exactly what the community needed. Not to mention the modding potential. so good.
Same here, I didn’t have a computer powerful enough to play Arma 2, and once I did finally Arma 3 released and again I didn’t have anything powerful enough to handle that. Jump 7 years later I finally got a computer to play it and now Arma 4 is just around the corner lol
Same man I’ve always played arma at a friends house and then one day in 2018 I got arma 3 found out it was kinda dead downloaded the A3launcher and found 3 severs that where high pop 2 king of the hill servers and a dayz server I’ve put over 400 hours into these servers so ik when arma 4 come out ima be gaming hella tuff

This excites me greatly. I've played a lot of arma 3 since I got a pc in 2016, and its one of my favorite games. Arma 3 minus clunkiness + other next gen improvements seems god tier
Bro I am soooo excited for this. My uncle used to play arma 2 with me when i was little and now we play arma 3 from time to time. It would be so epic to win this giveaway and get this game for free and then be able to spend my money on Arma 4 when it releases. I am hyped through the roof right now and i am soooo excited. To be honest it seems like Bohemia finally understood that mods are a crucial part of their games and made it really accessible to create them which is great. Looking forward to the future of the Reforger after it gets some mods and Arma 4.
Some folks might not like how it's becoming more like Squad, but I think that's a good thing. Movement looks way better and less slow and clunky. I'll wait until there's more coop before I try it.
Exactly. It needs to be different from Arma 3 and attract casuals to get more money for future content and games. Reforger doesn’t need to be Arma 4 and I like the idea of us playing an upgraded version of Operation Flashpoint on a new engine and other changes.
Fuck the casuals, this is a milsim not a some focused fps like squad. I don’t want to sound like a dick but it’s a stupid take to say the game should be “more friendly”. It’s like saying they should simplify a flight simulator so it’s more appealing to casuals, like guys the point of sims IS TO BE COMPLEX. If you want something easy go play squad or sandstorm.
@@parawill7074 Arma movement are absloutly unrealistic and destroy the game feeling. It was okay 10 year ago with Arma 2 but not today. Wanting realistic movement doesn't make you a casual...
Really hyped for this! I might be in minority, but I would definitely sacrifice HD animations and High Res textures just to have a solid performance. So many epic missions had to be scaled down in A3... Because no matter what, playing a game at less then 30 FPS is not fun.
This completely caught me by suprise, I knew ArmA reforger was leaked and in devolpment for a while, but I didn't expect it to drop so suddenly, I cannot wait to experience this, while I know it isn't ArmA 4, it looks like the first step foward in the future of this series we all love.
I've always been on the fence about getting Arma 3 as it didn't seem very accessible, but Arma Reforger looks like it'll be a lot more accessible to new players.
I'm really excited about what this has to offer as a preview for Arma 4. I became a fan of the Arma series after getting into the Dayz mod back in the day. A lot of the new features are stuff they have are taken straight from the Standalone version of Dayz, which is one of my favorite games of all time. With the new changes the next Arma has potential to be absolutely fantastic.
kindve seems like squad, my friends all have it. don't have the money currently but i have came to the conclusion when i played it at my buddy's house. with the game master seems really cooler differentiating from arma 3 zeus. a lot easier without the complication that arma 3 brings. seems like a beautiful game to contribute to the effort of arma 4. hoping that my crappy computer that struggles to run arma 3 on 30 fps can run this game better. seems like the engine is making it run smoother thankfully, i'm excited with what it could bring to the future of arma games !
The cold war scenario has always interested me! really cool to see an Arma game based around it, I've had my eyes on '83, but Arma Reforger seems like it could hit that "cold War" feeling that I'd like in a modern game.
I've never played Arma but the cold war theme had me sold immediately. Problem is I can only enjoy about 10 minutes in a server before I lose connection or the game crashes.
Can't find any info anywhere about the max player count for a multiplayer Conflict game on the whole island ? Seems like it would need hundreds and hundreds to fill the map up
6:10 YES YES YES FINALLY THEY HAVE DONE IT !!!! Next thing we need is the similar mechanic to the static weapons and more historically accurate ammo and supply crates , maybe some inventory system for the bases , like Ace 3 medical system but simpler . Maybe same system in Foxhole game that a gamemode we will produce our own guns , ammo , fuel , and vehicles as much as we produced , we can bring to the frontline . Even maybe some KSS mod From arma 3 . But with animations . And with all of this , Enfusion's stability will goddamn rock it . Just think a Liberation mode from arma 3 in Reforged and Arma 4 . If that happens , arma is gonna be the damn god of her tier .
This game sucks. After all these years, they still don't know what AK-74/PKM/SVD looks like, nor do they know SVD sight picture (you literally can't see the front sight in the scope, unlike the fuckery they put in game). The "soviet soldier" is using a 3-filter Czech flashlight instead of a 2-filter Russian one. Chest rig is Chechen War era(way past 1989), belt is parade/garrison type(shiny brass instead of subdued green-ish color). Considering how little content there is(in terms of number of weapons...etc.) you would think they might have paid slightly more attention to models.
Yer not my cup of tea, i know graphics aren't everything but there are mobile games that look better than this. I don't get why a lot of newer games look worse than years old games considering the graphics power we have nowadays. TLDR VERSION : IT LOOKS SHITE
I've not played ARMA3 in years becasue it got a bit complicated for me, I like SQUAD because it's like a more accessible version of ARMA so I should like Reforger even more but $30 for a game that may of may not just get switched off at some random time, I can't justify it. Maybe if we had some kind of reassurance from the devs that this will remain a standalone game and be tweaked and fixed and updated for a set amount of time it would be worth it, or even if purchasers of Reforger get a decent discount off of ARMA4. After being stung with BF2042 I'm super reluctant to buy any game that has any kind of risk associated with its future. Shame because it looks pretty sweet as-is.
Everything u showing there is kinda self-evident for DayZ players like me, which is kinda funny because i always tought ARMA is kinda on the same level as DayZ but seems like it was not which is really funny but sad at the same time xD
The graphics are nice. But... the Characters do look uncanny; Not to say Arma 3's characters looked okay; there's just something wrong about the skin of people in Reforger.
What a joke! BI trying to scum their duct taped "new" engine like a used car salesmen. No DLSS, not Nanite. No new impressive tech to make their engine stand out compared to UE5. God I hope some other company comes along and takes over the mil sim market. Been playing CTI arma 3 for years knowing BI would cont to stich their crappy code from one game to the next refusing to actually leave their comfort zone and admit they are trash when it comes to networking and AI performance. Consoles as well! wow thats not gonna lead to even worse sacrifices in the name of accessibility and console gamers.
As a lot of people in the community say it: we can bear the lack of assets as long as there is a mission editor. And there is none(well, workbench, but it is not the same.). Even not Eden, but old 2d editor from OFP would do. Still thinking if I should buy this one. As the one who played since the beggining of the series I feel nostalgic towards Everon, but 30€ is a bit much for game with 2 game modes and no SP content or atleast means to create SP content ourselves. On the other hand it would be nice to support BI while they go towards ARMA 4
What about body control? I mean the number of ositions we had in arma3. Does them exist, or been removed from gameplay? The game looks nice. It seems Bohemia goes the way of Blizzard: "there is a mod, lets build it in to original".
The one thing I can 100% guarantee the 'community' will get is on a NATO ish side the US military will be 99.99% of it thus being predictably ubiquitous.
I have to say one thing about Arma Reforger, and that is the fact that there is no AI commanding in it as i have seen yet. The only way to get a squad with you is to tell that squad to defend your player character. Maybe there is something i have not figured out. But i guess that something like that is possible trough scripting anyway?! This game should have come with that iyam. That would have made so many possibilites for awesome coop and SP missions. Specially one that puts you in a role of squad leader taking orders from HQ. And it would be awesome if you only got new men when you get reinforcements at base to. Bot all in all.... This is a really cool game that will give us maaaaany hours of fun. I love that we now have to navigate by map and compass. No more GPS :D
I just hope it's not as expensive as Arma 3 is including DLC, I know it's a niche game which means it will usually cost more. But the prices are pretty ridiculous. And I'd also love to see more content based around the cold war or maybe even the Korean war/ world war 2. I wasn't a fan of the setting of arma 3. Idk something about a realistic milsim set in the future didn't quite sit well with me. I've always prefered games set in modern times or in the past. Maybe having different scenarios set in different time periods would be good too.
If the console sales do well, this has the potential to destroy the series. Im seeing some concerning red flags right off the bat. Watch. This'll be like Cyberpunk or Ready or Not all over again. Ill notice and point out, on day 1, concerning trends (not bugs, but design decisions) in a game that arent a problem atm but have the potential to snowball into serious franchise-destroyers. People still freshly high on hype will ignore and shun me, even telling me to "git gud" despite me playing the franchise before those people were even born, and lo and behold, everything I warned about will become true.
No real interest compared to Squad, Arma made it's time. Unless they come back with a brand new physic and graphic engine made from scratch there is no point to come back to Arma. I miss Arma 2 but Arma 3 was really a big dissapoitment....
This game is amazing, sure its overpriced tech demo currently, but that's why it's out, bohemia is promising us to shape the game with our input and then after they know what we want they will work on arma 4, which I am all about, I just dont like that they are molding the game around console and bottlenecking PC fidelity just to make a 8 button controller work for arma I hope they keep the game for consoles but require them to have mouse and keyboard and dont do all the UI and Menus around console players with controller you will never have a proper arma experience
I just don’t understand. I’m good with having multiplayer but will we get community made single player missions? I know it has a mission editor “game master” but can people upload their missions for the community?
Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis 2022. If the capability to mod is there from the start, we are going to see a repeat of where the devs laid down a solid foundation and a talented community will elevate it to the next level. This could be where the bridge is built to bring about Arma 4.
And I couldn't believe I said that I'll wait for a sale before buying an ArmA game after 9 years. I hope they add more stuff soon. Wouldn't mind a free key though :P
I’m excited. Have been playing since before it was Arma but stopped about eight years ago. A bit worried about the console aspect though. Is the full Arma 4 going to be true Arma or console compatible?
How is PVP mode playable? I mean I have "some" experience with World of Tanks and teams of random people rarely work as a team, but some people understand stuff like preventing others from getting surrounded or trying to prevent enemies from farming team mates, but this decision is usually selfish trading of hitpoints of your ally for your own damage. Getting more than three colleagues or friends to play with you at the same time is nearly impossible as they have other stuff to do or other games to play. Being in some clan makes no sense unless player is excellent, being in clan of good but not great to bad players is not so rewarding.
It's like Battlefield 1943 where they tested the engine for Bad Company 2. Reforger is that and more, with the ability for devs to create mods and content for this and Arma 4.
I think the most significant reason for Reforger is that Arma 4 simply is not ready and it is still 2 - 3 years away. Because they have a new engine, all of the systems have to be build from ground up and that takes time - and on top of that you have the campaign and so on. However by introducing Reforger the community can test the new engine and features, learn the modding tools and so on. From the perspective of Bohemia Interactive it funds the development of Arma 4 and puts food on the table.
No point.. it will just get flooded with "life" servers any way. Honestly though, of all the game modes.. it's pretty ridiculous how most servers are "Altis Life". Anyone that plays altis life does need to get a life!
Cold War Crisis is one of my favourite games of all time. But what I loved, it was a proper singleplayer campaign. Arma always seemed more of a multiplayer thing…..
Never truly got the Arma experience as Arma 3 was way to buggy and broken and could not join a clan the whole experience was way to complicated for my taste. So I am excited for the future knowing they are fixing stuff that prevented me from having a experience that I truly wanted but never got
I wish they’d redo and release the original Operation Flashpoint A shame they took out the options menu, that’s what I liked about operation flashpoint and ArmA 2 and ArmA 3
arma 3 bends you over and rails you with a metal pipe and all you arma 3 players love it. i can say this with confidence cause i have been gifted arma 3, played it. get buttscrewed hard and only to realise midway through the campaign i was playing on vet diff. 10/10 would try again
ARMA coming to consoles worries me, it will be consolified and therefore watered down and ruined, I'm sick of PC games being bastardised and watered down for their shitting controllers.
I'm happy this isn't Arma 4, cuase honestly when I first saw it I was so angry, the one time I get Arma available on a console and it's not a modern shooter like Arma 3, oh man this cold war setting is fine for now but fuck do we need Arma for to be modern, just imagine the possibilities

I don't buy this argument that this is a test game for a future game. Why not just make an alpha version of the supposed future game and test all you want, instead of charging for people to test and give feedback?

i hope they fix the server hosting end making it more like man of war assault suqad 2 with just host new game then go to steam workshop subscribe apply mods then just play with your frends just like that
I don't like the fact it's releasing in console, I feel like the thing that put Arma above the rest was its complexity, streamlining games in the past has always ruined them imo
