The Indianapolis 500 is one of the most legendary and iconic races in motorsports and American history. This year for the 106th Indy 500 I had the amazing opportunity to attend with the Chevy team! We received early access to the track the day prior and got a ride in the new C8 Corvette Z06 pace car around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Then on race day we started with a police escort to the track, access to the team garages, meeting one of the Indycar drivers, checking out the Chevy race control trailer, pit and paddock access then we enjoyed the race from the Hulman Terrace Suites! What an awesome experience. The sights, the sounds, the smells, the atmosphere, it was overwhelming exciting. A thrilling end ot the race capped off an epic first every Indycar race for me. Awesome! I like seeing people who are not so familiar with racing go experience it. That "sum guy" who crashed with like 6 to go was Jimmie Johnson. He is a 7 time NASCAR cup champion. Only names like Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Sr. have done that. He is in his mid 40s and said, hey lets try Indy car! So he went from 3600lbs stock cars to those. Its his 2nd season and in Indy 500 practice he was 3rs fastest. Amazing. I would love to go to that race. Ive followed NASCAR all my life and follow Indy pretty close. I would like to see you check out the Daytona 500 or NASCAR at Talladega Super Speedway. Those two tracks are best experience for first time races. Much easier to follow and lots of action. Thanks for the inside look and think about doing a NASCAR one.

Eddie you bring that great smile on camera which helps make appealing videos. I’ve owned two 5.0 1979 Mustang Indy Pace Cars 87 to 91. I got parts off of a third 1979 Pace Car which I later figured out was a 500 Festival car. It had been in 3 accidents and was scrapped.

I wish they still let other manufacturers such as Ford and Dodge provide the pace car. Chevy must pump them a lot of money.

It's been a long time since Ford has been competitive at Indy. Dodge? Chevrolet has a long history at Indy. 🏁

@@indioloco6600 You are missing the point, I'm not talking about providing engines for race cars. Look up the list of past pace cars. Fords, Chryslers, Buicks, Dodges, etc. The last non-GM car was the Dodge Viper GTS in 1996.

Those cats are so trick it brings years to my eyes. I wanted to race Indy cars so bad. Ended up doing Superbikes instead but Damm. The series was 100x better back in the CART Champ car days.
