Do they teach you basic anatomy skills, and stuff like taking blood pressure, or you have to be good at science and they go more into details like nursing? Also, is there a math involved in this program?

Medical assistants do perform office duties yes but they are able to draw blood or perform vaccines on patients they also assist physicians with tasks that involve the patient or prepare the room for procedures they are more hands on with patients, the other is just clerical work.

I'm a veteran and I'm interested in this field, how can I find out about training? How is being done during covid? Can this be done on the job training?

Hi There, I'm also a veteran and just enrolled in a 8 month program to become one of these. Look at the brand new program for vets called VRRAP, veterans rapid retraining assistance program. Its a program paid by the VA that just went into effect in June 2021. They pay up to 12 months education in programs like this. I'm in San Diego and will attend Concorde Career Centers program. They are a national outfit and have campuses all over the country depending on where your at. Good Luck and go get it!

Im an Early Childhood Educator. The pay is typically low. Low being $14-16 per hr and high being $20-$23 per hr at a typical daycare. It is very physically and emotionally demanding. I am thinking of moving to becoming a MOA cause I would like to work on my own task Im actually thinking to move to MOA.
