It's just a taste enhancer. Use it with moderation and it's ok. Use every condiment with moderation in fact. Maybe too much MSG isn't good for you but neither is too much salt or sugar.
I had my gastric sleeve surgery 2 years ago and I experience awkward yo-yo changes to my tastebuds and ability to eat normally. So, I would add a few sprinkles of all-in-one seasonings to help with balancing out tastes of food or dishes that I eat and avoid food wasting as a result of changes in my appetite.
I wish someday that the fear of msg will be dispelled with as new generation of kids are much more knowledgeable with the help of the internet. Been fighting since i was young that msg isnt that bad :/ Im 30 now btw Older people i tend to notice blames the unknown instead of facing hard facts that their eating habits are shit. Seriously though. Pork and soysauce. Sometimes vegetable soup and theyre gonna deep it in fish sauce. All that sault and they choose to blame msg as the one that kills?
Agreed it’s too processed for my liking. Just like highly refined sugars and Flours. I avoid them. I love savory dishes so I opt for using natural foods like mushrooms with natural occurring glutamate. Sugars i prefer fruit over Candy any day. My gut doesn’t do well digesting highly processed stuff so white sugar white flour msg added preservatives the forbidden carrageenan added gums, all gave me gut issues for years till I cut them out.
