Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis is a method of genetic examination of embryos by biopsy before they are transferred.
This procedure is applied to embryos on day 3 and day 5.
During the biopsy on day 3, 1 cell is taken from the 8-cell embryo and sent to the geneticists for cell examination. The biopsy on day 3 allows diagnosis of 9 chromosomes or single gene disorders.
During the biopsy on day 5, several cells are taken from the embryo, which has cells that are too numerous to count, sent to geneticists, and in this way, 24 chromosomes can be examined.
According to the genetic indication of the parents who have consulted us for IVF, NGS, PGD or Array CGH methods are applied. According to the results, healthy embryos are transferred to the mother.
