Gameplay wise it's definitely somewhere around Smash 4 quality, it's DAMN good.

I think it looks much better than everything before Sm4sh. Graphics are pretty good.

Theorically you can´t make any inputs while in hitstun but you got the idea. If you watched their video on Smash DI (Which I have no fucking idea how to do) they tell to roll the Stick to the sides of the controller which count as multiple inputs.

+Excalibur Sword I believe its when you input a move while your character is executing another and on the first frame your character is free, you will do that move

There are certain moves/inputs where you can input a move before the end lag of the move you used before ends, this will cause your next move to come out on the first possible frame. For example, when you do, say, an up tilt in smash 4, you can input another up tilt 10 frames before the first up tilt ends and the second up tilt will come out. Another example, when you jump, there are frames when your character has not left the ground called the jumpsquat animation. If you input a move during this animation, you will perform an aerial, unlike in Melee which lacked a buffer for jumpsquats (you couldn't use an aerial if you input while in the jumpsquat frames).

Don't check it out brawlhalla ain't worth your time compare to smash the community is crap thats my only reason :P

+Buetifull Persun *our and of course that's what makes smash, but this isn't smash that's what makes the two games unique and not all of them are nintendo characters...there is also Snake, Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-man, Ryu and (soon) Cloud. There might also be more from the ballot and just because they're not nintendo characters doesn't change that it is a good game and smash fans might love RoA too.

+Teknoor A I agree completely. Personally I'm just going to stop expecting things from smash that the creators have no intention of implementing and switch over to rivals of aether for my competitive smash fix. I'm guessing that's what Dan Fornace had in mind while creating the game.

Buetifull Persun I wouldn't agree that Smash would slowly die if it didn't have nintendo characters I just think it wouldn't be as popular as it is today I mean it would have still been popular due to it's unique gameplay being (maybe) the 1st platformed based fighter or whatever but not as popular as it is now and of course there's other successful fighters that were original characters like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Tekken, Soulcalibur, and Virtura Fighter to name a few. Even though Smash could have been a thing without our beloved Nintendo characters I sure due love the Sakurai Magic it has with having our beloved Nintendo Characters and helping me know other great games like Fire Emblem (One of my favorite games) , Xenoblade Chronicles and F-Zero

RoA beats Smash 4 IMO

As a game in and of itself, _Rivals of Aether_ is, in its current state, inferior to every _Smash_ title, lacking any game mode other than 2-player. It's only made to be played competitively, but in that aspect, I'd say it's on par with _Project M_.

If Nintendo didn't take down _Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion_, they won't take this down. It doesn't use any of Nintendo's intellectual property, and only uses game mechanics and move animations that Nintendo never patented.

+ShinSHOGO I don't think so the closest is Wrastor having her Up-Tilt, but that's it. Still a great game that I would recommend for anyone that likes smash but do whatever you feel like doing :D
