Yup. Grace is simple, believe. Ephesians 1:13-14 "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory"

If we are on a sinking ship, and there is a small lifeboat whose captain claims will not only save you from sinking but will take you to paradise, and you refuse to get on because there is no room to bring your stuff, you can claim to believe all you want - but if you truly believed, you would gladly drop everything and get aboard. This is what Jesus was referring to by the parable of the man who sold everything to buy the pearl of great price, and it's what James was referring to when he said that faith without works is dead. With the heart man believes unto righteousness. You can give lip service all you want, but if you really and truly believe in your heart, and you know that God is Light and in Him is no darkness, repentance from sin follows necessarily. I repeat: if you really and truly believe in your heart, and you know that God is Light and in Him is no darkness, repentance from sin follows necessarily.

Amen brothers. Faith is the absence of work. Romans 4:4-5. To him that worketh, is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believe on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. God can not owe us. We owe Him a debt we could never pay. He paid our sin debt in full so that we would not have to go to hell to pay for them. The gospel. First Corinthians 15:1-4. That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures. Those who believe that gospel are no longer condemned, John 3:18, and given eternal life through the seal of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13-14. Why did those in Matthew 7:21-23 believe they were saved but were not? They never did the will of His Father. John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent me, that all that seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up on the last day. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace ye are saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God, NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should BOAST. You can not boast in a free gift that we did nothing for. Those in Matthew were boasting in all their good works, but never trusted Jesus as their savior. True believers have nothing to boast in because we did nothing for it but believe on Jesus as the only way of salvation plus nothing. Romans 11:6 AMAZING GRACE, JESUS PAID IT ALL AND WE PAID 0. IT IS FREE, or not at all.

"Even the devil believes and trembles" and "You will know them by their fruit" are both sayings of Jesus; therefore, believing Jesus is who he says he is which is so loving, forgiving, huge, and amazing toward us, that believing he loves and forgives us and gives us new life will result in a change of heart first and spread out into our lives and behaviors. For example, when you love someone and you hang around them and spend your time getting to know them, ("he who abides in me and I am in him will bare good fruit." "I am the vine and you are the branches", "without me you can do nothing."), you will become like them and bare the same kind of fruit as them. So if you hang out with Jesus and learn more about him by prayer and reading God's word, the bible, you will become more like him and do more things like he does naturally, both because you love him and want to be like him and because his words and his presence is so influential with it's great love. The apostle John wrote,

No such animal as saving faith. That modifier "saving" is what Lordship Salvationists use to change the word of God. The bible says your saved by faith, significantly less faith than a mustard seed will do.

***** Oh. Well I certainly didn't say that for sure. I stated exactly what the bible says - we are saved by grace through faith. It does not say "saving" faith which is the domain of all Lordship/Calvinist heresy. They modify words. You're changing the meaning of the word faith when God intended only the word faith to be used.

***** "The word "saving" is used to distinguish" Your method of "exegesis" is laughable. The word "saving" is used by you, but NOT the bible. Sorry. I'll take what the bible simply says, not what a man says. The bible does not make this distinction. This is what's known as 'Eisegesis.' You have a (false) doctrine you're trying to prop up, so you "interpret" scripture by adding words and in so doing you modify scripture. You need to learn how to interpret scripture. You don't know how.

But God loved me so much He went to the cross to take the punishment I deserve so I would no longer be condemned to hell. John 3:18. First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. Romans 4:5-8. See you all in heaven. Jesus paid it all and we paid 0. IT IS FREE. Romans 11:6 All grace, no works. Our works can not save sinners which we all are. AMAZING GRACE. Jesus paid the debt and set us free. I love you guys who preach the truth. First John 2:2 and First Timothy 2:4. IT is Gods will that everyone believe on Him alone for the free gift of eternal life. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, and we all sin, First John 1:8, and we all die, but the GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE, THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

When you put your faith in Christ He gives you the power of good works. But you are not justified by the works. James refers to a faith without works as dead, because a true faith regenerates a believer into wanting to do good works. So, yes, all you need is faith.

Doesn't faith in Jesus mean faith in everything Jesus taught? Like that repentance is necessary, like that if we love Him we have to keep His commandments, like that divorce and remarriage are wrong, like that we must eat His Body and drink His Blood, that Purgatory exists. Jesus said all these things and if we believe in Jesus we must believe all these things.

George Penton, Listen to Paul speak to the Philippian jailer: Acts 16:30-31 - '30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.' When did you hear the thief on the cross cry out the 'You died for my sins and I am so grateful you rose from the dead'? All he said was 'remember me when you get to paradise'. Jesus knew his heart and He, himself, did not even rise from the dead yet. Of course the crucifixion and resurrection are central and core Christian doctrines, but all you need to believe is that Jesus is the Christ (this is a title meaning the Messiah or Anointed One) How about this: 1 John 5:13 - 'These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God.' What does know mean? It means you have assurance of salvation by believing on the name of the Son of God. Go back to the Gospel of John which is the only book in the entire NT written to unbelievers with winning believers to Christ, as stated by John himself, as its sole purpose. The Purpose of John's Book John 20 30-31 - '30Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book. 31But these are written so that you may BELIEVE that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by BELIEVING you may have life in His name.' Over 99 times in John's Gospel only the verb BELIEVE is used and Jesus being God's only begottten Son as all that one can do for salvation. John 5:24 - 'Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life.' John 6:28-29 - '28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.' God bless!

The thief on the cross had faith. He did not works to be saved. Think about it. And what is his command ms? It’s to love. We are under a new covenant. Because the law could not save us. Only Jesus could do that. We cannot boast about our Gaines salvation. Because he gave it to all who believe.

faith simply means exercise of free will. it is the choice of the heart of the person. This "free will" choice of the sinner to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the faith God imputes into our account as righteousness. If this faith is real, it "will" produce works. so many are confused about the difference between faith and faith produced works, they don't know the application of these 2 in salvation and get confused about what is and what is not needed in salvation. ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate you. Make sure you are born again and your dead spirit has been made alive so that you can understand spiritual things of God.

Why did Jesus have to die for humanity? The answer to this is what you believe in! We live in POST death & resurrection time, NOT with Jesus. Jesus died for the sins of mankind as the Lamb of God yes? He took it upon Himself to suffer, die, and rose again, yes? If Jesus had to die for us, then we have violated something terribly yes? If we do not understand WHY Jesus had to die for us, we will have no appreciation the cost He paid on our behalf! We believe that Jesus died for us (sinners who violated God's holy law, man's law, or the Royal Law to love God with all our heart and mind and our neighbor as our self...we are all guilty of this!) Unless we are aware of our guilt before God, we have no need for forgiveness! To believe in Jesus is to accept that He alone can save us (save us from what?)...save us from our state of sin to have eternal life! BELIEF needs to be explained and that is the gospel over, "Just believe!" Believe is WHAT? The devil believed in Jesus! This is a matter of head & heart...to repent that we are living a life lost in sin and selfishness and under the prince and power of this age to have new life in Christ! We are either IN Christ or OUT of Christ! All men are OUT of Christ and the gospel is to share the GOOD NEWS to be IN Christ!

Well I'm glad I clicked on the additional links Mr. Nothing left below; he quoted what I was going to quote. Dr. Bob, from this very short presentation, teaches easy believism which is accompanied by faith. There are so many facets of Christianity and following in obedience to Christ that a minute and 32nd sound bite is not enough to really cover the topic. Dr. Bob is a dangerous theologian and those that deny Lordship salvation are either misinformed or prefer living in their sins and still think they have an eternity in heaven before them. Another talking point in the "security in sin" gospel.

I cannot figure out how you came to your conclusion. Your conclusion is so far out in left field it's mind boggling. Security in sin proponents can only present a few verses taken out of context or completely misunderstood. @zsombornagy3935
@zsombornagy3935 8 лет назад
+Dennis Bryan I looked at your website you linked. I would like to let you know that once you are saved, you are always saved. Hebrews 6:4-6 clearly states (KJV) that if you were able to loose your salvation you could not get it back. If backsliding did cause someone to loose their salvation, then where is that line drawn? What do you mean security in sin? Of course we need security in sin, otherwise we would always loose our salvation, (if always because as I said you can only have it once). Paul even said that he does the things which he doesn't want to do and he doesn't do the things which he wants to do. You acknowledge that in Christ is our righteousness. He lived a perfect life. By what means does us obeying him when we all sin do any good? The reason we needed him is because we couldn't obey and have all transgressed the law, and we need to be able to appear righteous in front of God on judgment day which can only be done through the Jesus Christ. Now I do agree that someone who gets saved will probably have some changes in his life.

So "Saving Faith" means what the 1st Century Jews would have thought it meant BUT NOT WHAT JESUS SAID IT MEANT??? So what WE decide 1st Century people WOULD HAVE thought should be the basis of what being saved means? You would RISK ETERNITY a historical grammatical theory rather than declare what JESUS SAID BELIEVING IN HIM MEANS??? This perspective is a damning one. Jesus said things far more severe than that He was Messiah. He declared Himself to be the Judge who would punish the wicked, that the wrath of God is upon the wicked unless you "Believe"... to "Believe" is not as presented in this video - to believe the right things about Jesus being Messiah and "Savior"... Saving Faith is trusting in Jesus Christ and His shed blood shed to satisfy the wrath of God against you ALONE as your hope of salvation. THAT is Saving Faith.

BELIEVING is more than just allowing an idea into your head and agreeing that it's true. A TRUE believer in Jesus Christ will walk as he did and KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in the Lord: WALK as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is ACCEPTABLE unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the UNFRUITFUL WORKS of darkness, but rather reprove [them]. Saving faith manifests itself in a true believer; having the fruit of the Spirit; works of righteousness by living in obedience to the Lord's word.

Saving Faith God redeemed man when he was alienated from God in his mind (Col 1:21) . It is a myth that our faith makes us worthy to stand before God. The blood of Jesus is the means by which God reconciled all men to Himself and redeemed all and justified all unto life (1Tim 4:10; 2Cor 5:19; Rom 5:18) so that they could "stand" before Him. Salvation that was effected through the redemption of mankind, was a gift of God and it is not of ourselves; it is not due to anything ...within us, not even our faith (Eph 2:8-10). Faith has no merit in and of itself; it is what it appropriates that has merit >>> the goodness of God in Christ Jesus -- that revelation. THAT is what is what is calculated to change one's heart and mind and bring trust in God (i.e. commitment to God revealed in good works without which it is not living faith). THAT is what was calculated to bring about a change of mindset >>> out from Adam into Christ. Faith works a change IN the believer, of what had already been effected FOR him (or her), Then he naturally lives OUT in his life that which is being worked within by the Spirit (Phil 2:13). Faith brings us into right relationship with God (justification) until which time we walk in the darkness of our mind. Faith is not salvation itself, it brings salvation to us ... it changes one's relationship toward God and makes real in our life what God has already done for man! We realize! Redemption was 100% God's work. God didn't need our permission, our request, or our faith, to do what He did through Christ. Yet, faith is the key which opens the door to the realization of the objective reality of what God did through Christ. In that sense only it is "saving" faith. Paul says that we are granted to believe, not that we create that belief (Phil 1:29) so even our faith is from God in Christ "the author and finisher (lit. Gk 'perfector') of our faith" (Heb 12:2). We can no more make ourselves alive then we can lift ourselves up by our bootlaces. It is the work of the Spirit to bring life where there is death. Christ is a quickening Spirit to the soul; it is the goodness of God in Christ that leads to repentance. Saving faith then, is a trust that brings us into a right relationship toward God who has already reconciled us to Himself. And that, for me, is the marvel of Grace!

Thank you. I had to write because watching several of these very short videos in a row I realized the statements being made were very confusing and not able to be understood by a child. But John's Gospel and Jesus' gospel is: " God created a world perfect for us to live with him. We sinned and have to die. God loved us so much that he gave us his only begotten son so that whoever believes in him (that Jesus was all that he said he was) shall have life forever with God and Jesus. If we abide in Jesus and he abides in us, then just like the vine Grampa stuck into his own apple tree, we will be a part of Jesus and God (for they are one) and we will get all we need from the vine/tree and we will be like a tree planted by rivers of living water and good fruit will grow from us. We will come to know God+Jesus more and more and become like them because all their good love and power and wisdom will surround us and flow through our branches and leaves so it is like we actually do have his life

Faith doesn’t save us . GRACE saves us. But we RECIEVE grace BY FAITH. It is not a work and is not WHYwe are saved , BUT IT IS A CONDITION UPON WHICH TO RECEIVE GRACE . And we STAND by FAITH. And U must continue in the faith to be saved on the day of the Lord.

Faith is not just believing in what God promised. Faith is believing in what God says John 5:46 & 47 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. 47 But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?” Lets look at what Jesus says John 5:28 "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out- THOSE WHO HAVE DONE WHAT IS GOOD will rise to live, and those who HAVE DONE WHAT IS EVIL will rise to be CONDEMNED. 30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me." HOW CAN THIS BE? It is very simple FAITH ALONE IS FALSE. "Behold the Lamb of God who TAKES AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD" Faith alone does not take away the sin of the world it makes everybody think it is OK to sin. This is the opposite of what Jesus' death was suppose to accomplish. "For this reason He was manifested to do away with the works of Satan." They have all gone in the way of Ba' laam who loved the wages of unrighteousness. Take heed false teachers abound! FAITH ALONE is only mentioned one time in the bible, go search it for yourself. And it says we are NOT saved by faith alone.

If belief in Christ were all that is necessary the devil would be saved, because Luke 4: 34 says the devil believes in Christ. No, it takes both faith AND good works to be saved, and the reason the devil won't make it is because he lacks good works.

This is horrible. Saving faith in the Bible is not acknowledging something is indeed true.

It is actually... “And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” ‭‭John‬ ‭20:30-31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ www.bible.com/114/jhn.20.30-31.nkjv “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭11:25-27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ www.bible.com/114/jhn.11.25-27.nkjv

Many believed in Jesus. Judas believed in Jesus, and it was said of him that it would have been better if he had never been born. The nature of saving faith is a submission of the heart, entrusting all that you are to the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in His death on the cross for your sins and His resurrection from the dead for your justification.

Faith is simply believing what Jesus said. John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE, and shall not come into judgement, but is passed from death unto life. John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent me, that ALL that seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up on the last day. First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.

@@jimkraft9445 Yes in the context of John 5:24 it is. But obviously many profess to have faith and yet will not be saved. Your reference to 1 John 5:13 is about assurance of salvation and "these things I have written" that John speaks of is reference to his whole epistle of 1 John, in which he goes through traits of a true Christian. Clearly, salvation is more than a mere profession of faith in Jesus.

Matthew 7:21-23 Many shall come before me on that day and call me Lord, and prophesy in my name, and cast out demons, in my name, and do many wonderful works, in my name. Then I will declare unto them, depart from me, I never knew you. Not I did know you and now I do not. I never knew you. Why? They never did the will of His Father. They trusted in what they did instead of what Jesus did for us plus nothing. John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent me, that all that seeth the Son, and BELIEVETH on Him, may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up on the last day. Since they never believed on Jesus as the only way of salvation by grace without works, (Ephesians 2:8-9) they were never sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:13-14. They trusted in their own works instead of Jesus finished work on the cross. Romans 8:9 Without the Spirit of God, there is no salvation. With the Spirit we have eternal life. Second timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, the foundation of God is sure, having this seal, (the Holy Spirit) the Lord knoweth them that are His. And let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. What did He say in Matthew 7:21-23 I never knew you. They did not believe in Him and did not have His Holy Spirit in them.

It is in reference to John 1:12 But as many as received Him, (His free gift of eternal life) to them gave He power to become the children of God, even to them that BELIEVE on His name.

@@jimkraft9445 Yes, these things are absolutely true and I am in agreement with them. But believing in Jesus is more than an intellectual acceptance about what He has done.. The the problem is that this man (Bob Wilkin) teaches that those who have a profession of faith in Christ yet live like the devil may still be saved, though they care nothing about Jesus and His words. He also teaches that there is no need for repentance and rejects that someone must yield to Christ as Lord in order to receive Him. There are videos on my channel to address these subjects.

Servant850 Not even! These folks don’t even say a prayer, they say “it’s works!” You just “believe “ some facts and get your seal and go on your way. Your all done. Mission accomplished. No more worries. Jesus did it all! He even fulfilled your calling, did the will of the Father for you! He may even have believed for you! Believing might even be a work for them pretty soon!
