While this is FAR from a comprehensive list of the kinds of guitars you could use for blues playing...
I did my best to give you a little taste of some of the more common varieties and you can let your own ear be the judge.

I'd say the best guitar for the blues is one with strings. The blues ain't in the guitar, it's in you.

They're all good! Buddy Guy said this about the guitar - "Give it everything YOU got, and it'll give you everything IT got." I have a Gretsch Electromatic, and those pickups bite. Very chime-like and it plays the blues every night.

Clapton's Strat isn't your regular Strat. It has a 25 dB mid range boost in it on the middle knob. It really sings the Blues when played through a Fender ‘57 Custom Twin Tweed. You should ask my neighbors. 😁

I liked the Les Paul, 335 & PRS but I prefer to play a Strat. The larger necks don't feel right to me. With pedals & amps you can get your sound with any of them.

IF I could only have one electric to play blues it would be...A hollow bodied one. I just really like the tone of them. Of course you can play anything on one, think Dave Edmunds.

Would love to know the setting on your blues driver …when you showed it in the beginning with the Strat it was like heaven ……I can’t play for shit , but I have a fender amp and a waza blues driver I havent even used yet ,though I’ve had it about 1.5 yrs …(mustang gtx100 is just so much quicker than dialing in the tube amp ) I need to at least get it into the chain somehow ..

I start with the knobs at noon and adjust level to make it even level off vs. on, then I usually drop the gain just a touch and the tone usually comes down just a little. By the end they're around 11:30 on the dial.

Great demo test, thank you; one of each please 😊 A complete novice when it comes to electric guitars, 2 questions if I may: 1. What is a Blues Pedal, which model were you using in the demo? 2. I have seen Strat style with a Humbucker at the bridge and two mid/neck Coils , eg. Yamaha, does this offer more or less in tones, or maybe just marketing ? Thanks

@@colinc3292 1. boss blues driver BD-2 2. Humbucker in the bridge makes it less of a strat but good if you play metal or hard rock occasionally and want a single guitar that covers all bases.
