After spending 10 years in sales myself, I believe the approach explained in this video is the most important lesson to learn. Consultative selling really is the best way to sell. It provides a positive experience throughout the entire process for all parties, as well as the best possible solution/outcome for the customer. So much so that the customer will end up thanking you and referring you to others.

Thanks Brian. I'm going to focus more on the person I'm speaking with and how best I can serve them by asking questions, being genuinely concerned, take notes and confirm that I've understood what their challenge is that they need a solution to.

WOW. fantastic explanation. so consultative selling is all about helping customers reach their strategic goals by using the product or service. rather than satisfying the need or solving the problem.

As always, Mr. Brian Tracy delivers valuable information! That's why he's been one of my primary mentors for 2 decades (even investing in his mentoring program at one point)! However, I don't understand the exaggerated hand gestures that seem to have developed in the last several years in his videos...? Does anyone notice this as well? I find it quite unappealing to watch and I'm curious as to what others think? I pray it's not a medical condition! He's a great man that's taught me SO much, so please don't think I'm being disrespectful!

Hi, well I do notice this, and if you look it from a different perspective, gestures are like a secondary lenguage, so if you pay attention to it, this ones are related to what he is talking about, its actually pretty interesting and amazing too! Also may I ask, who are your other mentors? And what probing questions you recommend?

@@yigs0556 , have you studied NLP or any of its related fields? There’s definitely a lot taught about body language as part of one’s communication dialouge. There’s a great teacher by the name of Vanessa Van Edwards on RU-vid with a very popular channel if you can locate her (ru-vid.com/show-UCj9QBB4bNTv29f4oFIreNmw). As far as probing questions go....it doesn’t get any better than meta-modeling. If I recall correctly, there’s also the Milton Model that’s extremely effective. Doug O’Brien out of NYC has a set of DVDs that’s amazing (don’t let the year of their release cause hesitation, they’re gold and always will be! He has some other DVD sets I can’t recommend enough...one’s on pattern’s of influence). Nicole Schneider, the CEO of Global NLP has been my personal teacher and mentor though. She’s pretty amazing. As far as mentors go, I’ve been relentlessly studying numerous areas of self development for over two decades now which equates to a lot of mentors! So it kinda depends on what you’re interested in specifically... I go from the quantum sciences to biomechanics & human moovement to spirituality, Stoicism, all of the different areas that make up the traditional fields of “success”, etc., etc..

How about this question to your current clients, associates etc if you are a Accounting, Business and Taxation service provider.... "So do you have financial goals?" or "What are your have financial goals". A yes or no answer will lead to an interesting discussion.

What is one thing I would do, as a result of this video , to become a consultative seller ? Do a lot of pre approach research on the client company, their revenue model, their competitors, their possible pain areas & ( during the meeting with them ), ask a lot of pertinent questions.
