Xeno might be a symbol of reborn, clean, new slate. But the question is, how will he begin that new slate? We might never know (yet) because we have killed him before he fulfills his destiny. But I can say that new slate involved with a lot of explosion or probably just one big bag like explosion though lol XD. Same like how Fatalis cleanse the ancient civilization perhaps.

well lore wise i belive that that wold be the end of the game, kinda like the bahamuth in the finfal fantasy mmo, sinceya know xeno is kinda implyed to be a god, the blue flame fatalis, a beast that was an individue that attained a shard of divinity and divine level of power by sheer rage, and justice, a being that is beyond even the fatalis that any hunter, or group of hunters can even hope to chalange, who wold say a freaking god, and even in the notion that it is just a freaking strong beast, a higth mobility crazy resiliant laser breathing beast may be beyond anything that the monster hunter wolrd can hope to match, the breath power of a premature born hathling is almost strong enougth to kill a well equiped and beyond powerfull hunter, his hand pound explosive, is if i remember a insta kill, now lets just think , we have no idea of how large that dragon can grow, imagine he just using that move, squashing a fortress, and blowing up the continent that that place was in, even more , in its birth it was allready atacking, xenogiva landed the first blow ,almost ending one of the wyverians, maybe it was afraid, but still we have no way to know if its thougth process was one of the tree 1child "oooooo strong humanoid smeling of death, must protect my self" 2 fatalis revange "filthy mamalian, you will pay for your ancestor sins". 3 new tyrrant "one to fall at my feet or perish none shal escape my rule i am the ruler of this planet", any sort of assumtion wold be a blind shot, and just think of it , as humans we atack what may be a treat to us, that xenogiva could be a peace maker , could be a bringer of happynes and lolipops , but it could also be a world ending treat, and even if the end of all human live(i do not belive that monsters and dragons wold get away with no troble) just bloody try to tell a kid that his mother and allmost all of his contry died because that the lazy and flat out insane hunters guild decided to leave a beast like that alone because it may be a wild card , as much as i like lolipops, i belive that the risk was too great to let a powerfull being like that to grow even more

Your ability to express your opinion respectfully is a rare trait. I personally like this theory quite a bit and believe it is backed strongly by in-game evidence. However upon reading the Tale of the 5 multiple times I have a theory that is a bit more “out there” 👽 🛸

The Inhuman One hey man was thinking of this just now and googled it to see if anyone else has covered it. The tale of the five I believe is Zora Magdaros, Kushala Daora, Teostra, Vaal Hazack and the Sapphire Star Xeno'jiiva.

I'm definitely leaning the same way you are. I see the Tale of Five as a Creation Myth within the MonHun universe, but just that, a myth and not a literal telling of how the world was made. But hey, open to interpretation and all that, I'm not one to tell someone they're wrong just because I see/prefer it a different way.

+Madman6884 Yeah, totally. Despite having crazy creatures in it, the MoHun series has always been fairly grounded without magic and all of that. Monsters being able to shoot lasers and the like is always explained by "special organs and a diet of crystals" etc.

Well, i like the idea, but i see some issues. Yama isnt really a “major” elder dragon. I don’t really think it’s on the right track using the “must be this absurd HR to fight” elders. If anything, the ones that play big roles in the story seem more likely. Maybe the mountain one is Lao, and Amatsu the rain, and the land could be Jhen. Dalamadur seems plausible, though, and Jhen could be the forests because it’s a symbol of fertility and prosperity.

And with alatreon, I don’t think Alatreon’s powers revolve around weather. Yeah, the award in 3(u?) for killing it says the wearer can control the weather, but when observing alatreon, there’s just not much supporting it. Dragon doesn’t represent a weather, and neither does fire, really, unless you want to make a stretch and say that’s for sunny weather. Amatsu fits a lot better for that

I wasn't so much basing it on the HR required to fight it, so much as the significance of each Elder in the respective games. I said Yama because even though It seems like a loose connection at best, all the other Elder dragons I suggested were the final bosses of a generational game. Amatsu is very plausible but I think Alatreon fits the bill better due to being much more pivitol to 3rd gen as a whole, and the line from its bio: "Blazing black dragons, so named for resembling both lightning and darkness. They mercilessly tear apart whoever touches their sharp scales. Elementally unstable, *their actions can affect the very weather.* Living natural disasters." Although its less of controlling the weather but more affecting it, I think combined with its status as the sort of "flagship" Elder Dragon of 3rd gen is compelling enough. The same goes Yama, being the final boss of MH2. Jhen Mohran to me doesn't seem that likely because even though its a symbol of fertility, thats more of a moniker the people of Loc Lac give to it. Other than the connotation surrounding Jhen it really has nothing to do with forests or growth really for that matter. In addition I think its more likely that the five elder dragons in the story come from before the Dragon War, as the Tale of Five vaugely references the rise of the ancient civilization, and Jhen Mohran dosen't really seem all that ancient to me, whereas the other five are definitely more "godlike" in comparison, and many of them are confirmed to live millennia (Fatalis, Dalamadur, Yama).

Kenneth Medrano First dragon is likely referring to Zorah Magdaros instead of Dire Miralis. It’s a lot more volcano like and it’s probably no coincidence that it and the five dragons creation myth were both introduced in MHW. The Mountain dragon is almost certainly Lao Shan Lung. Its name is literally “Old Mountain Dragon” in Chinese. IIRC the ones we fight in the Monster Hunter games are nothing but juvenile specimens, and even those are as tall as the fortress. Apparently fully grown Lao Shan Lungs are huge enough to be mistaken for mountain ranges.

shadow60 Ah, I forgot about Old Man Zorah, yeah he has more chances of being that, although both are based on Volcanoes so same deal. And I have never fought Lao as I started at MHP3rd, so never really knew he was called that. Good call on that.

If Xeno’jiiva is the saphire star than I feel that none of the other existing elder dragons are ‘the five’, they just don’t quite possess the same divinity like Xeno’jiiva...

Also Zorah somewhat gave its life so that Xeno could be born, which indicates the two are not really on the same level...

It would be interesting and a cool concept if Zorah became the next island, so we can explore on it with a different ecosystem

well, understand that the Japanese view gods differently. In the west, we have this concept of inherent divinity that states that a god is always a god; even in the rare cases that a god is born the way we understand it (like with some greek legends) it instantly has its divinity and often is birthed fully grown. In the east, however, there's this concept that anything has the potential to become a god, even mundane things like cats and dogs and people, and just because something is a god doesn't mean it can't or won't mature further, or even lose some of its divinity, or even be killed entirely.

This is coming from someone who only played world but to offer my two sense. Perhaps Fatalis is simply the first form of the elder dragons? After the dragon gods died to create the new world eventually elder dragons came about and Fatalis was the first kind and over time they diversified to what we have now?

If you look into the whole franchise you will learn that there have been nearly 50 elder dragons (if you include all the variants). Also Xeno’jiiva is another elder dragon which makes it 7

Brendan Horn Well, if you'd have played the main series games before MHX then you'd really be suprised at how the lore is quite built to make teostra and kushala more intimidating and god-like. Kushala IS a force of nature. In a sense, it is capable of controlling the weather at will. Teostra however, doesn't build up much to its name. Although having been termed as capable of fully "controlling" the element of fire, his abilities do not really have that sense of domination, kinda lacking in the oompf factor. Your opinion was wonderful however, and I would really recommend that you play at least mh3u from there on.

The one who become a mountain is dalamadur why cause when you fight him in mh4u you see him incased in rocks.the one that created rain was amatsu becuz storm follow him everywhere. Arent the elder dragons that migrate there just die there? The only reason the elder crossing happens is when an elder dragon thinks its gonna die so it goes there, dies and release its lifeforce unto the new world.
