@@andrewlavender08 Yes I have to agree. My 2003 GT has 160k miles and currently has a broken piston ring. I’ve been thinking LS swap but also don’t want to give up on the 2v because I see how much power your GT makes so I know big numbers are possible! Your channel is awesome for us 2v owners that want to make power out of these motors.
Andrew Lavender yeah I know what u mean cause I got friends with LS stuff and we rag each other all the time plus I make them watch your videos just to irritate them while we're at work. lol. honestly because of your channel I'm actually looking for a 02 to 04 2 valve for my next project once I finish redoing my 2 valve pushrod motor
Congrats on your Mod Nats win 2018. Very nice stand up guy, glad we had the chance to meet you and talk to you and your family. It helps me and my nefew, Jimmy to get our 2v build going in the right direction. Great videos also, keep doing what you do Andrew, you will get them 7s!!!
My first love was a chev 302 small block but my dad introduced me to the 4.6 when he bought a 96 mustang GT. These engines are strong and sound great I'm a 4.6 believer for sure I like the clean looking intake manifold you use sharing big league knowledge like a friend would
New subscriber here....I really appreciate your work towards mod motors bro! You've shared alot of valuable info on your channel. I'm ready to tear into my 96 2v...cobra head and Intake swap. Long time coming but you have helped motivate me to get it done and get back on the vht... keep em comin and congrats on your 8.50 pass! Shes ridin
Thanks bud i appreciate the video really nice job on the stang its kinda amazing how you got that much power out of a 2v. Also cool how you setup the car keep up the good work and videos
great job on running in the 8.50s you have earned it with all your hard work. could you please point me in the right direction for a start up, break in tune for my 4.75 mmr longblock best of luck 2v and 7s around the corner
Could have sworn that I subscribed some time ago. Just had to resubscribe this morning. Is RU-vid screwing around again? I take these videos out to show my garage. Show them to my 2000 Mustang GT convertible. The wife and I just take it out to ride with the top down.
Great info, you seriously should put all this 2V knowledge in an ebook and sell it! To hit those 8.5's @ 160 MPH I'd think you'd need to make 1200 hp @ 30 psi boost, meaning NA it's probably near 400hp? With a 90mm throttle body and big intake, high flowing heads and big cams that's certainly possible, are you reaching peak power at significantly higher RPM then stock, like 7000 or more...? Do you have valve train upgrades as well to handle this ?
If you ever need a new block you can go with the NVH 02-05 Explorer 6 bolt aluminum block. They actually have thicker oil pan rails then a WAP or Teksid and I have seen people make more power on one and last longer. Not to mention there are plenty in scrap yards. I have a reman by Ford aluminum 2V in my 02 Explorer Limited (not sure what happened to the original engine) with super low miles I plan on forging and doing a similar single turbo setup for the street. Thanks for the cam info!
I enjoy the rundown..cant believe u got that mustang down in the mid 8's..i knew that mustang could b a good race car..my pop always busted my chops about it..hes a 70's nova guy.anyway great job this year with your car..best of luck in the future.
Given you do as much as possible yourself and drive is an awesome achievement. We don't get the 2V's here in Australia but you've really showcased this engine in a good light. I'm a little surprised you haven't been hounded by sponsorship offers. MHS????
Andrew Lavender you remember when I commented you might be sandbagging on the dyno? lol! I knew that car had more. You really have it put together well but more importantly, you know how to drive the hell out of her! You realize if you get the TF heads, re-sleeve the block, and beef up the I/C...you're going to have to step up the cage, not a doubt in my mind. Also, I think it would be cool if you kept running 1/4 mile, I know you talked about focusing on 1/8th mile. By the way, I know you don't run in any stock class, I think you're too modified to run super stock. Is it super street that you run in?
Matthew James it’s funny this car has never made big numbers on the dyno but runs pretty good ets. Yeah I will definitely need to upgrade the cage again which is why I’ll mainly stick to 1/8 mile until I get the funds to do that. I normally run the street car classes and radical street and maybe even mean street class this year.
Man awesome 2v! Gives me inspiration to get back into mine. I had converted mine to e85 but ran out of fuel...never got to finish my tune and see how it liked timing on E85. Would you mind sharing how much timing you are running? My stock shortblock TT 2v 04 made 640rwhp at 14.5psi back in the day on pump 93 and honestly your an inspiration to get back into it to really push the limits on e85. It will never run like yours but dang they sure are fun to drive. Thanks, Cody
You gonna add a boost scramble button? You can use it when you get a really good launch on the top end or if someone is running you down on the top end.
What rear gear do you run with? I have a 71 maverick that I'm building a 03 cobra 4.6 with twin 80s and how much was that Holley set up and where did you get it. Been looking around and I like your set up. Great work with the car you will be in the 7s soon. #7sec2vstreetcar
Which position on the upper control arms would you think is a good starting point for a street or no prep car? My setup seems like it's is very close to yours & I'm installing the outlaw kit now. The destructions say start with plate 1 in the middle position but I think that's more of a track setup.
john conner they aren’t that hard to get near that weight. I have an 01 GT aluminum 5.3 LS, s475 intercooled turbo, 10pt cage and two corbeau seats.. I’m at 3180 full weight with driver
