Ok. Yes. Absolute yes to this. Start with the ones on the bookshelf Cody! (If they’re real..) read and bike for?? Distract your knee pain with stories? Muah!
In one of your videos you said “and my immediate thought was I could never do that. And then my next thought was why do I think I could never do that?” This has changed everything for me. I’m running my first 5k in April! Not much, but I’ve never ran a mile until a couple weeks ago :) So thank you.
Yes!! I have only worked out a few times so far, but that quote was a game-changer! Why am I always selling myself short and telling myself what I can't accomplish? 💜
That was the same for me too. I have similar thinking patterns so that would be my first reaction as well. It was kind of eye opening and it’s stuck with me. I also appreciate that Cody doesn’t shy away from the fact that it sucks sometimes and you’re not going to always feel 100%, but you gotta do it anyways. That mindset completely changed how I’m living my life now!
Hey man just wanted to say thanks for the motivation. I started my journey literally the day before your first upload to this channel and this has been so motovating to me. I started out at 384lbs now I’m at 265lbs and I’m actually going to basic training for the army today. These videos really have helped me. Just wanted to say thanks
Hi, Cody!! A while ago I commented that your channel motivated me to stay healthy during pregnancy, and now I just want to give an update that I’ve since given birth to a healthy daughter and lost 25 lbs so far!! 10 to go until I’m back to pre-baby weight. Watching your channel and seeing everyone share their victories has continued to keep me motivated, so just wanted to say thank you for maintaining such a high-quality channel and viewership!! We ascend ↗️
Cody this channel slaps so hard. Seeing how hard youre able to go makes me feel like Im strong enough to advance in my self taught gymnastics journey. Love this shit man!!
Cody, I’m sure you probably already do this or have heard of doing this, but if you haven’t I recommend elevating your legs. Im a 28 y/o with knee problems and I run so this helps me A LOT. I usually lay down on the floor, legs elevated resting on the wall (your body doing an L) for 3-5 minutes everyday. This helps with circulation!
Their wedding rings when they ate dinner together 🥺 I was very unhealthy end of last year, but I have fitness goals I'm trying to reach by summer. I'm glad we are all motivated together! Choo choo 💪
i know this channel is about training and not necessarily about having a better relationship with feeding yourself but this channel has made me want to take much better care of my body; so thank you cody !
i know this is not what you mean but ive always thought this since his sweet tooth series, cody's love for food has helped me out so much mentally as well
Hey Cody! I have my first 5K next month and it all started from watching your videos. Thanks for the inspiration, keep up the great work! Energy is everything!
Started watching this channel around the start of my 75 hard challenge. Only have a few more weeks left! I’ve lost 20 pounds so far and started training for a 10k. This channel has helped me more than I could ever express properly.
Cody should get a professional bike fitting- I do triathlon and I recently did mine and they changed a lot of settings/sizes on the bike to optimize my performance and reduce pain/injuries
Cody if you are getting a new bike make sure you go get properly bike fited! A proper bike fiting will make a world of difference Also you should consider changing Cleat system from speedplay to something else. Lots of people complain about knee problems with speedplay pedals
It's actually kind of insane how similar our situations are. My best friend completed his first half Iron Man last year and is training for a 100 miler as well as a full Iron Man in a couple months. He inspired me to get into triathlons and it's crazy how as I followed my friends journey you were basically doing the same exact thing. I tell him all the time to watch your videos because you guys are having the same experiences. And to top it all off, my wife and I just got married in Turks and Caicos and honeymooned there as well (we probably unknowingly crossed paths as we were leaving and you guys were coming). Small world!
Cody should turn this channel in to a like a "self care/ becoming better" channel where he shows us what he's reading / eating/ doing / training etc etc to being better. he could also do videos of him trying things like meditation or journaling or stuff like that for a month or something like a challenge to see how it helps him. IDK just a thought I had after watching this vid.
You have inspired me to start running! I have been watching all the videos and I just love them and it makes me want to get healthier and stay motivated. I haven't ran in over 3 years so today I decided to start so thank you!! Cheers to day one!
Cody, I gotta say I love your enthusiasm to stay healthy, I’m working on it too! Joined the gym this year, and you’ve honestly been an inspo for it. So thank you and keep doing what you’re doing, we’re all really proud of you!! Also, I’ve been following you since Vine so love seeing the growth and the different stages of life you’ve gone through! Sending lots of love to you and Kelsey!! ♥️♥️♥️
That one extremly productive week you had was so fucking motivating. I hope for you .. and my sake that your streak of injuries stops soon. I am doing home workout and bouldering, always struggling with my wrist, so I feel you and I am getting seriously motivated. The channel is really fun
ran my first half marathon this past weekend. my mom and me watch your videos and she paced me on her bike. thanks for all the motivation! keep up all the hard work - can’t wait to see it pay off in your ironman!!
Really loving this channel! Been a big fan of yours forever and I used to swim and run a lot for a long time, Im loving the funny and relatable content
Running a 1/2 ironman in Utah on May 6th. I have been struggling with my training plan the last two weeks and it is really nice to see that i’m not alone in the struggle of a strict training plan. Keep it up Cody, and thanks for motivating me too keep pushing!
I can't run bc I have this chronic knee problem, but thanks to this channel it inspired me to start actively working out in other ways. I actually got like a coach to make me a gym routine so I have proper goals for the summer! AND Cody really inspired me to eat better too like this channel basically improved my quality of life about ten fold. Thank you!
Glad you're enjoying yourself, and respect for the hard work. It makes me feel like i can do more in my 30s when I'm not sick. You guys are a great couple too.
Hi Cody! Just wanted to thank you for the inspiration to join the healthy lifestyle club, last weekend I ran my first half marathon in 1h 29' 32"! Keep it going, we are all rooting for you (and your knee)! Choo-choo
Hey Cody, long time watcher first time commenter. Just wanted to say I also did diving in college and I would always say I was NOT an endurance athlete, but I started training for my first half iron man (galveston in april!!) right around when you started training for australia (completely coincidental, I didn't figure it out until months later), and this channel is very similar to the approach i've been taking - sometimes training sucks! sometimes it's fun! but overall as long as you're enjoying it, that's important
hey cody ive been loving the channel. I'd highly recommend going to a PT or sports medicine doc to get your knee checked out as well as get your form for running/biking checked out. I'm currently rehabbing a hamstring strain that was a result of improper running form, and PT/stretching has been amazing for me running without pain. Def a pain in the ass though with how long stretching takes me, but it works!
I just binge watched six of these videos in the past two days and it motivated me to do my 30 minute run today without any stopping for the first time💥💥💥
I saw some advice recently that said "these four words will get you out of bed in the morning... I'll feel awesome after" I live by that like it's in the bible now. I've been in a deep depression recently but I'm lifting myself out with motivation like that. Every time I watch a Cody Trains video I feel motivated and awesome and want to do better for myself. So if anyone doesn't feel like getting up, eating healthier or just doing something good for themselves etc... Just remember that it'll be hard now but you'll feel awesome after. Look forward to the future where your body feels better, you're maybe coming out of addiction, or just getting that runner's high. Keep going Cody you're not just doing good for yourself but for all of us. We love you dude
this channel has fully changed my perspective on running - I'm about to finish the couch to 5k program, hoping to run 5k (for the first time ever!!) this week. choo choo!!
wow im early Cody if you see this you've inspired me to push myself out of the rut I've been in for a couple years. Back to playing tennis, pickleball, going to the gym and even starting to try out running/biking!
Cody I’ve had janky knees my whole life but it has recently improved using Ben Patrick’s (Knees over toes guy) ATG program. Highly recommend! I don’t feel like I’ve been hit by a truck after long runs anymore
hey cody, i've been dealing with knee issues such as patella tendonitis the more serious im becoming with my footy and the biggest thing that helps me with it is taping across my patella and making sure my quad is stretched out a lot and rolled as much as I can.
Hey! So I’ve had chronic hip injuries for years - when training for a half marathon I had tons of flare ups. Something that worked for me was injections, as well as electro therapy at the PT. There was still some pain, but nothing near what it was without.
hey Cody! I have a weird heart so I always hated running because in PE I was always behind. I started running on my own with the couch to 5k and have been running for 2 weeks now! already seeing improvement :) thanks for the inspiration! we ascend together choo choo
“UGHHHH why does this happen??? Alright let me keep going and see how it feels.” Is literally the reason why he keeps getting injured lol, he’s just flat out ignoring his body screaming at him lol.
when u see the pt can u show us the exercises that they get u to do? ive got a knee issue caused by running so might be good to try what exercises they give u. thanks love the channel
Hey Cody I recently had a knee injury and while I rehabbed it for 2 weeks I ran on incline on the treadmill. Still did all the miles I wanted to do and didn't miss anything but the incline took the impact off my knee :) Also mixed in some grass running too and that helped. Might work for you too! A cool way to reduce impact but keep training.
I run college cross country and I recently learned from a specialist that knee problems typically come from tightness in the hip which can mess up your running form and maybe even your hip alignment which could cause other parts of your body to to over compensate while you are training. I have no idea if this is what you are experiencing but there's a chance
