Your explanation of the narcissists attempt to lie to themselves, not just to the world around them, but their need to create a narrative for them to believe in was spot on. Also, their attempt to convince themselves that the abuse is justified because they are the victim of evil intention, and all the lies they create in their mind…. So beautifully said. This was a terrific and accurate depiction of my narcissistic husband of 24 years. I really identify with everything you’ve said in this video.
This topic is so true. I've seen it's actions and impacts on my husband's narcissistic SIL. She's been working a job she hates for over 15 years, telling herself she's better than everyone (including her supervisor) and everyone she works with is just out to make her miserable. Therefore she's entitled to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants, including refusing group projects and training in new people. Her "flawless" thinking and actual poor work ethic did not get her the job promotion she'd been waiting 15 years for. This created a domino effect in her marriage, she more than likely had a narcissistic collapse, and then decided to have a baby (even though she's made it clear for years that she doesn't want kids). I shake my head every time my MIL mentions the newborn baby girl, whose role for life is to make her narcissistic mother happy because life didn't go the way she expected it to.
Very well said. I've watched tons of videos about narcissism and none of them have gone into the depth of how their mind works as to that they must believe their own lies. This is an important puzzle piece. I witnessed this in my mother when I finally lost my cool one time and wrote her a nasty email telling her what I really thought of her. I don't live near her but heard that she was flabbergasted that I could think such things about her. She wanted me to apologize or else be cut out of the will. This is before I had examined narcissism so I did want to apologize and did. After that she just wanted to pretend the event never happened. In retrospect that is so sad. This is the crux of why they can't change their ways.
True, it is almost impossible to change a narcissists mind even when you present a concrete fact. If a narcissist believes it's going to be good weather and you come in and say that you saw rain clouds well, then something is wrong with your eyes. That was hyperbole but not all that much!
The automobile driving...nailed it to a tee. They expect everyone else to stop at stop signs or stop so far out you have to wait for them to get the H out of the way, not blow red lights, drive on the shoulder around a jam & park in the fire lane, worse than that to ask you to. And then as you said, claim you hate them because....da dat da dah..you know their going to get hurt or hurt someone. Your concern is unlogical to their universe of one. They don't care. They really don't. And why with the affluent is it almost always a German sedan with Gucci girl or guy driving ?
That's nuts, she said that so many times, I would ask her, why are you so mean, why do you constantly treat me like crap and seem to be THIS ok with it? Not only ok with it but, genuinely don't understand why I'm not? Every single time, it's exactly what you said in this video. "Because you deserve it." Said it with the utmost confidence and, when I would ask WHY I deserved this and that NO ONE deserves this from someone who supposedly "loves" them, I was labeled as "stupid" because I should already know because it's obvious. If it's so obvious, why can't you say? Enlighten me then, from your vast wealth of knowledge. Would you believe, to this day, she still never has and yet still doesn't just leave me alone. Some creative people like to break rules. That doesn't make them narcissists nor does it mean they have criminal proclivities. Also, when a traumatized person tries to explain HAVING BEEN narcissisticly abused to someone else who has no understanding of what it is, or how damaging it is, and they say things to you like buck up and pull yourself up by your bootstraps or take responsibility for your life, then you are being abused BY a narcissist calling YOU "the problem/narcissist". I didn't ask to be a predatory gang stalking target, and my admitting this does NOT make me crazy, a narcissist, or anything else but a VICTIM of narcissism and narcissistic abuse. MY life was the one upended FOR YEARS AND YEARS, AND THEY STILL SCREW WITH ME THRU THEIR MONITORING FLYING MONKEYS. Random… I kinda think it’s possible to catch a cold from being cold. I think it’s possible the coldness could put stress on the body upping the inflammation response. The same way I think stress can induce other diseases.
To be fair. One of the things that make you susceptible to catching a cold if exposed to a virus is low body temperature. There are other factors,of course. Like a weak immune system. But being cold is one of the factors that may make one susceptible to being affected by viruses if exposed. That is why people tend to get cold when the weather is cold. Or when exposed to heat followed by a cold draft.
Lots of things compromise your immune system. You wouldn’t say “Don’t get stressed out or you’ll catch a cold!” There’s a seed of truth to it, but that isn’t what causes a cold.
My ex told me , on Hoover, that she didn’t think I loved her that contributed to our break up years ago . When I showed her the diary I had written back then , thinking that she would show some interest in knowing how wrong she was in concluding that . To my surprise she showed no interest in reading those pages . At the time I was somewhat confused from her total disinterest in seeing something I wanted to share with her , now I think I know , she didn’t want to be proven wrong by reading that would have been a proof that I had loved her deeply and that’s why for years I did not date anyone as I was devastated by that break up . On Hoover , second fatal mistake , she caused me a serious injury and started to treat me with disgust instead of any empathy after seeing what the injury caused me , I told her that I feel like she has no compassion for me when she talks about things that have become so irrelevant to me while trying to cope with the medical issues , instead of adjusting her interactions , she preferred to stop talking , and for last two years I have been dealing with one medical appointment after another due to the internal injury I suffered , that she non-chalantly dismissed as an “accident”. The way that injury occurred would not have happened if she had any ounce of concern about causing an injury , and what happened afterwards would not have happened if she actually had any genuine concern or empathy . Anyone who is just emotionally traumatized by these characters , please leave before they cause a physical injury and then discard you like you meant nothing to them ! The combination of physical and emotional trauma can create a cascade of complications that can literally make you wonder how long you and your body can cope with the chronic stress , while this character most likely is trapping other unsuspecting victims !
Some times am tempted to tex her daughter to compliment her on her exams but then again she took control of her phone N the daughter know she also done me wrong caught her the lies in support of the mother So i said to myself This is hopeless no contact for every one
@@LookingBehindtheMirror well yes there defending the persona/image they have created therefore therefore would slip into cognitive dissonance which they could not handle , therefore double down on the control aspect as being open to the feeling of vulnerability wiuld trigger them to the situation that lead them to become a narcissist in the 1st place , also i was having a little fun with the title , in my head a cartoon were one person was shouting at a Narcissist "what Narcissists need to believe " which would be Narcissistic shouting at another telling them what to do , would it not :) ps well done for making the video , your doing something , i am trying to figure out what to do still :) here is one for you , is narcissism a form of linear thinking , also i wonder sometimes what happened to narcissist for them to be that way
