You know you've listened to too much Northlane when the song doesn't sound weird to you and it hits on the first listen 🔥 Def my favorite release of Obsidian so far
Interesting thing about Northlane is (at least for me): Sometimes you don't understand exactly what they are trying to do, because it's complex, it's confusing, it's alien-like, but once you understand this complexity, it's like a new dimension in space-time opening in your head! This is the band which i admire the most in terms of art.
@@moderatefilms6972 Yes! I think they're not the type of band which make a lot of ''intentional catchy songs'' thinking about trends, or hype, or profit, as others artists. I admire them, because they have balls to put all the effort into something they trust is what they believe, something unique and complex, with so much identity! True Artists!
"Obsidian" is going to be interesting at the very least, even if I didn't appreciated "Clockwork" I have to admit that all the singles have been really good.
It's a fucking banger, so much depth. Definitely agree it's Alien pushed further and I'm loving all the singles so far, they said they would really go further into the electronic elements and it fits perfectly, they know how to blend everything and create that Northlane vibe, and Marcus is killing it, hopefully he has more of those nu metal vocal sections!
I dunno man, the verses are kinda weird with the rap flow, and the vocals are a little too present in the mix. Chorus is solid though. Overall this is okay I guess. I loved Alien but not feeling the singles so far...
Is there any chance you could react to Dimphonic's new album "Horriplex" when it comes out on the 9th of May? I'm excited for it and think it might be a breath of fresh air for you
Not a big fan. All these singles sound like Alien but not as good. Sounds like they should be B-side tracks off Alien. This was the heaviest of the singles yet it was my least favorite which never happens.
I do agree with you on the other tracks , i think they felt very empty and pointlessly repetitive and poppy, but this one imo does actually grow on you a lot with some more listens , i found it to be the only single that doesn't have too much pointless repetition
To make something new and original you gotta do some weird things, doesnt always pays off but id say its worth it. It creates albums like alien, and by god do i want more albums like alien xD
All These songs have that metal edge .....that thick guitar and drum work that make it epic to metal lovers....this is why I'm excited as hell about their new record...alien Nd mesmer wasn't my kind of thing...I always preferred their Hometown opponents like Alpha Wolf or Polaris... But I'm really keen to see what these guys have been cooking for us in obsidian..
Never really been much of a Northlane fan at all outside of the track Quantum Flux over the last like 5 or whatever years, but so far every single for this album since Clockwork is a banger. Excited!
Weird its the opposite from me. I loved everything up until these singles. Found them extremely underwhelming, the singles sound the same as Alien but not as good to me.
Man, you have to check out a new Belmont's album. It's a mix of pop-punk with core drumming and shreddy guitar. I think people have been sleeping on them.
