I love the running gag of them saying exposition after a cut by going “so you’re saying X?” and the other character is just like…”yes that is word for word what I just said, why did you repeat it”

"How is he not famous?" Yeah, that's one of the weirdest things about Z. In the original series, everyone was fully aware of Master Roshi and his teachings. They knew full well ki blasts and the like existed, Demon King Piccolo was a well-known threat, and Goku was a really popular fighter. Then Z comes along and suddenly the whole world forgot about all of that. I've read a theory it's because most of the people alive during that time are dead, but it's pretty clear not that many years have passed.

My all time favorite scene with Broly was the “Princess Trunks” moment. What makes it better for me is when I watched Season 5 of RWBY when they fought Hazel and when he screams Ozpin, I had a crazy moment Imagining Hazel calls out “Princess Jaune!” and ends with Jaune looking frightened and yells out “Ruby get me out of here right now I’m serious, use your semblance-!” (Bam).

In the series, Vegeta says the original legendary super saiyan was destroyed by his own power. Goku punches Broly where he was stabbed as a baby, so it was kind of like a weak spot. Broly pops like an energy filled balloon because the legendary super saiyan has too much power to control it. Fans still debate this since it's not all spelled out neatly in canon.

Something I think deserves saying regarding to Broly losing it because Goku cried a lot: it’s often forgotten that Z Broly was kinda already a psychopath even for a Saiyan. As battle-hungry and otherwise as normal Saiyans could be, Broly was cranked to 11, so much so that when Paragus wasn’t looking he’d go blow up planets just for kicks; Paragus had to use a device (that headband Broly wears that falls to his collar after he goes Legendary) to mindwash his son to be so passive and timid so he wouldn’t go off the handle. Unfortunately, encountering Goku again broke all those walls down and the rest is history. As much as it’s joked about, the memory of Goku crying was more of a gateway to the flood of memories of nearly being killed and the deranged psychosis he had before we see him fight. DBS Broly is a little different, still has the overwhelming power but has more of a sympathetic backstory and isn’t so crazed as his DBZ counterpart.

If she had a hard time dealing with this version, she'll need to go to church after seeing the ssj9k version of this movie😁

The divorce/marriage food jokes happen twice. Here Goku thinks divorce is a food. In the official show Goku thought marriage was food when she asked to go get married so he agreed. The first time in dbz a is when Gero did a huge blast to escape and distract, it also brought down the ship Bulma, Yajirobe, and baby Trunks were in (before they knew he was their kid.) Future Trunks asks Vegeta why he didn't try to protect his wife and son. Vegeta: "my _what_ and my son?" Trunks: "wait.. you mean you two never got married?" Vegeta: "what is that? Some kind of food?" Trunk: "no, just listen. when two people love each othe-" Vegeta: "oh wow I'm just fucking with you. My god, who doesn't know what marriage is? Also 'love each other'? Making A LOT of assumptions here." Trunks angrily growls in frustration

I'm glad I bought and watched the Broly Trilogy before this came out. Yeah, in the original, the knife didn't break against infant Broly, infant Broly broke from the knife... I was not expecting the movie to be that dark when I watched it.
