Taxis aren't run by mafia, no.. at least not in the real sense of that word :). Some of them operate illegally (you can recognize legal ones with ...-TX plates), and quite a bit of the legal ones like to charge people more than what they should, especially if you're foreigner. Wouldn't say this is an issue in Serbia only but it is a bigger problem than in other places, unfortunately the government isn't doing much about it. If you plan to use taxi watch the plates, use well known taxi firms and avoid taking a taxi that is parked just in front of the busy club/restaurant and those that come up to you and offer rides at the airport. Best option, use apps like CarGo.

Hi bro... For most thing you are spot on... except some small mistakes (i.e. brothers muslim, orthodox, catholics) have lived here together for at least 1000+ years since they are from same origin just different faiths that they accepted in some point in time. Language is same, beliefs, genetics, temperament (all are equally pigheaded in their national populism ideologies that can always be tracked to external political influences and are source of extreme brutality thruout 20 century between brothers)... Also taxi is not run by mafia but are sometimes plain bums and nothing more.

Serbia has been on my def must go to destinations. I was going to go in '19 right when Covid hit and I was forced to cancel the trip. They are under a level 4 status as far as not safe to travel to due to covid. But I am patient and know all good things are worth waiting for. I hope you keep posting videos like this!

12:16 It is not complicated. Kosovo AND METOHIJA is spiritual soul of Serbs. It is the place of old Imperial Serbia. The place of our glory. The place of our identity. The place we stopped Ottomans not breach into Europe. There are so much Serbian history. There are so many Serbian old Orthodox churches. Serbian old cemeteries. There are no such albanian things. The oldest albanian building is 20 years old. Their cemeteries are old 200 years, max. Mosques are not albanian, Ottomans built them. And there is no mosque older than some 500 years. Pećka Patrijaršija is older than the Ottoman empire itself. There are so many Serbian churches older than Notre Damm. And then, the americans came with bombs and planes. The rest is history. When the fog is gone, the whole nato top people get mines, factories, etc. Very interesting. When Turks came here, they said, NO MORE SERBS HERE. We are here. Do the americans really think Kosovo and Metohija will stay outside the Serbian state forever?

The official name of the state was changed to Kingdom of Yugoslavia on 3 October 1929. In 1946, communist government was established,. Partisan leader Josip Broz Tito ruled the country as president until his death in 1980. In 1963, the country was renamed again, as the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY).

I enjoyed the Tito Mausoleum and the Yugoslavia Museum. They had a fascinating exhibit on Yugoslavians who worked in Austria as gastarbeiters or guest workers. It’s close to US Embassy where I spent a morning getting a new passport. It’s set up for J1 interviews (Serbs are essential to keep resort towns like Jersey Shore running) but due to Covid back in December 2020 was so empty,

There are no Serbian dialects. There are some silly attempts to create different languages by using synonyms, different suffixes, translating borrowed foreign words (like in Croatian) to prove that it is a different language, but that doesn't really work. It's more like this: Imagine that in America are spoken: Oklahoman, Texan, Virginian, Californian, Oregonian, Minnesotan, etc. See where it is going? It's a political thing. All those ethnic destruction was just a coverup for criminals who really rule these countries. You better believe it.
