Levi Kitchen and Gypsy debates on how fast the sport of motocross has become over the last decade.
We are back for another episode of the podcast and my guest today is none other than Levi Kitchen. Levi is currently in the middle of his breakout season as a professional Motocross and Supercross rider. He narrowly missed out on this years 250 West Coast title in a decided at Salt Lake and is now in the thick of the AMA Motocross Championship against longtime rival Haiden Deegan.
On this episode of the podcast we talk about his love of all things fishing, his unique upbringing by typical motocross standards, his life in Washington, taking racing seriously, his early years at Star Yamaha, leaving for Pro Circuit Kawasaki, we talk about money in the sport and his golf swing.
Levi is an extremely cool guy to hang out with and I really wanted to spend a few hours. I think that really comes across in this conversation.

Seems like the thumbnail and the timing of this video was strategic.

Sounds to me like Levi knows he doesn't have the balls that Deegan does. But he's also right on the fact that the second deegs backs off to 90% is when he stuffs the front or slides out then is forced to ride at 110%

I love that he mentioned Eli and haiden being similar cause they are, I always laugh when people say haiden can’t ride a 450 lol his clutch and bike smoking at the wick had me dying cause it’s just like tomac. I really like Levi and hate the hate he’s kinda getting in the comments. I also don’t think haiden will hang it out as much on a 450 because he won’t really have to and he will understand the limit like he has on most bikes. He’s never really taken a hard fall and has always rode on the edge which says he knows where the edge is. He’s also strong ass kid only getting stronger . He pulled that scrub at the wick back on pure strength, most would have flew off the back the bike and never pulled that thing back under them.

The tracks are designed to be faster nowadays. They were once designed to be challenging, and scary. You have to respect just how fast & brave those dudes were to do it on those older bikes Riders whine about their bikes a lot more these days despite the bikes being so much easier to ride fast

Maybe Kitchen should try that 100% thing and just maybe he would’ve won a SX title 😂. Or maybe he wouldn’t be finishing 4th or worse outdoors. Sometimes you just have to put in that little bit extra and you’ll get better results. But hey if you’re ok with where you are finishing and collecting checks then so be it. Some guys are just so talented they don’t need that 100% but it’s there in case they do need it. Then there are riders that can give it there all but are more comfortable not doing it.

Grip it and rip it brother! That seems to be Deegans theory and it'll either take him to the next level or get him hurt, but it seems to be getting him to the next level. Checkers or wreckers as they say!

Odds say Deegan has a big get-off coming.

Levi wants the track to slow down yes, he’s a technical rider, but also he can’t hang it out like Deegs can. Mainly the reason he’s more than 60 points back in MX.

Levi's style might hang in SX, but MX is too wtfo.
@MrIke303
@MrIke303 7 дней назад
@@underthetrees4780 agreed. After this outdoor season and how much Deegan has learned from winning the way he has, I can almost guarantee he’s going to dominate 2025 SX. Coming into SX this year, Deegan had that broken wrist and really didn’t have any experience maintaining a title race and/or winning consistently. Now he does. And if he races Tom in SX again, he knows he can smoke him.

@MrIke303 and deegan got messed up at Detroit. Bad start and the bars were bent bad. Without that he would have one

he literally hung with him at rd1 and ran his pace both motos for 30+2 when deegan was pushing his ass off😭this doesn’t even make sense
@MrIke303
@MrIke303 День назад
@@kaneki9172 You’re talking about the first round? How many have they raced so far? How many times has Deegan completely gapped him? Also, Deegan was in management mode second moto at Pala. I’m a big fan of Levi, but his fitness isn’t there. If he isn’t top 5 off the start at minimum, he can’t move up in the pack. He only wins when he is first or second the first few laps. For outdoors, you have to be willing to send it sometimes and be uncomfortable. Clearly, he’s not at that point yet, but he definitely could be.

Deeg’s can hang it out and manage the race. He’s done that many times this season. I just don’t think Levi is on his level yet. He needs a lot more cardio work for sure.

Deegs is comfortable riding on the edge. It's just his style. He has been doing it most of his life

Needs to slow down ? 🦬💩 motocross is all about going balls to the wall and always has been! That needs to slow down mentality is what was also partly responsible for killing the BIG BORE 500CC TWO STROKES along with the freaking 🤥EPA
