It's a close contest between him and the preceptor who gives you the roofie potion. 2nd time through I gave the potion to dung eater, 2 birds with one stone. Old man doll sex pest gets a dung eater instead of a noble warrior and then gets throat slit by Ranni, and Dung Eater forever becomes my thrall such that he can't do .. whatever he does to the corpses of his victims. Two of the most messed up characters from has ever devised.

The easiest way to get to this organ is to rip it out. Dung eater is doing the same thing. Hence why you find corpses with bloody laps that have his seedbed curse on it. Alot more lore tied to this I don't feel like explaining

Miyazaki says he intentionally leaves details out, to mimic his own experience of reading English fantasy novels as a child, and only being able to understand portions of the story. His goal is to stimulate the player's imagination, and let them come to their own conclusions. There IS an answer written somewhere, we just never get to know it.

He was caught kidnapping, murdering and eating children in the sewers under the commoner’s quarter of Lyndell. Based on his location in the sewers, my theory is that he was first observed from a distance (by curious urban explorers) eating something soft from a pile of rotten waste (without realizing they were corpses,) so they first assumed he was eating shit until the missing children were investigated further.

He doesnt actually eat children, per se, but he spread his curse by "defiling corpses." His armor describes him as "The heart of an Omen without the body to match; could there be a crueler existence?" Taking a look at the chest piece armor could also give us insight into who he once was: a warrior of light kind of like Solaire was in the Dark Souls games. Eventually he was cursed by Queen Marika, I don't know why. Noticing how his horns are broken off, we can make the assumption that he resented being an ill-omen creature being that he would be hunted down and treated like a monster, and broke them off himself. After reading the mending rune that he leaves us at the end of his quest we can see that he wants the world to suffer the same fate he himself did, likely out of spite to queen Marika.

I don't think it's the exact same person but I think dung eater is the spiritual successor to both Yurt/Lautrec and Solaire kind of combined into one character, dung eater has a zealous and religious like goal that he seeks almost compulsively alot like solaire however his goal is too kill and defile every living thing just like Yurt.

I mean, the whole festival being a celebration of war reminds me of what the judge says about war being this ancient god that preceded man. It’s cool to see themes of such a dark book being represented in modern rpgs. The game is just so artistic and cool.

I think the guy's character is hilarious, calling him dung eater is funny to me lol. The fact that he screams in battle had me in histerics. Then again, I dont get disturbed very often, but this guy felt like a far cry from what I'd call disturbing, more comic relief dark souls style

The Dung Eater tortures his victims to death, which causes them to come back cursed. Not quite Thanos levels of villainy, but he's quite the monster.
