My belief dear friend is that only by the truth of the gospel and a persons response of faith to that truth is the only way that anyone can be born again and become a child of God. Since there is many wrong teachings in the different churches, we find the greatest problem in the churches today, that many "christians" are not genuinely born again. Therefore not all are the children of God. Because there is only One True way to be born again, and the churches have lost this Way due to the many false teachings they have accepted over the years. Yes we must Love others, and so sharing the Truth so that we may save the Lost is the responsibility of those who know it.

We cannot earn our way to heaven, it's not possible, we all fall short of the glory of God. I believe you would agree with that. Then why are we all so concerned with what we are doing at our church buildings. The Lord has simplified it to the point that even I can figure it out, thank GOD. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and BAM, your in! Don't belong to a denomination with rules and rituals, it don't work that way. It's almost to easy! The only way to "get right with GOD" is to accept Jesus. I say these things politely and with LOVE bro! I don't mind being corrected so thats cool too.

Saying all you need to do is "accept Jesus" to be saved is like saying all you have to do to stay alive is "think about food." No... you have to prepare food, serve it, eat it, and do that all over again every day, and you have to drink water, and you have to sleep, and you have to exercise, etc, etc... There is SO much more than "accept... BAM." It's really bothersome when people like yourself think that Jesus didn't establish a Church, and that all we need to do is read the Bible for ourselves and say some magic words, and "BAM" we're in. A Church has rules, it has actions, it has authority, it has Traditions, and it has meaning, all of which Jesus meant for us to be a part. You can't make assumptions about this Church, and then say, "don't join it, you don't need it." That's 100% FALSE and CONTRADICTORY to what Jesus and the Apostles taught and did. Your primary assumption here is in saying, "we cannot earn our way into heaven." Nobody in the Catholic Church believes we can. That's a VERY common misconception of what "works" means, and it's VERY annoying that people like yourself don't actually look into it to understand for themselves. You'd think that people would be curious enough to understand what the OLDEST (and original) Christian Church actually believes, rather than making an assumption. So, after this diatribe, I'm sure you're sick of reading, but I strongly, STRONGLY suggest you look into what you're saying and actually go beyond 2-3 Bible verses. you are right sir! cultural religion will continue to blind people, from the Bible belt to the Middle East. yet, many of them do not truly believe even though they perform their weekly rituals. Same as atheists or the unchurched, they all need the light of the gospel to be saved, even if they grew up in a church in the Bible belt.

yes I agree! you're a sister in Christ, and I'll see you in heaven. And although some people say that denominations divide, it's actually a good way for Christians to worship together without arguing over the same issues like baptism or tongues again and again. I love my Arminian and Charismatic brothers, but I'm not going to keep arguing about the same issues unless someone says something blatantly against Biblical teachings.

We both know there's no perfect church, although there are many false ones. However, I think there are pros and cons to each denomination. And the Reformed are much stronger in theology. So because they know they're usually right (theologically), they tend to be very arrogant. God opposes the proud.

We were a small rural church and it's hard to find ministers but we found an excellent guy who graduated from an independent reformed seminary that one minister in classis didn't like. He hounded the candidate and wouldn't let him be ordained even though he was a sound man. Even the other RCUS ministers said so, but that one guy literally ran our man out of the pulpit so I left. And this wasn't the only time stuff like this happened. I heard from others that it was common practice, cut the new guys down to make them humble.

He mentioned there are different 'versions' of presbyterians. The 'no male elders' was one example. The 'we ordain homosexuals' was another. Pretty sure that leaves plenty of room for 'we have female elders' in between.

Najera the core doctrine of any religion is part of what defines and identifies that religion, so yes we can say that mormons/JWs aren't Christians if their core doctrine doesn't line up with Christianity. In fact, it's the main reason why they aren't Christians. what you are suggesting is that even though mormons/JWs believe some things that deny the fundamental doctrine of Christianity, they can still be called Christians just because they have some other beliefs in common with Christianity. If that's true, we might as well say that red is green because they're both colors and up is down because they're both directions.

Mets Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christian as they do not believe that Jesus is God. You even corrupt your biblical translation to try to avoid the obvious. You may be very nice people but you would have been cast out of the early Church with the rest of the Arians as heretics.

The difinition of a Christian is somebody who believes Jesus is our lord and savior, and who lives their life by the principles and teachings of Christ. Mest Jesus claimed to be God but you ignore or discount his claims. How could Jesus have been our savior if he is not God. We needed someone who could satisfy an offense against an infinite God and no one who is not divine is infinite and could handle that mission. God does. God provided us salvation through faith in Christ. (Galatians 3: 24, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:28 and so on...) God provided us the scriptures to make one wise unto salvation. (2Timothy 3:15, Romans 1:16 and so on...) God preserved the scriptures. (Psalm 12:6-7, Matthew 24:35 and so on...) If you have any other gospel than faith in Christ, the son of God, who died on the cross for you sins, was buried for 3 days and rose (bodily) again the third day, then your not saved! 1 Corinthians 15 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: You know if you are right if you are using the Bible as the foundation for all matters of faith and practice. While the Jewish faith is older its purpose was to bring the Messiah into the world. Their responsibility is over according to Christians who believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. That basic belief is in common with other Christian denominations. Brathen Anderson The problem is Mormons say they believe in Jesus but it's a completely different Jesus. The same way Muslims also say they believe in Jesus but it's not the same Jesus either. A false Jesus cannot save you. Mormons believe Jesus was created by God, and is the brother of Satan as well as them. They deny that Jesus is God and deny the trinity, that the father, son and holy spirit are all God, and yet individual at the same time. 3 in 1. They also reject many other basic biblical principles that the main body of Christ (shown in this video ) all agree on.
