Just a thought, maybe a projector or large tv screen for the people on the live shows which showing what’s on the laptop for rate my ride section? Helpful for some of the more obscure cars for the live audience.
The grandson with his grandfather’s car 🚙!!! The car is way older than the man driving it. That’s so incredibly wonderful!! 💙💪🏻. All the way from the Netherlands to go to the meeting.. bringing biscuits. That’s class..🤩😜
@@JF-ns5zs if you plan a family with it yes, but if you are single or just a couple, practicality is quite enough i'd say. boot space is more or less the same in both cars and as for the backseats, you can still fit a friend in there. The Coupé ist actually even longer than the Sedan :D
Big screen and video playback of some car reviews for live audience please! With your chemistry, I can see it becoming a great show like classic Top Gear!
S500 Coupe for a one car does it all. Amazingly comfortable, really quick, surprisingly efficient for a turbo V8, technologically above all, and in my opinion, one of the greatest Mercedes designs of all time. Absolute future classic
Love it! Id like to throw 3 suggestions in there as well... 1st: Alfa Romeo Giulia QV... for obvious reasons 2nd: Alpina B3 Touring: super practical and a bit more comfy while still being an M3 on the paper 3rd: The all new Civic Type R... super fun, practical and budget-friendly! I couldnt have a very big car in my 1 car garage because how would you park it in big cities?
"I had a guilia and it broke" Right.. as have Land Rovers, BMWs, Audis, Porsches, Mercs, Fords etc. This bullshit about Alfa's poor reliability is a myth from the past. My Guilia has never had a mechanical fault in my ownership and costs remarkably little to keep going. If you look in the owners groups etc, youll see that they break no more often than any other car in class!
My ultimate one car garage would be the BMW M140I Xdrive, you get the last 6 cylinder 1 serie, a discreet and do everything / go everywhere car (cause it's compact, smaller than the M5 which could struggle in some situation) while still having a car that's fun to drive according to what I heard about it
That chat about the GT3 reminds me of someone I know who had several 911 S and then bought the GT3 which he liked but his wife found uncomfortable so it had to go
Looking for a 1 car to do it all. At the moment RS4 and Macan GTS seem to be the only possibilities in reasonable price and size. Need two seats, practical boot and a towhook.
Yes! I used to have an old banger of a Renault 25, which was a lovely commuting car. It's a real shame we don't get the big saloons like the Renault Laguna. Latitude & Talisman any more. I don't think the DS9 will sell well as the rebranding was a bit of a fail.
Ultimate daily: Polestar 2 Dual Motors. AWD, 476ps, low running costs, holds value great, comfortable, enough room for a smaller family, great and small around town, great on longer journeys. And if you want it to be a bit more exciting you just opt for the performance package so you get the öhlins dampers and sportier tires.
@@miklas.k though i wonder if an S63 would not a bit defeat the purpose of an s class in general, meaning with an s class you love the luxury aspect of it and how it glides in almost complete silence (at least i do), so having an S-something might be a bit too much - but thats just me.
@@miklas.k I find that 455 hp is more than enough. I don't want a stiffer ride for the benefit of some top-end horsepower that rarely get used. So many people have AMG cars and barely use the top 150 of their horses anyway. Mine's spec'd above the price of the average S63 and I wouldn't want it any other way :-)
For me personally, the ultimate one car garage if you're single or are a couple without kids: 911 Turbo S. WIth kids: Panamera sport turismo or E63s estate.
one car for everything not mentioned is the new Bentley continental GT Speed. Funny how no one mentioned it but a derivative was pictured on the avatar for this podcast
A topic I'd love for you guys to cover would be if you had to stick to only ONE car brand that covers all aspects of your life from (passing your test, having the privilege of having a daily and a weekend toy, to a family car etc) what brand would you choose and why? It has to be a brand, not a group like Volkswagen AG, Stellantis, GM etc.
I'll preface by stating that it's obviously your garage your choice, so fair play. But you went from the previous X3 & the F-Type loaner > RS6, which although is not the most emotive of cars (and I guess herein lies the problem) is pretty much a top contender for a 1-car garage. But to replace that with, yet again an X3 and a V8 F-Type (same generation too, albeit facelift) just seems like going backwards (in my opinion) and counter-intuitive. Excited for the GT3, and the green wrap looks good though, would look great with bronze wheels!
As someone with three kids and a dog. It would have to be the m340i touring (cheaper than an m3 and not gonna miss the extra performance on the road) but….1 car garage?!? No thanks! I’d have to at least have a little 2 seater convertible as well for a bit of fun
50:45, "..that's why you buy an M car, for the carbon roof." Lmao, that comment was insane enough that I bet even he was wondering why the hell he said that. Maybe he was nervous and tried to deliver it sarcastically, then wound up sounding more serious than he wanted. Either way, bet he cringed at himself over it.
its a great car but i reckon one can't daily it and its insanely impractical. when i think of a one car garage i try to tick the boxes: somewhat practical, somewhat comfortable, quick and sporty enough.
@@th3orist Yeh it's not for everyone just my personal preference. Otherwise to tick all those other boxes you'd have to start looking a 4door super saloons/estates which I'm not a big fan of.
@@larssonk22 in general i would not say no either but i do love to fly a bit more under the radar and the s class coupe might just do that for me haha, in relative terms speaking that is. bentleys are a dream to drive as far as luxury goes, had a couple times the pleasure and omg, i really get it what people mean.
Stop! Please do not compare the completely tasteless vulgar plastic bags with a random bmw chassis underneath called Wiesmann with the wonderfully handcrafted Morgans. Yes, they both represented a retro design before everyone else was jumping on that train. But but only one was and still is doing it right with an own heritage. Sam has to drive an +8 some day.
That new jag is not better... its crap sounding.. the whole point of the ftype was its roar.. otherwise just have a Porsche. It doesnt look better either.. it looks like my Grandad spec'd it....
