This game bought me into the sonic franchise. It felt nice to play and I played multiplayer with my friends every Saturday on this. TO this day this is my favorite sonic game hands down.

7:06 ... or the medium way, or the semi medium easy hard way, or the sort of hard with a touch of awkward easy difficult challenging way. I kinda liked unleashed and colors about the same. I did love the humor in Sonic Colors though, but I also loved the way the story went and how the characters interacted in Unleashed. I guess either style is nice to be.

I actually liked the modern feel of Sonic Colors and this is coming from someone who grew up on the Adventure series and watched Sonic X. I was never a fan of the 4kids style dialogue (probably because I always hated 4kids) so I feel like this is a nice change of pace. However, I can understand why someone would miss what they grew up on.

Anyone else notice how, between this video and Wuw: My Magic Dog, Peter changed into his more modern, higher quality feel? (At least in the WuW series) The microphone and camera quality seem much better on the My Magic Dog video.

I grew up around sonic colors and I did click on this video so I actually like sonic colors and I love the song Reach For The Stars,but I respect your opinion and have to give you props for pointing out the flaws that not even I saw!So thank you for actually making me realize that!Love your vids!

I liked how in Unleashed they made animated shorts showing the brother like relationship between Sonic and Chip, high quality animation and overall care. Colors and onward the animation seems more stiff and not as much interaction between the characters as there should be, especially in Generations.

I think people like colors' because of it's fun and simplicity. it goes back to the simpler days of the genesis Era in terms of plot, which is "eggman is doing evil things, go stop him." while I personally like the unleashed presentation of story over colors' presentation, I will say I like the new voice cast more. sonic's more "modern" attitude to me still feels like Sonic, and yes sonic is a teen (he's officially 15 actually). he doesn't find complicated things so appealing, and loves to make fun of eggman.

Personally, I actually do like the modernized dialogue in the new games from Colors onwards. The jokes can be a little hit or miss, but I love the voice acting and the way they talk in general.

That's why I want both Modern Sonic and Sonic Boom to coexist. So classic Sonic can have good storylines, and Sonic Boom can have the lighthearted approach. I hope sega will figure that out.

im surprised that Nintendo never modernized any of their games

I actually don't have a preference because I like it all. Since I can never beat gameplay, story is most important and I really enjoy the so-called old cheesiness, the seriousness, and even the current kidsy stuff. I'm just open to it all.

I like both Colors and Unleashed(I know I'm a year late)

I actually love the writing. I don't know why, it's just pretty enjoyable.

Sonic colors on the DS is actually my favorite of the two (compared to the Wii version) since its in the style of the old Genesis games but with a few modern touches like the wisps, but keeps the old pixel like style. It's a shame nobody talks about it

Can you make What's up with Sonic Rush?

Sonic Unleashed is hands down one of the best Sonic games out there. Over the past year I've grown to love it, werehog and all. I almost feel totally fine calling it Adventure 3, since it's basically just that. You got the multiple gameplay styles, the hub worlds, the world ending story, loads of cutscenes. And the cherry on top is just how gorgeous the game looks. It's honestly the best the series has ever looked, even now with Forces and the new generation of the Hedgehog Engine at it's core. Unleashed was ahead of it's time, visually. No matter what version of the game you play (out of the full HD versions), the game still has framerate issues when certain things get close to the camera, particularly objects with crazy shader effects like the werehog fur. The game performs well in general, these performance hickups are typically only when things get really messy on screen. I'm surprised we don't have a fancy new port of the game for Xbox One and PS4, since I think it'd be easy to get the game running at a full 1080p 60fps on the new hardware. With Sonic Team moving on to the Hedgehog Engine 2, I'm pretty sure the days of seeing ports of anything between Unleashed and Lost World are over, since all those games ran on the old engine. I can't imagine Sonic Team are game to waste time with the old engine when they just spent 2 years making a new one. It was fun while it lasted, and I hope Sonic Team come up with something actually good for the next game. After Forces, I'm sure Sonic Team must be able to see what we're asking for here. Surely... for the love of got I hope they get it by now...

I personally prefer the older style. They should make Sonic Adventure 3 to bring back this serious but still cheerful feeling. (I wouldnt mind a SA2 remake either ^o^)

I don't mind the laid back writing. Sonic's seen it all, this is a daily thing for him. He knows he's going to win, so he tries to have fun along the way.

This is a great summary of SC. I definitely agree, even though gameplay always comes first, the reason I love Sonic is bc, like you, I like the characters and the lore. I also prefer the Unleashed style, and it seems like a lot of others do as well. For the future of 3D Sonic games I'd like to see something along the lines of Unleashed, SA1, and SA2 gameplay styles, story, and level design, hub worlds, multiple playable characters, and chao gardens.

OK, I don't mean to sound too peeved, but..... Sonic Colours was my first ever Sonic Game and it got me seriously hooked. Colours is a great game to start someone in the Sonic franchise. The designs are great, the gameplay is absolutely topnotch and I was quoting the cutscences every day. My favourite cutscence was number ten and seventeen because ten had suspense because of Tails being mind controlled and seventeen was literally Tails making fun of Sonic. I loved this game and still do as my absolute fave in the who!e franchise, so.. This vid wasn't too go for me.. Soz Peter.

I think you should do an everything wrong with Sonic rivals and it's Sequel. It's got some interesting dialogue and has metal sonic be a protagonist for the first time. Plus Silver gets character development.

I do really like the modern Sonic.I've always seen him as a cool guy with a ginormous ego and that's exactly what he is in Sonic Colors.

I honestly like both gameplay and storytelling styles, and I believe if Sega finds the right formula, they can blend BOTH styles as well as having great gameplay. I can’t wait until that game comes out. I also believe a Sonic Adventure 2 (and also Sonic Adventure 1 because you can’t have one without the other) remake is long overdue.

tbh i see boom as an au of sorts-- one where eggman didnt really do anything all that bad, just puts mediocre evil plans to use only to get beaten by the end of the episode. BUT he and sonic arent exactly friends or enemies- its a weird sort of relationship, but they have such a nice dynamic in boom (the show at least) to me and honestly? im all for it

I want a game that has a darker story and great gameplay. But when I say darker story,I don't mean Shadow the hedgehog two. (OW THE EDGE) I actually made a fan-comic like thing that has a weird story. Tails is the main antagonist,(teamed with Eggman),after an incident in the Roboticizer,he was accidentally turned evil,tho he wasn't tuned into a robot,he lost his free will.(Or something,it been a while since I've read it) And Sonic,the main protagonist,is just teamed with Silver and Amy trying not to be killed by Tails. . .i mean they kinda fail,Sonic was stabbed with a sword but somehow survived,then he held a small grudge against Tails,Amy was super tuff and overprotective over the others,and Silver was really grumpy all the time,but it was still cool to write. . . .
