Not really the chaos gods only came to be because the eldar participated in the war in heaven destabilizing the warp so ofc a entity like korne would emerge first after a conflict like that gaining a massive headstart for his birth massing vast amounts of power. But it really doesnt matter that much by scale they are pretty much all the same age just a couple of hundreds of years apart besides slanesh being ~30.000 years younger than the rest. Its pretty stupid lore wise that they had to push all old chaos gods into the 2 milenium so they roughly correlate to known history.
@gu8647
@gu8647 2 месяца назад
Technically, due to the nature of the warp, the chaos gods always have and always will be both first and last. That’s warp time bs for you. None of them came first, but all of them came first at the same time.

Nurgle was the first of the 4 brothers. Hence why he was called Grandfather. Then it was Tzeentch, brought about to challenge Nurgle's cycle and change things. From this, hatred for life where despite change there was still a cycle of death decay was born and soon led to wars and slaughter to control ones' fate, and then Khorne rose to Challenge them both leading to the shattering of Tzeentch and Khorne becoming the strongest. Then from victory and domination of things that can and can't be changed came excess and indulgence creating Slaanesh. Whether it be 40k or fantasy this is how things went the only difference is the Eldar are solely responsible for Slaanesh in 40k. By the way this is paraphrased.

Correct me if im wrong, but from what im understanding... If Tzneetch is basically the chaos god of Change and Knowledge And Nurgle is basically life and death in a sense. And nurgle's argument or grounds for why he acts the way he does, is because he technically doesnt need to do much to always have influence and in the end the universe will change or rebirth some how. Doesn't that technically mean Tzneetch is like him, in that no matter what he's always gonna be around because for something to be reborn, it will most likely change as well? Effectively meaning they're both always present?
@bambjr1221
@bambjr1221 Месяц назад
Qualifying it as "Change And Knowledge" kind of implies there be an active impetus. Technically new (changed) life grows from the old decay, but its still "kinda the same," and Most Likely would just perpetuate the cycle Nurgle is an avatar of without inter-ference/-vention. Tzeentch cannot be "the order of Chaos," that makes no sense. Squawk off
@battse7718
@battse7718 Месяц назад
Exactly. They hate each other because they are basically the same. Both are future and the past of present, when it changes constantly, but in bigger picture that change itself is a part of cycle. Same with slaanesh and khorne. Both loves indulging in present, just different kind of interests. Honestly GW nailed these concepts of chaos.

@darrylferguson3622
@darrylferguson3622 Месяц назад
Tzeentch and Nurgle hate each other because they are fundementally the same, but Tzeentch insists on being a crafty prick as a show of superiority. Life is a cycle that ends in death, but Death brings certainty and arguably peace, while in life one thing that is guaranteed is Chaos and change, because no mortal can 100% ensure things go the way they want. Nurgle is content to passively indulge in the cycle because even if no one gets sick, in death, things will rot and decay, but Tzeentch insists on sticking his fingers into everyone's business just because he can - it's like being stuck with an eternal roommate that keeps eating your food in the fridge and smiles smugly when you catch them, even though you had planned to share with them to begin with.

I noticed that passivity as character is also part of nurgle. Personally, I like all chaos factions for their uniqueness. If I had to rank the factions of my personal favorites for it's design and lore. My ranking is... 1.) Slaanesh for sensation and enjoyment of life. 2.) Nurgle for durability, immortality, and as stated in the video cycle of Decay and renewal. This is why nurgle has a weird relationship with Isha, the goddess of healing and life. 3.) Tzeench for intellectual, ambitions, magic 🎩, change. 4.) Khorne for being basic of violence, rage, honor and skull 💀 for the skull throne. Ironically, outta all faction khorne is very straightforward, but I like how each chaos faction has their own army and have their own methods of killing and violence.

Be it failing a promise or some other major fuck up. Like letting an entire planet of rot be burned to extra cwispy. Then you'll suffer or die, maybe suffer and die. But, other than that. @axashuraggath7865
@axashuraggath7865 2 месяца назад
But Nurgle can't stop Tzeech, for Tzeech is the God of Change and Manipulation, and when it all ends, he can alter reality to make it back alive, so Nurgle can't put an end to Tzeech, or can he? Nurgle may know all too well about his brother's plan of resurrection when all ends, so he may have a surprise for him, so for when Tzeech might be reborn and he will, maybe Nurgle would have him infected with a new disease,one that could only work against such a foe: The Ever-changing Disease, that would be a great plot twist.
@nebei3740
@nebei3740 2 месяца назад
An ever changing disease would heavily encroach on tzeenches domain as hes the lord of change and entropy and all that by decieving him which hes also the lord of yeah that would be a easy way for nurgle to just give tzeench a free power up
@axashuraggath7865
@axashuraggath7865 2 месяца назад
@@nebei3740 You got a very valid point there, sir. In that case Nurgle should use Tzeech nemesis: order, or a non-allowing change disease, like to putting him in a catatonic state. That's what could stop Tzeech.

Nurgle is this bizarre wholesome chaos monstrosity and the more I learn of him the more I think he’s the least overtly dickish of the Chaos Gods, and the one who actually cares about those who work under him. Yeah he’s a walking blight and his diseases are just… just the worst… but he genuinely seems to be happy to have you apart of his team. He’s like a shoggoth version of Hank Scorpio. Terrifying enemy, absolute BEST boss

I swear that's more Tzeench. They want to embrace the uncertainty and follow an endless scheme of plans, ensuring everything works out perfectly, between the cycles of birth and death. Tzeench would see endless control for endless ways. Your first and last breaths would be under their ever watchful eye(s) Nurgle, however represents both plague and stagnation. Their perfect world would be one where nothing changes and nothing happens. Odly quiet and well groomed. Like a garden, it's all cut and trimmed to fit exact designs and never grow beyond what it can. Nurgle is also stagnation. These cycles inhibit that very stagnation. Tzeench is scheming. Cycles and repeating patterns are perfect to scheme and work with.

Honestly submitting to Nurgle is probably one of the best things one could do for one’s self in the 40k universe, especially as a regular human, vs. an Astartes/Custodies etc. Cause you’re just gonna be used for cannon fodder and end up another cog in the wheel of the imperial war machine, might as well go out feeling a total lack of pain/fear/remorse 😂

It's interesting that unlike the other gods, the emperor of mankind is the direct opposition to nurgle. The corpse god is the representation of enternity, a perpetual who can never truly die, who seeks to form a perfect and everlasting order. Which is perfect opposition to nurgle and tzeentch.

His followers despite being some of the most grusome looking are also the most pleasant too. Everyone else will either murder you with no talk or try seduce/trick you. But Nurgles children will just go "Hello there, lovely day we are having isnt it?". I mean they still try to infect/turn you or kill you if you defy them, but they are the most zen about it.

I swear, it is like I have shifted realities through the warp in how, which chaos gods had the biggest rivalries, have changed from back when I played 3rd edition. I swear it was always Khorne hating Tzeentch as Khorne despises magic and Slaanesh hated Nurgle for obvious reasons. This is like a Mandela effect for me.

All chaos gods are invetable chained to their core esence. That one that persist no matter what energy fills the disformity. Khorne- Hates over all things not facing him forefront. When he exiled his most powerfull demon, he didnt did because he was betrayed, but because was attacked from behind. Showing that even behind all that slaughter, he is still the god of bravery. Tzeentch - even seeing past, present and all possible futures, despite how this bothers him, he keep trying to find the one that will happen. Showing that inside, he is still the god of hope. Nurgle- clearly show the essence of the cycle of life and death, the nature of all things. Slaanesh is maybe the one with the least show of its intrinsic essence, maybe because never have experienced any armonic energy of the diformity. despite being the god of art and love, besides what it is now.

I doubted this video the moment they claimed that Nurgle is reluctant to indulge in suffering. I mean what are you talking about? That's his bread and butter. He doesn't just indulge in suffering. He feasts upon it. Despair and suffering sustains him.

ive always been of the opinon that the rivalries between the chaos gods should be different. khorne hates magic and schemes so much that it's literally a part of his roster's powers. I would think his direct rival would be tzeentch. And while tzeentch hates stasis, i dont think nurgle represents that. the cycle changes from step to step, it might go in a circle, but there is change inside of it. Meanwhile khorne's rage is constant. it does not falter. his way of war never changes. plus his disregard for magic and schemes puts them at odds. I dont see why khorne would rival slaanesh, a part of slaanesh's ways is to reach ever higher vistas of experience. warriors of slaanesh would most likely delight khorne to at least a lesser extent than his own. Hell, khorne even rewards his warriors for success in a similar fashion to slaanesh, with pleasure. albeit in a different light, but still. And while i get while slaanesh would regard khorne as a brute, i dont see him hating khorne as much as nurgle. nurgle is about decay, a lessening of perfection. slaanesh hates nothing more than coming down from a high, and this combined with nurgle's "ugly" aesthetic would i think put them at opposition. Nurgle Slaanesh Khorne Tzeentch

Slaanesh rejoices in the pursuit of extremes of all kinds. More than pleasure and pain in crude forms. One might pursue the absolute mastery of swordplay for Slaanesh, or music, horsemanship, or any fine art - but it must be pushed to insanity levels of skill, beyond that of any mortal's dream. One must pursue everything that is forbidden, and master it, for the Champions of Slaanesh know no fear, nor terror. For them, there is only the promise of new experiences.

While that comment was a good own by Nurgle. Tit-snitch is just as inevitable, because both their powers are driven by time rather than emotion. Khorne and Slaneesh are the two that rely heavily on specific human emotions

I heard an interesting theory that Khorne, Tzeentch, & even Nurgle feed the power of Slaanesh, making her/him (them?) the most dominant of the Chaos Gods because their whole thing is chasing an excess of their essential qualities. There's no balance in their realms or an attempt to achieve balance in the material realm. Khorne wants the most blood/skulls possible, Tzeentch wants the most knowledge/ambition-fueled change possible, & Nurgle wants the most decay/entropy possible, & to do so by fighting to dominate the material realm with MORE of this extreme. Slaanesh is the god of excess in all things, hence unless the other Gods are willing to lose the Great Game, the Dark Prince wins.

nurgle and tzeentch despise each other so much because they embody opposites. Mortals seek out Nurgle because he represents finality and death. The comfort of knowing that all in the end are the same, just bodies of inevitable decay. But Tzeentch is hope. Change in their fate and current status. Mortals want the ability to achieve more than what they already have.

To be fair, Nurgle I also a God of Stagnation and Emtripy. Any change he advocates for are natural and inevitable. Tzeentch, by contrast, is a God of Ambition and Change. His goal is a universe perpetually in flux, one where everything constantly shifts based on the ever-changing schema of himself and gis followers. This is basically the opposite of Nurgle.
