Thank you, Paddy. A great introduction to Korea. I will be the first to admit that I know very, very little about Korea. But you got me a bit more interested about that country now.

The Korean alphabet is for sure super simple. I learned it in one or two days about 35 years ago and can still read Korean (meaning sound out most words, but not necessarily understand the meaning) even though I haven't studied Korean or used it much since then.

Love Korea and lived there for 2.5 years 🙂 I agree that Koreans show more emotion and are easier to get close to than the Japanese (if we are going to compare) Funny that you mention more western women with Koreans than southeast Asia. When I lived in Korea I knew a few western women who were dating Koreans (and two who married) but after living in Thailand for 1.5 years I haven't met a single western woman seriously dating a Thai guy (personally at least. My Italki teacher is a Thai guy married to a Canadian woman but I haven't actual met her or my teacher in person)

Goes to show you that women are just as superficial as men.. maybe even more superficial. Women care a lot about height, looks and money/status, 3 things that Korean men definitely have over most of the rest of Asia. But most women don't actually admit it but as the saying goes, actions speak louder than words

In July 1950, Thailand was the first Asian nation to respond to the US call for allies in Korea. Prime Minister Plaek Phibunsongkhram told parliament that, "by sending just a small number of troops as a token of our friendship, we will get various things in return." A month after agreeing to commit troops, Thailand received US$10 million in US economic aid and a US$25 million loan from the World Bank.[2] Fourty thousand tons of rice were sent to Korea immediately as food aid, followed by an infantry battalion from the 1st Infantry Battalion of the 21st Regimental Combat Team[3] (later renamed the 21st Infantry Regiment, Queen's Guard), formed on 22 September, and several warships.[4] Later in the conflict, several transport aircraft were sent by the Thai government.

In Asia, only the Mongolians can compete with the Koreans when it comes to drinking. You should mention how bland every Korean beer is, but that it doesn't matter because you end up mixing it with soju anyway. Several of the worst hangovers I've had in my life were in Korea! When I started going to South Korea twenty years ago the only westerners were American English teachers and you'd see daggy LBH's guys dating attractive Korean women. LBH meant "loser back home"! That all changed once the Korean wave made it to the west and brought K-Pop with it, which brought the Koreaboos coming from the west and that's when I first noticed the western girls coming to chase the Korean guys. Koreans were already good-looking but westerners knew nothing about Korea until the Korean pop culture wave hit. Jjimjjilbangs are great but if you go on your own without somebody to ask how stuff works it can be tricky. I tried to use my phone translator just on signs on the wall and got told to put my camera away (-: Last trip I planned to travel randomly and just find jjimjjilbangs along the way but that didn't work because there's lots of closed down ones still on the maps. And if I recall correctly Google Maps is no good in Korea and you have to use Naver which has no English translations. Next time get down to Busan. I always used to like Seoul more than Busan but last trip, a few months before the pandemic I couldn't really get into Seoul so much anymore and loved the more gritty more chill vibe in Busan. I especially loved eating at the cheapest joints in the fish market with the locals. Next time I want to go deep into the countryside.

I think there's more cute/kawaii girls in Japan but beautiful/glamorous there's more in Korea. There might be more pretty girls in Korea too. There's definitely more pretty guys in Korea but I'm not a good judge of men's looks.

Ahahahha korean women look horrible without surgery the least attractive asian women literally..I dont know why people Always claim korean women are beautiful...maybe with 50 surgery and 10 kg of make up...Japanese women are more beautiful and some are naturally not like fake plastic face like koreans...in reality korean men are much more attractive in korea, and in Japan women are more prettier than j men in average

The reason why many Korean men can date Western women is because Korea has a high per capita income is high The reason why Thai men date Western women less is because Thailand is poor Women date men who are similar to or higher than themselves In the U.S., Asians are said to be short, but the reason is that Asia is poor Korea is the tallest in Asia It's because of its high economic power If Thailand had as high an income as the U.S., it would eat better than now and have a strong soft power, and I am sure that many Western women would have wanted to meet Thai men and settle in Thailand due to their rich lives

@@BebyboyniThailand-wl5pe Singapore worker's real wage is less than Korea Singapore is a city-state, not a country that can live in settlement Dating tendencies change between countries due to economic conditions I have seen many Korean men and Thai women get married, but I have not seen many Korean women and Thai men get married The reason is the economic gap, the educational gap Women generally do not date men who are lower than themselves. Korea's economic power is less than that of the U.S. However, since there are more Western countries with lower incomes or similar incomes than Korea, men and women tend to date Westerners at a similar rate in Korea. I also see Korean men dating Western women on the street

@@BebyboyniThailand-wl5peIf Thailand's economic power was higher than that of the U.S., Thailand's soft power would have influenced the world more, ate good food, became bigger than now, enjoyed a good cultural life, and many countries longed for Thailand Then many women all over the world would have envied life in Thailand and wanted to marry a Thai man and settle down in Thailand The status of Thai men would have been high
