@@kylelamb9618 Dr Martens don't sell half sizes in the uk, your best bet for half sizes is NPS solovair, which produce boots at the original drmarten factory!

What matters most is the LENGTH of the shoe. The leather will break in and stretch for width, but the length will not change. Docs run about a half size large. If your toe touches the end, it will always touch the end. I wear a 7 narrow- the 6 fits great width wise, but my toe just barely touches. While that might work for using the boots for looks, it won't be comfortable for work/function. The 7 is a little wide and long. Consider what you're doing in the boots, how many hours a day you'll be in them, if you'd like to wear thick socks sometimes (which I recommend while breaking in,) etc. Almost always better for your feet to have a little too much room than not quite enough. If you're a half size, size down, otherwise take your normal size which will be a little large, and add insoles. I take out their insole, add Dr. Scholls, and then a thin insert with arch support on top- then I straight lace them so they're nice and tight. Perfect.

always match your CM or MM size, its the exact size for everything.. EU, US, and UK always varies.. in CM you can always match your size even with the other brand.. like for ex. some brands are US8.5, EU41.5, UK9.5 but in CM is 260 or 26, and some indicates as 26.5 or 265. now if you find what really your size according to mm and cm you'll find the exact size for you.

Yes in online shopping, we have to be careful with the measurements. At home, i measured my feet( Length and width) and add 1/2 inch to my actual foot length. Ex. 9 inches + 1/2= 9.5 then I compare it to every sizes like US7 , US 6 and US 5. Among the 3 sizes, US 6 measures 9.5 inches which is quite closer to my actual FL. US 5 measures 23.4 which is tighter than tje two.Another thing to cons8der is your foot shape and the thickness of your ankle.

I normally wear like almost all of my shoes in 40.5 eu size, but my DM shoes is 39 and fits great for a wide footed person like me. While I have 39.5 Timbs too. So size varies which shoe brands and type.

I just bought my doc martens and I’m usually a 7 1/2 since they don’t have half sizes I tried both 7 and 8. Size 8 for my liking has too much space and size 7 is really tight it’s hard to get my feet in. I ended up getting the size 7 and I don’t know if I made the right choice 🤷‍♀️. I’m in the process of breaking them in but I’m debating on going back to the store and getting the size 8 or just waiting to see if they expand.

@@Fodaydontplay I ended up switching for a size 8 and completely regret it. Found out I like my shoes/boots a bit in the tight side. But since I’ve worn them outside more than once I can’t return them. 😢 Moral of the story chose the smaller size.

I’m going through the same… I wear US 8 so I got new PASCALS from poshmark in US 8 . They seem huge …I put thick socks and insoles that helped but I feel like Frankenstein, lol!

I’m usually a size 9.5 and I thought a 10 would be too big. Honestly it wasn’t that bad. Like yea my toes probably don’t touch but I’d rather that little bit of space as opposed to it touching and hurting. I want to actually want to wear them. I would say to get a bigger size just because of that. And they still look great

It's important to note that the Vintage Made in England Docs and the "The Original" which are made in Asia Docs, have different lasts, meaning they have different shapes even in the same model boot/shoe. The toe box on the made in England shoes are lower volume compared to the regular Asian made ones, so the boot with fit more snug... Saying that, my size in Vans is 6.5US, and I got the size 6US/5UK, and the boot ended up being too big for me, both in volume and length. After that I got the same size 6US/5UK in the Vintage made in England, and it fit me perfectly. If I were to get the Asian ones again, I would down size a full size again and get the 5US/4UK, because my feet were swimming in the next size up. I do have skinny low volume feet, so that's something to take into consideration, cause if someone else has high volume feet, they may be able to get away with down sizing a half size from their regular shoe size, but the length was still an issue for me, so there's that. It's hard for people who've never worn Docs to know, because what's tight or fitting in the store will become much looser once broken in.

Don’t get Dr. Martens, get Solovair and go down a size and a half. Or just 1 size and add some insoles. They’re the originals, better made and come in half sizes. And are British made!

@@Fodaydontplay I just bought my third pair, I’m in nyc. They take a while to break in, but once they are, you’d want to wear them all the time. The soles are tough too. Doesn’t hurt to get a pair. Sizing is pretty much the same as Docs.

Just got my 2976 yesterday…I usually wear 11-11.5 shoes…so I went with 11 in the docs…but the heels on these docs are sooooo loose and I’m not experiencing any abnormal discomfort, they r tight, but no major pain. Should I really buy a size 10? Lol I haven’t wore a size 10, ever Oh, I double wool socked them for like 3 hours right when I got them and it was tight…but nothing so much that I had to take them off.

I think 11 is fine with you. Once you break into them then they’ll be perfect. Just be patient. A 10 might put you in a lot of discomfort especially if you’ve never wore that size before.

The 1460 runs small. I wear a 12 in all other boots and shoes...except Doc Martens. I ordered a pair of 1460s mono chrome and they were way too small. And yes, they were authentic, not knock offs.

To be honest I if you can get a pair of Dr Martin pascal's boots the leather is super supple leather compared to other materials there made from. But as far as I know they have stopped making them in this leather now. But if your lucky you can still see some for sale but there mostly in black thou. 😥

Or they have stopped making certain colours I know the cherry red ones are like hens teeth now. You see companies still selling them but there like sizes 3 or 4. So I just take it, it's just old stock they can't shift.

Hi! I want so bad a pair of pascals with the softest leather but i have the same situation as you, half number. So i don’t know if should get the UK 3 or 4. My foot is 22.8 cm, i asked costumer service which size should get but they were not helpful at all… I would be immensely grateful if you could help me a bit. Thank you.. it all depends on your feet and also how you want the boots to fit. If you have wide feet than pick a size up. If you want it to fit lose or don’t want to deal with the breaking in process than go with a size up. Usually the leather will stretch after you break into it so that’s why they recommend people going a half size down.

I’m figuring out which size to get for me for the chelsea boot. I’m normally an 8-8.5 US size. Yesterday i tried on the 8 and it had a lot of toe space in it. But when i tried the 7 my toes were at the top of the shoe. It felt a bit more comfortable wearing the 7 since i didnt feel like i was lifting a lose heavy shoe like the 8, however i can see it feeling uncomfortable since there was no room for thicker socks. And it was extremely difficult to take off the shoe. Would the 7 be better even if the toes are at the top? Edit: Got the size 8 with insoles! Wearing them around the house and they are perfect! Get their insoles!

When I first got into boots, I accidentally ordered my normal size, which is a size 9. I bought a 9. Realized it was huge on me. I bought insoles and they fit fantastic. I usually always size down when purchasing boots and allow for the break in period to conform to my feet. Hope this helps!

yeah i would recommend size 8 for you. i bought my first docs a few weeks ago and at first i chose the bigger size because it felt more comfortable at the heel but the heel ended up slipping up all the time so i exchanged the original shoe for the smaller size. the smaller size hurts at the heel and is in general pretty tight but much better.

Damn I got a sz12 US because they said they were true to size.. they were uncomfortably tight. To tight to try to even break them in. I got my true size but I can feel the shoe touching my toes, is it normal? The shoe in general feels a bit wide and “big” so I don’t know if my foot just glides forward when I’m walking and touches the shoe or if they are too small for me.

If you buy online, check the measurements like the cm's mm's and inches. Some folks says to add 1 inch on your actual footlenth. And also consider the Foot width, the foot shape and the thickness of the both ankles.

I usually buy size 9 and they usually theres enough space for 2-3 fingers, I got the a cold wall collab in a size 10, they didn't have my size in a size 9 so after watching this video, maybe I should have gone for the size 8 and break in the shoe, a size 10 will definitely not fit

@@Fodaydontplay hello friend sorry to bother you, so when you bought your pair were your toes touching the top of the shoe? also, do you feel that there is a difference in sizing between 1460 and 1461? i own a 7UK pair of 1460 nappa and at the beginning they were ok like not that tight or roomy either but after breaking in they ended up being really big. Recently i've bought a pair of 1461 gaucho in 6.5UK(since i already knew that 7UK was not my size) and they feel ok, only some heel slippage in the right foot, so i dont know if maybe i should go to a 6UK for the "perfect fit"

Hello, I'm usually a size 8.5 for shoes. I went to the doc marten store and tried on the 7 but it felt like I couldn't even put my foot it like it was too tight. I feel the same here like it is really tight at first but once break in, they’re comfortable. I normally like all of my shoes are 40.5 and a bit wider feet but ended up 39.5 on my Timberlands and 39 on my Docs. They fit so well. Only the breaking process is a pain in the ass but eventually have a nice fit. If it feels really tight, go get them and break them in. Apply balsam on the outside and inside and wear thick socks. Then it will be ok

Is it possible for you to try on docs at a store. Try on a size 10 and 11 to see how they fit. Usually people go a size down because the leather frees up but idk. You could heave wide feet witch will make it uncomfortable if you side down.

Vans are true to size just like the docs.. Since you have wide feet, go up a size. I’ll say get a size 11 to be safe. Going down a size might make your breaking in process very uncomfortable for you.

Im 9.5, bought 10 its slightly loose but it gave my foot 3 days of pain, felt like it was squeezing my feet, i wore it 9 hours a day so if softened the size a little bit. Theres a slight heel sleep idk if thats normal, I was afraid to size down cuz it might be too small, (bought it online so trying it on was not an option)

they are a little big but, i think you are wearing them for too long. Try putting them on for a couple hours and gradually increase depending on the pain.

I woud say my feet are unfortunately not that suitable for docs , i have long toes and wide foot, so the pain was mostly the squeeze tight fit from the narrow boot, now that it softened up it's not that bad anymore, though still long way before breaking it in, creases are starting to show YAY. I Went to the mall and tried some 1460's the crazy horse one sized 9, my toes are cramped like a can of sardines and it felt like it was cutting my blood circulation cuz the sides are too tight xD, so i picked the 10 again and compared it to what i have now and its much better. Guess i'll just use some insoles.

I would suggest going to a shore that sells docs.. I believe a 7 should fit you. When you break in them they should stretch and be more comfortable.. which Docs do you want to get?

Ok so I’m usually a size 7 or 7 1/2 in shoes, so I tried the size 7 docs but they felt a little too loose. I then tried on the size 6 docs and they felt ok on my feet but my toe would touch the tip of the boot when I walked, which I knew would probably be uncomfortable. I ended up getting the size 7s but I’m not sure if I made the right choice- when I lace them up really tight they still feel too wide even though the length is ok. I ended up putting insoles in them and they feel really good now, except for slight heel movement. I have really really thin feet so I have problems like this often, but I’m still not sure if I made the right choice :

After wearing 2 socks, it feels better however there's still a slight heel movement. I am wondering are you comfortable of wearing them after 3 months. Okay.. what whole size fits you best (depends on how you like your shoes to fit). Its either going to be tight or big and lose. Remember that breaking into your docs will stretch out the leather and mold it to your feet. You would want it to fit lose if you have wide feet.

I just bought the 2046 size 4 as I have the Pascal Boot before and size 4 fits me.. However with this low cut boot the shoe feels a bit loose. I have tried to put an insoles but it didn't work. After wearing 2 socks, it feels better however there's still a slight heel movement. Is this normal? I heard the boots will stretch over time. Should I return it? @@Fodaydontplay Thanks for replying. I have tried wearing 1 tick socks and 1 liner socks but there is still a little heel slippage (not a lot). I can feel the heel moves a tiny bit when walking. There is no heel movement with the size 3 but I felt both the width and the length make the size 3 tight, however there is no heel mov i am not sure whether it is supposed to feel that way as people mentioned there will be a break in period. I am worried if the boot will stretch over time. Do you think I should keep it? Thanks again

@@Cynthia10tj leather dr martens will stretch during the break in period. Some people were able to stretch their docs to about a half size.. I’ll say get a size 3 and break into them. There pain free ways to break in docs. Eventually they will be very comfortable

Does anyone have any experience with the Combs boot? I just received a pair in the mail. I normally wear a kids US size 4 sneaker so I ordered my boots in this size... they are tight!!! so i just bought some size 11 1460s and they are quiet loose even with lacing all the way up the boot they still seem loose but the 10s seemed a bit too tight in the toe box area my toes felt squished and my pinky toe was hitting the edge they felt fine length wise but not width wise should i exchange the 11s for 10s or try getting insoles

You can try insoles to see if that helps or get a 10 and break them in.. put newspaper in them when you are not wearing them to keep the shape

yes, I think so, I wear a 4.5, I tried a 4 and my side toes hurt so I changed it to a 5, it doesn't hurt but my heels slip. If you get the chance try both.

@@Fodaydontplay I currently have a womens US size 9 2976 Chelsea boot (made in China I’m guessing?) and I am looking at getting 1460 pascal made in England Cavalier pair. The US sz 9 Chelsea fit perfect, with a little room for thick socks/insoles possibly. I don’t know if I should go for a size 9 or 10 in the made in England 1460’s, I definitely do not want them too small! My toes are sensitive lol!

Chelsea boots are hard to put on. If you like how the size 8 fits then get them.. its shouldn't be very tight if you don't have wide feet.

Hi! I recently bought a pair on size 41 (im from Europe). I normally wear size 42 but the official Dr Martens site said i should size down (after i measured my foot) I could put them on pretty easily but after i put them on they hurt on the top of my foot. Like, a lot.. And i know they will stretch with time there. But i can feel the front of the shoe with my big toe while walking. But not while standing.. When im standing its totally fine and i even have room to move wiggle my fingers. But when im walking my big toe hits the front of the shoe and its pretty annoying. Please tell me i didnt buy the wrong size because ive already worn them a lot and i cant change them 😂 And no i havent tried the bigger size. I ordered them online.

Shoes will maybe stretch in width but they can't stretch in length, so if your toes ever touch the front the shoes are definitely too small. Been there. There should always be some room in the front, no matter how people say "they like them" there is only one correct fit, the rest will lead to toe deformation.

Don’t trust it the same thing happened to me. I’m a 11.5 in women but on the site it said like 8 or something for me if I went by measuring my feet. I didn’t trust it and just got a 12 (I got a vegan pair of Jadons which are known to not stretch and be a bit tighter so that’s why I sized up instead of down). If I got an 8 it wouldn’t have even gone on my feet lol

My true size is 42 EU. Ive got me the Classic 1460 ones but before i did i was reading a lot on the internet that they said we should always size down so instead of getting me the 42 EU size i choose to go for the Size 41. Oh man its been 3 months and i am still trying to break in. I remember using the boots for 2 days straight And i had literally blisters on my soles.. well after i experienced that i stopped wearing thise boots for over a month. currently im using them again and i feel like when i first fit in them its comfortable but then… when i sit for some minutes and stand up to walk i feel the pressure again which hits on my soles so i am not sure if ive choosen the right size but its 2 late now. anyways 2 yrs ago ive experienced the same thing with the Jadon Ones ive got me the size 43 EU instead of my true size 42 EU and man holy fuck they were too big but now to my QUESTION. i wanna get me the jadon ones too and i think that ll actually try my true size 42 EU ANY suggestions?

Oo wow.. you’ve been through a lot.. I’ll say stick to your true size true size 42.. dr martens leather are not so strong that it should hurt for that long.. the 42 will be a little tight but you should able you break in them without crying.. the old thing I’ll say about the 41 is to try to put some heat on it to soften the leather and gradually walk in them. Also stuff newspaper in them when you are not wearing them
