That Dude's armor he got in the last third of the vid was the Gunpla kit(not actually a Gundam, but referencing how a Gunpla kit is built), to symbolize, that he is using his hobby(model kit building) to fight the addiction

That's cool and all but the fact is, most if not all women still don't look anything close to that. It's just kinda lame to have yet ANOTHER super plain looking male anime character with ANOTHER unrealistically gorgeous girlfriend who's oh so in love with him even though he has literally nothing special to offer. It's just feeding more unrealistic standards for nerd guys who think that if they kick their hentai addiction they'll magically get a crazy hot goddesslike girlfriend irl. And THAT's otaku logic. It would have been much more poignant to actually address the fact that odds are a basic looking guy will end up with a basic looking girl who will NEVER come even close to looking like an anime waifu. To me it seems like the creators were almost scared to depict the girlfriend as basic because then they know the audience probably wouldn't be as invested in the main character fighting for her if she wasn't able to rival the beauty of the "fake" girls.

That's an interesting idea! I have a small theory about it too, which actually comes from my own life experience: I have been an anime fan (not a hardcore otaku, mind you) for about 20-23 years now. And I can admit that it has at least partially changed my perception of people's appearance, in particular as far as men are concerned. I fully realize that my ideal partner - with dark black hair and gorgeous blue eyes - most probably doesn't exist anywhere because he is too ideal, too anime-protagonistish. And I think the same thing might have happened with the boy in the video: he has a warped perception of his girlfriend. He sees her as a goddess, the one who is similar to his favourite anime cuties. And he tries to make her behave and look like one. However, as soon as she tried to protest or deviated from his desired image, he gave up on the relationship and broke up with her - because she is no longer the ideal, tainted with the flaws of reality instead. But because he has this broken perception of reality, he still refuses to see real her and keeps the vision of a picture-perfect woman with huge you-know-what, perfect figure and unrealistically beautiful hair. I might be completely overthinking the whole thing, of course, but I just have a feeling that this theory at least sounds feasible.

Something worth noting on that "Goodbye." it uses Sayonara, which is a goodbye that invokes a sense of finality. As in it is the kind of goodbye you would use when you never expect to see someone again or at least not for a long time.

... Unless you close/pause it, showing that sometimes, all it takes is one other person helping the victim break the cycle so they don't fall into addiction. All it takes is someone giving enough of a shit to warn the person, before they self-destruct, telling the person "enough is enough, you need help. Time to quit." Reaching out is important. If you never click off the vid or pause the vid, the guy in the video never ends the cycle. It's in your hands.

I think there is a censored version, tho however it devalues the message by a lot, with lots of scenes being important were cut, but u can kinda piece it together. I’ve never seen the video as something easy to digest, it sickens me how people have turned the dance into a meme as something quirky and funny when in reality the full concept is really aggressive

I think one of the reasons it's become such a commonplace issue has to do with how isolating their culture can be. Schools are nothing like the anime schools, hardly anyone is able to properly interact with each other, some schools have segregation between genders, people are expected to live to work jobs that give a lot of pressure and leave people often exhausted so they have no time to socialize, and if you don't meet standards you'll be an outcast. And that's terrifying for a lot of people, especially because growing up they never really learned how to properly socialize with other kids their age. Suicide is also high there because of this isolation issue. Japan makes amazing things, but it's because they're working themselves to death to do it.

Jason, bingo. It's about Shuu's obsession with p*rn, specifically with Me-Me and how it destroys his relationship with Hana. He wants Hana to be like Me-Me and the whole drowning in puke thing is the "fantasy Hana" trying to warp his mind completely. Notice how he walks away from the real Hana sobbing her heart out, and the evil one (the fantasy) is mutilating him. By the time he realises what's important, it's too late and it ultimately destroys him, and all is left is a mutilated head - symbolising that he has lost EVERYTHING.

I took it as his obsessions for weird and honestly disgusting things mocking him and showing their in complete control over him,and that no matter how disgusted or opposed he is to them he will never break free

I don’t really see the “unattainable standards” part, but I can see some of what you mean, but I think it’s more being linked to objectification of women. Which sort of aligns with what you said on standards portrayed on social media. “Only thinking of women as sex objects” Is the main thing I got out of looking at it through views of women. As it had a very, “you can’t be happy without sex” tone to it. Lastly, on thinking of expectations, i think that it might be jabbing at how media targets men with sexual escapism trying to disassociate them with reality, till they want to live on in fantasy, not try in reality. But that’s just my take on trying to see the song through your interpretation of it, hope you found this interesting as I found yours.

But loading context into things when arguing against someone’s views can easily not be taken seriously or even just cause unnecessary conflict. But it’s interesting how you would say it’s Japans fault for anime, where as I think it’s more consumer and based on what sells. I don’t think it’s fair to assume, or believe, Anime reflects Japan itself. Since they have pretty good economical class equality, this isn’t really shown in anime. Maybe, it’s just based on what they know people will draw more people in. Including outside of Japan. That said, it’s interesting how you brought up LGBT+ representation, as, I’ve never really seen Anime characters as really human, so artificial, I never cared for my representation from things like cartoons or drawings, I never see these characters and feel a connection of self to them, probably because I care more about individuality than grouping. However, I should be able to relate to celebrities by that logic, but I still don’t. Because they still have an artificial feeling I guess. I think there’s no point in expecting representation of lgbtq+ in anime, in everything. But there are anime with things like Lesbian romances, but I don’t think that’s what you mean/want. I think it’s unhealthy to worry on such a thing too much, since you are you, that is the most beautiful thing I’ve experienced. To be here and now is really good, you can be who you want without needing labels, they’re optional, or trying to be like someone else, you can always take bits off characters you like, like if a character is charismatic and you aren’t, then look into becoming more of who you want to be using that character trait. I would recommend coming up with your own stories, or simply talking to like minded people in your community. Some people have very interesting lives, some people are really good at telling stories, those are better versions of representation than a “perfect” artificial lgbtq+ character created in a room of people discussing how to make it sell.
