What to do if Your Bolt® Lithium has No Battery Power 

Make sure your machine is charged... ok thanks. How about you guys make sure you stop using cheap batteries that won't hold a charge after 6 months.

This helped me today to revive this Bissell XRT 14.4 vacuum as I thought it was dead by yesterday :). It appears that the brush had too many hair rolled up and caused it could not move and red light is on. I thought it was the time the Bissell cordless vacuum's battery dying but it is not! I have this for 4 years and the battery continues working great!!

Very helpful, thought battery on my vacuum was dying finally but it was just long hairs caught up in the brush. Happy to see it'll last me through college.

After one year of use, the device turn off itself after 5-10 seconds. I have three (3!!!) replacement from vendor - all these three devices gives the same outcome in half a year. At last I've dissembled one of them and connect battery directly to the electric engine. It works for about 45-50 minutes till battery become flat. Conclusion - the issue is not with battery but with controller. It turn off the engine, not because of bad charged battery. I'm very upset that three working devices have been dumped because of controller malfunction. It looks like engineering system error, not one-off issue

We purchased a bolt pet last night from walmart. We love it but didn’t get the charging dock. The one on display had the dock with it to charge it and hold the extra attatchments.

I purchased a 25 volt Bissell Ion Bolt XRT. It worked great for about 6 months then would not run for more than 5-10 seconds. CI called Bissell and got another one and it did the same thing, Called Bissell again and they said "too bad". Do not buy this machine!!

My vacuum does not want to charge... When I plug it into the charge, it continously blinks red( all four). I got a new charger and still the same problem. Can someone please tell me how I can fix it?

Kinda like this machine. It was the standard warranty replacement for the machine I had originally purchased. I Loved that machine. I wanted to give it a Nobel Peace price. Small& compact great suction. However People are correct about this machine and my original- After awhile the charge won't hold. Expect to buy a new one every year. Wish they were cheaper for this glitch but it does suit my needs expect for being " long lasting.

Pro-tip: if it's still not working on a cleaned/new brush: make sure you press the on/off brush button (under the top power button) on the stick. You might just have the roller turned off like me. :P

Mine powers off aftyer a few seconds without even being attached to the brush, I remove the vacuum itself from the handle & turn it on & it will shut off after a few seconds. So it can Not be the brushes.

This was an incredible insult of a video! Make sure the charger is plugged in! I purchased a Bolt in March for a small office rug in a clean laboratory environment at work. My Girlfriend wanted one upon seeing it so I got a second one for home.Three months later the first one, with maybe 5 uses under it's belt quit working. The red light never stopped blinking while plugged in and it never showed any sign of life again.Bissell was useless when I contacted them, I threw it away and bought a little dirt devil. Yesterday after just 8 months the one at home wouldn't turn off and eventually died. Now it does the same familiar blinking.I'll be buying a dirt devil for home like the one I have at work.This is a bad model, we have a Bissell little carpet scrubber that's a beast but it'll be the only Bissell in my life from now on.

The batteries wear out and are not replaceable. That's not acceptable. They did replace my first unit under warranty but the unit is not broken, just planned obsolescence. Unreal that you're supposed to throw away a perfectly function vaccuum for the lack of a battery replacement.

The battery won't hold a charge for more than a minute or two now. My unit is only 1. 5 years old. I can assure you, Bissell, this was the LAST BISSELL I will ever buy. And I'll be posting reviews elsewhere too about this crappy "made in China" junk. Good luck staying in business.

Was hoping someone was able to address the issue of the damn thing not charging. Bought a Shark cordless....am not looking back.

I clean the brushes but it doesnt start but when i remove it from the brushes its working fine. I already clean the brushes 😔

On full charge ....... Mine will run a few seconds,then shut down, I turn it back on & it runs a few seconds & shuts down, it acts like the battery runs out super fast or something. Even with the vaccuum handheld and filter removed ,Vacuum Only it does this.

This was bought for a second home and it only gets used maybe every other month. Loved it the first couple of times I used it but now it's completely useless. Should have listened to the previous reviews.

No more battery ? I charge it, and the vaccum consider itself as fully charged (moving from low to high quickly) ... 10 minutes of use and it become red. Then blinking red at it stop before 15 minutes of usage.

The battery on this product is terrible. My first one died before 1 year. Bissell sent me a replacement pretty quickly. It's been almost exactly 1 year later and it will not stay on for more than a few seconds. Very disappointing.

Hey Bissell, it seems as though you've ripped off quite a few of us now. I WAS loving this machine, but no more.

This vacuum doesn't "suck" it blows.

Have to add my thumbs down too for this product. Am totally over these machines that don’t last more than 5 minutes - utterly shameful Bissell, you used to be a respected brand. Mine has also failed after maybe 10 months light use. It’s wicked - down to the landfill it goes - I will NEVER buy Bissell brand again!

My Bissell Bolt Model 13122 is junk!

My power issues were NOT resolved. My Bolt Ion XRT shuts down after 5 seconds. I charged directly and indirectly to a wall outlet, cleaned the brush head, and the canister. I washed the filter as well. Note that the hand held section shuts down in 5 seconds. Based on all the comments below, this is common with the machine. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!

This was an expensive vacuum to not be able to use it smh. I thought bissell was a trusted brand but I will not purchase this brand again. I had to buy a new vacuum after only having this for a short period of time.

Bissell cheaped out on the batteries which fail & dont charge - no fix they r just junk They are totally aware of the fault & do nothing, I have heard so many stories of this issue I think a class action would close Bissells doors forever. For what was meant to be their flagship product it looks like someone bought their brand and used it to flog junk, they used to be a quality product.

As others have noted - the vacuum does not hold its charge. I have had mine for 15 months and it only runs for 10 seconds. Terrible product.

Don't buy BISSELL battery-powered vacuums. My 2133 crapped the bed after only three charges. Out of warranty.

Bissell is garbage that lasts a year tops. All our Bissell vacuums die in a year.

Awful piece of junk. Purchased March 2019. Stopped working. Returned July. Stopped working in 1 week. Purchased 3rd October 5th and it only charged once and stopped

Do not buy this vacuum at all. literally got this last night at walmart and it dies each time under 5 mins. Fucking ridiculous.

Is she insulting my intelligence? So when the battery dies I would be like ..ahh ok time to throw it out I guess...... Bissel is garbage no way to replace the the rechargeable batteries in all of their hand helds ..... so basically it only lasts 10 months of moderate use..if you open the back they have it rigged the wires that connect the battery will ripp off and no way to solder them back on ...total RIP off..buy a Shark you can order and replace the battery pack on their website ..not Bissell they even tell you if you open the thing up the wires are loosely installed on the panel and come out of the battery pack ..its then garbage ...
