High fives for Anthony C for taking his battery apart to rebuild - here's his rebuild page here: saclefr.blogspot.com/2021/05/batterie-dun-bissell-multireach-ion-xl.html
Thank you. Waiting battery delivery to confirm or not if it's that easy 😆 I have 2 Bissel bolt 25v at home so if it work for one, I know I will have to redo it in some years for the second.
😅 just the video I needed tonight, you answered all my lithium battery questions. I bought this unit Reg $200. on sale for $150. at C-Tire Nov. 2014. The beater bar lasted about 4 months... broke off, repaired, broke again. But, it worked perfectly as a hand held for 10 yrs. I love the little bugger. Ten yrs on & now it won't charge. After watching your vlog, I'm gonna have to replace it...damnit. Cheers Chris, you saved me from friggin' with it anymore. Pat/Yukon, Canada✌
Thank you for posting this. Mine only worked well once and then the second time didn't hold a charge. I called customer service and they assured me it was the handle. They sent me a new handle and I left it in storage for a year because I was moving. I just tried to use it again for my new area rugs and won't even charge. Saddened that I wasted money. Will not buy a cordless again.
We've had 2 of these. They each lasted about 3-4 years. First 1, I didn't want to deal with changing battery, so bought a new 1. Now 2nd one battery only lasts 1 minute. Did a search to replace both, but came across this. Thanks for saving me the hassle. Guess I'll be going Dyson
@@spinphoto yes, the batteries in dyson are replaceable...Not cheap, but replaceable. Another good option is black and decker. They use the same 20V battery pack as their tools, but the Dyson has better performance
Thank you for saving me the time of trying to deal with the battery. Into the trash it goes after I pull the battery out and dispose of it. I hate these models that aren't designed to be repaired.
@@spinphoto 100%. The little unit actually wasn't the most awful design. Semi-decent suction in a cordless package but my battery got to the point where yours was and I just wanted to see if it was something I could replace/rebuild. Now I'm tearing it down and researching a replacement. So much needless trash that was generated by a poor design choice.
@@sACLeFR please let me know how it goes! The other reason I didn’t bother with repairing, the wheels had wore out and the power head dragged on the floor, marking it up. It’s a design that isn’t built for longevity, unfortunately. Seems the be the way for a lot of products these days
@@spinphoto I prepared a quick page that I will update when I will receive the new batteries : saclefr.blogspot.com/2021/05/batterie-dun-bissell-multireach-ion-xl.html It is in French but the image are easy to understand. I found how the batteries are connected each others and what I can reuse (the black round plastic in the middle to store the batteries)
