Gotta say I'm hoping my childhood doesn't come to bite me in the ass. Diagnosed with ocd as a kid but never had to take anything or get counseled, apparently had gerd but every biopsy came clean, and I had at least one sinus infection a year but I haven't taken meds for anything in years almost a decade. Genesis added a bunch of stuff that belonged to my father (same name same physicians same addresses) so I had additional DQs and none of my documents submitted changed any of the prior DQs. So I’m PDQ again. I could go and get letters saying I’ve never had hearing aids (my father) or don’t have knee instability (my father) but after years of trying and none of PULHES scores changing after my last round of documentation I am hanging it up. They win…
This was for the Air Force, I went next door and gave my full packet to Army and he said he would reach out if it was worth submitting, he never did so… I may make a video on the entire process from DODI info to building my case basically myself using the DODIs. It was quite the experience…
I think I went to MEPS at least 7 times cause of my ears. I use to wear gauges and had to get them sewn up. Took a while to heal, stitches were still in but luckily I passed on my last visit.

MEPS starting in 2 days and Im 6'1 135lb... I'm scared they'll disqualify me for being underweight... my recruiter rushed me to this process and just told me to eat as much as I can and just chug water.

I got my ears cleaned at Meps. There was a navy sailor who cleaned my ears out. He squirt water in my ears. HOT water might I add. My ear wax was so hard that the sailor had to pull out the heavy artillery. It hurt like a bitch and made me feel woozy after he was done, but when the doc looked in my ear, she complimented me. "Wow, what beautiful eardrums you have."

Just got done with MEPS today 2024 was not bad at all. Was nervous for no reason but I care so that was a big part of my nervousness. I'm 31 so the hardest part was the kids. But there were many 27+ people with me that also had kids of there own. two being 39 years old. I'm a father so I just chatted with the adult parents that were there also.

Did MEPS in 2001 when I joined the army right out of high school. It's a pain but everyone in the military has to do it. It's like the DMV meets the doctors office. I hated it haha but necessary.

If you have a medical issue like leg surgery, or anything you can't ENLIST with, can you REENLIST with those issues? For example, let's say you can't enlist with previous leg surgery. If you enlist and later in your career you need leg surgery and have surgery, can you reenlist and extend your contract?
You can reenlist with any service related medical conditions providing you remain deployable. If your injury makes you non-deployable, you’ll be processed for medical discharge.

Question! I was prescribed antidepressants about 5 months ago but I never took those medications will that disqualify me? Are there any sort of waivers and possibly a psych evaluation? I’m willing to do any sort of testing to prove I don’t have the meds in my system lol
Yes, this will be a disqualifying medication that’ll require medical documentation. Diagnosis, mental health evaluation recommendation letter, all the notes annotated during your mental health sessions/counseling’s and a clean bill of health. Yes and you’ll need all medical documentation and I’d recommend getting reevaluated with a memo explaining that. Provide old and new medical supporting documentation to a recruiter willing to work with you. Don’t be surprised if they aren’t jumping all over it. Chances are slim….
Hi question so for prior service or inter service transfers (marine trying to go army with 11 years service still waiting for my package to get approved or denied by the marine corps) do you have to go through the medical at meps or is my PHA sufficient with in 6 months of getting out?

I remember I went to meps. Shit was ALLL DAY.. I’m talkin we left the hotel at 5am and got to meps. I went home from meps at like 7pm 😭 I was KNOCKED OUT when I got to my bed

MEPS wasn't to horrible but I never want to go back, ever. I was there for 12 hours. What I can say was the absolute worst was reception. I have 4 weeks left of basic training and I'd rather start day 0 than go back to reception.

Hello! . I have a question question. In July of 2020 I had a surgery for my scoliosis because it caused me back pains. I’m at fully healed now and my doctor gave me the clear to do anything with no limitations after I was 6 months post opp. Is it possible I can still get intro the Air Force or try to at least get a waiver?

I've had a couple surgeries, my recruiter said that they wouldn't be medically disqualifying. How should I approach answering a question about scars? I've had my appendix removed, and the scars while super faded are still visible, should I just inform them that I had appendicitis? I've also had two pretty intense eye surgeries but I still have full 20/20 vision, full color vision, full range of motion. Because they're going to ask about that for sure.

Hi, I have a question and was wondering if you could help me. I’m cleared to process into Meps (I had to get two medical clearances, one for having my tonsils out and tubes in my ears, the other for a corneal abrasion). Well I’m going to Meps soon and weigh 215, I’m 5’11”. I still have a week or so before I go so I’m continually loosing weight because I workout daily and I’m a bricklayer so it’s relatively physical. Well my friend that’s been in the army told me not to worry so much about the weight. My recruiter said something about the Army Preparation Academy, can you tell me more about that? I took the tapas test and asvab already, the tapas I got a 94 on and a 100 is required to go to the academy I was told. Can you give me more information on that? I’m alike to retake the tapas after the 29th. Thank you for your help!
When taking the TAPAS avoid choosing the emotional choices and be consistent with your answers. You got this! I have cultural heritage tattoos on my right and left index fingers and mid wrist. Small symbols the size of a nickel. The recruiters told me I won't even need a waiver. I'm trying to sign a 18x or option 40 contract but not sure if they're just trying to get me to sign up asap. Will I get turned away at meps or later on without that waiver? Hi sir, so I had an er visit out of state that I completely forgot about. Genesis was able to pull it when I went to meps yesterday and they are now requesting those records along with records up to the present and a pharmacy log. How do you recommend I get these records since they are out of state ?? Also, after I provide them with this informationn, and go back to meps, will I be ran through genesis again ? I completed everything for my physical besides the duck walk and the actual physical. After the questions, I was told they were going to leave it “open” and then my recruiter came to get me. You’ll have to contact the facility you processed at and obtain your medical records from their medical records room. Whichever pharmacy you get your prescriptions from would be who you’ll pull your prescription history. For example; CVS, Duane Reade, etc… After that has been submitted you’ll be approved to conduct the medical exam. What dental conditions would be disqualifying? I can drink, eat and communicate with no pain or issue but I have a few cavities and a chip out of one tooth.

Depends on how tall you are and if you fail the bright n weight by age and gender, you’ll have to meet the body fat standard. Again per your age and gender. Your recruiter should have checked this by now unless they know you’re over but not more then 6% over your maximum allowable body fat for your age and gender. I have gauged ears and I’m super nervous about going through with them. I’ve had them out for over 2 months and they haven’t closed up all the way. I’d say at most they’re an 1/8in wide. A fat 1/8 in. I’ve been told by my recruiter to super glue, is that a good idea? I’ll be going to MEPS in a week or two.

Just went to MEPS this week and passed! I ship out for Fr Benning April 18th as a 19D, Cav Scout. Since my recruiter isn’t a Drill Sergeant and went to basic 12 years ago, I was wondering if there was any advice you could give a 32 yr old who’s going to BCT for the first time? I said I didn’t have adhd but I do haven’t taken meds in 4 years with mroads suspended I don’t have to worry about it right especially me going within the next 2 weeks? Ps I think it’s kinda bs because being prescribed the meds they should take in to account I never even picked them up

Get the surgery completed. Get the all clear from your doctor once it’s full healed. Get an updated evaluation and obtain all clear letter from the surgeon. I think that would be waiverable. DQ until you’re 6-8wks off Medication minimum but I’d say 6-12mo of normal readings and off Medication and have a test once per quarter to show and prove stability for best results. So yesterday I went to Meps but only for the testing. I came in with a Grunt Style hoodie. The front has a US Flag but the stripes are guns and they were cool with that and didn’t say anything.

Hello I have a question I’ve been wanting to ask a recruiter. I’m 33 years old, I workout, do jiu Jitsu and all that good stuff BUT I am diagnosed with RA, Rheumatoid Arthritis, since the age of 24. It’s been maintained very well. My question is can a get a waiver? And if I pass Mep mobility test you think they consider me eligible? Have you had anyone in my situation…
