I'm proud of you guys for joining up. I went through boot camp at Fort Jackson in 1975. Tank hill . Was tuf all my drills where Air born ranges. Even are CO was one just back from nam. Wasn't coed then. I think out of 300 guys only about 200 made it through boot camp. My mos was 63b10 that I did at Fort Jackson. Than I went to a ready combat unit. 155. Howitzer sp. Got out in 1981. Thanks for serving peaple remember it didn't rain in the Army it rains on the Army. And Victory Starts Here.
Cool seeing y’all, I’m currently at fort Jackson AIT in Delta company 369th battalion for 42A MOS. Basic was ass but really nowhere near as hard as i expected
Good luck Aaliyah I went through in 2009 when the drill sergeants were some straight pit bulls! Lol due to the nature of the world they have calmed down a lot. Time is gonna go by fast
Good luck bro. Im currently in bct at ft.jackson but on holiday leave. Basically dont be late and wear the right uniform. Make sure your battle buddies arent fucked up and you'll be fine. Bct isnt hard so far atleast for me. It just sucks. The cold, the rain, the yelling. You will have to embrace the suck as they say and push forward. Some of punishments are funny and others are just straight up harsh. Get ready to do alot of pushups and running. I failed my first acft because i was sick. So dont get sick/covid and dont get injured ( i rolled both my ankles). Im all sorts of fucked up but pushing forward. Dont get recycled and do the right thing and you'll do fine.
Nancy It used to be, it was when I went through basic in 2009 at fort Jackson. But due to the sensitivity in the world they had to chill out on being so full metal jacket lol. It’s weird because I hated basic but looking at how easy it is now I’m kinda glad I was apart of the last wave of soldiers who got threw into the belly of the beast 😂 it’s like a badge of honor in some way. I can look at the youngins and say “you think you had it rough…..”
Yea man it’s actually not a bad idea to join before you graduate, I waited until after I graduated because I procrastinated a lot but you should definitely join beforehand. What are you joining for?
I went to Jackson for basic. I graduated October 22nd 2020. Where are you guys at for AIT? It looks like y'all are at Fort Lee ( that's where I went for AIT ). I’m currently at my unit rn. Camp Carroll, South Korea. Basic was alright, I made the best of it and AIT was just a bunch of TRADOC bulls*** and I was so happy to leave AIT 😂😂 once you get to your unit it’s a lot more freedom. Just keep doing the right thing and life at your unit is smooth.
